KJV Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."
KJV John 1:1-3
"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;"
Many people think of the Old Testament as distant from the New Testament, words perhaps even as ancient, foreign, or antique.
The Old Testament is a 100% Bible, Old and New, when complete. The New Testament era (thank you - Greeks) translated the Hebrew into Greek.
The lucky seminary students got to learn Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. The squiggly lines took on meaning and saw the clarity of the early words (which traveled the oceans). Now it is too much effort to learn and translate, to struggle over the Bible's wording.
God's Word is God Himself, from Creation until the final end of the universe. The Holy Trinity is the beginning and all the fulfillment of the Scriptures - twice over. To make this clear, the opening of Genesis 1 is the message of John 1. Compare the two beginnings - Genesis and John - In the Beginning.
Everything is created by God, not simplified by whims. The people who desire their own works are often lost in their own errors. Can we wonder about the English rose and see how it fills the garden from one planting of the bush? My first Peace Rose was snipped off to please someone else.
