Charlie's Discipline

 Charlie Sue is highly trained in handling the handler.

My favorite is looking down at Charlie as she fixes a stare at me, failing to serve her needs. No smiles, just a glare of disappointment.

She has trained me in taking her to the PARK! twice a day. If the second trip is not starting out, she jumps on the bed and begins lightly chewing on my forearms with a demonic and fun attitude.

Sessions with snacks are expected, encouraged by dramatic licking of the jaws.

She has impressed me outdoors with a great love of bolting out of hidden places, grinning, and creating a circle of evasion. This is her best trick and she loves to engage and then tear off in another direction.

She volunteers as the acolyte, getting ready for each service, always sitting nearby, then retiring to favorite place.

Matthew 21:1-9. And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and came unto Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying unto them, Go into the village that is over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me. And if any one say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. Now this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, Meek and riding upon an ass, And upon a colt the foal of an ass.

And the disciples went, and did even as Jesus appointed them, and brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their garments; and he sat thereon. And the most part of the multitude spread their garments in the way; and others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the way. And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the son of David:

Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

There is a crisis of belief in the Catholic Church. Will the priests and bishops of America remedy that?

GJ - Judging by the religious in Notre Dame classes 50 years ago, those who belonged to religious orders were as Unitarian as the mainline Protestants. For example, when the class rejected the infallibility of the Pope, a local priest railed at everyone and said, "How can you call yourselves Catholic?"

     I pointed out the paganism of Paul Tillich and the professor said, "Lutherans do not understand Lutheranism." I responded "Lutherans do not understand Luther?" Dead silence followed. 

     The Courage To Be, by Tillich, was a best seller. Other Protestants - like Bultmann and Barth - were equally apostate.
