Daily Luther Sermon Quote - St. Stephen's Day Epistle - "BUILDING CHURCHES DOES NOT SECURE GOD’S FAVOR. 8. This epistle text seems to be not at all difficult; it is plain. It presents in Stephen an example of the faith of Christ. Little comment is necessary. We shall examine it briefly. The first principle it teaches is, we cannot secure the favor of God by erecting churches and other institutions. Stephen makes this fact plain in his citation from Isaiah."
