Here is some background about Justification.
Here are questions to ask:
- What is the Chief Article of Christianity? Where is this language found?
- Do you believe that God forgave the sins of the entire world? If so, when did that happen - at the death of Christ, His resurrection, or another time, such as the angelic announcement - Peace on earth? Where is this written?
- What does Objective Justification mean? It is not in the Bible or the Book of Concord.
- What does Subjective Justification mean? I have not found it in the Bible or the Book of Concord.
- What did our early catechisms teach?
- How did anyone teach Justification without OJ and SJ - and then only after the era of Pietism and rationalism at Halle University?
- Why should we teach what ELCA teaches - that the entire world is already saved?
- Why are we using the NIV, which has changed Paul's words about Justification in Romans 3?
- If Abraham is the example of Justification by Faith in Genesis 15, Romans 4, and Galatians, then who is our example of Justification without Faith?
- If Paul teaches OJ - as you claim - why does he clearly teach Justification by Faith? Does he contradict himself, because some of your leaders really hate Justification by Faith.
- The Gospel is the God-power unto salvation for everyone who believes in Romans 1:16, so how is everyone saved as DP Buchholz claims?
- I always heard "raised for our justification!" Romans 4:25, but then I read Romans 4:24 - if we believe... Who is mixed up?
- Romans 5 begins with Justification by Faith. Did Paul switch to OJ in the same chapter?
- The Means of Grace chapter, Romans 10, is clear about faith and forgiveness. Was Paul confused about this? Or are we?
- Is a seminary president from Canada more authoritative than Luther?
- If the Book of Concord says we should study Luther's Galatians Lectures, to learn more about Justification by Faith, why are we ignoring that book - and Luther - this anniversary year?
- Why do the liberal Lutherans and the conservative Lutherans hate Luther so much? But they still sell Luther trinkets and toys?
- Which is better - the original Small Catechism or the latest version and notes from our synod?
Scriptures That Destroy Universal Objective Justification, Root and Branch
Genesis 15:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Mark 16:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (GJ - Another reason to adopt the NIV - it kicks this verse into the footnotes.)
John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:36 King James Version (KJV)
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (GJ -Does Jon-Boy know?)
John 6:27 King James Version
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Romans 1:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (GJ - Don't tell Jay or Pope John the Malefactor.)
Romans 3:21-22 King James Version (KJV)
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Romans 4:24-25 King James Version (KJV)
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 5:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 10:1-17 King James Version (KJV)
10 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Galatians 3:6-7 King James Version (KJV)
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
