Philippines Rice Mission Funded - Laptop Computer Next.
Pastor Palangyos Could Teach American Clergy about Effectiveness

We met the goal of $1,000 for rice, and Pastor Palangyos was very happy about that.

The next need is for a $500 laptop for Bethany Lutheran Mission.

Some Background
When Pastor Palangyos wanted to work with us, I made some suggestions:
  1. Write about your work on a free blog - that goes around the world.
  2. Take advantage of multiple Facebook theme pages. They build up support.
  3. Trust the efficacious Word of God. His Word never returns empty. God accomplishes His will through the Word. He prospers His will through that Word.
He has been very active on his blog - Lutheran Cowboys.

He uses Facebook constantly.

He uses photos and videos, and shares Biblical teaching all the time.

He has had to borrow his wife's computer, and she uses it for her work. That has created a logjam when both need to use it at the same time.

Jordan and Amabel Palangyos

When the lockdown and poor harvest created a real hunger situation, Pastor Palangyos found supplies of rice - the staple of all their meals - to share with the people.

I told Pastor Palangyos, "You use the Internet for spreading the Gospel more than most pastors I know. You are ahead of most pastors and you trust the power of God's Word."

In other mission news - we are showing Lutheran world missionaries that there are hundreds of free books (PDFs) and many low cost print books for their work.

The Rice Mission Now Has $500 $600 toward the $700 Goal

More gifts have arrived for the Bethany Mission Rice Trip. Pastor Jordan Palangyos buys the rice and drives them to the mission, where the food has been scarce. Last night the goal of $700 was halfway reached - at $350 total sent.

The total sent is now $500 $600.

The airplane was out of reach, but Pastor Palangyos was able to do a deal with car payments. He will use the car to get rice to the mission and to visit more freely.

New Rice Trip in the Philippines -
Pastor Palangyos Helps His People

Pastor Palangyos is preparing for the next rice trip. They have $150 toward the $700 needed.

As many people know, the Philippines are one of many countries where rice is the basic food, the staple of life. We might have rice once or twice a year, but they build their meals around it.

Weather has been terrible this year and the crops thin. Pastor Palangyhos was able to start payments on a car to deliver the rice, which he takes to the mission.

They also have far more restrictions than we do about the Wuhan Flu (Corona) virus.

Some people give directly through PayPal. Others would rather send a check here, to the Bethany Lutheran Church account. When checks come earmarked for the Philippines, they are sent the same day on PayPal. Sending checks directly is expensive and cumbersome because of the exchange rate and bank complications.

Jordan and Amabel Palangyos. They have two children.
They are bringing the Gospel and food relief to their own people, where they grew up.

The email for using PayPal is

Our address is:

Changing the PayPal Address for the Bethany Philippine Mission

The roof fund is coming along well. This one is temporary, not suitable for the typhoon season.

Pastor and Mrs. Jordan Palangyos are experiencing the labors and joys of a new mission. Thank you for representing us with the Gospel.

There have been issues with money transfers being used by disreputable groups, so that has caused us to change the PayPal account.

Our attorney Glen Kotten visited there and helped set up a church account. Recently banks have made that difficult with PayPal group (church) accounts.

I checked with Pastor Palangyos, along with discussions with Dr. Lito Cruz, Glen Kotten, and Pastor Jim Shrader.

  • Mailing checks is slow and expensive.
  • Wiring money is also cumbersome.

Therefore, we are going to back to the individual account that can be transferred easily to the church bank account.

Those who wish to send money directly should use -

lutheranautonomousmissionsphil@yahoo.com

  1. Those who would rather mail gifts to Bethany Lutheran Church, 1104 Letha Drive, Springdale, AR, 72762, will have that sent (100%) to the mission, usually the same day it arrives.
  2. I acknowledge the gift so the sender knows, send it along via PayPal, and let Pastor Palangyos know.

Demand for the Gospel is growing.

News for Pastor and Mrs. Jordan Palangyos

Pastor and Mrs. Jordan Palangyos. Amabel just earned her PhD in linguistics. Her father just died, and we pray for the comfort and peace of the Gospel.

Gracious Heavenly Father, we join Amabel in her loss and find comfort in the peace and assurance of eternal life through faith in Jesus the Savior. In His Name, Amen.

The Bible Teaches Faith in Jesus the Savior is now in print and in Kindle. I am thinking of doing the same with Pastor Palangyos' translation. Let me know what you think about having it on Amazon and Kindle - greg.jackson.edlp@gmail.com

For their use at the mission, Pastor Palangyos has translated the little book. They will print it there, which is far more practical, but they need a printer. The approximate cost is $400. Any donations sent here will be sent (100%) to their mission via PayPal. If you want to send it yourself, this is the information.

The rainy season, which extends into October, kept them from finishing the church, but they got the first floor done. The roof must wait.

Did you think these titles were going to the Philippines? Neither did I, but the Word travels around the world quickly. Every title is non-profit and published as a free PDF. Glen Kotten delivered these.

I reminded Pastor Palangyos that the Christian Church is built on the Word, and we have just begun with the Word. We already have a full color children's book (thanks to Norma A. Boeckler) and the black and white coloring book version (also thanks to her).

That reminds me. One of my friends from high school had a grandson in the hospital, and he has two brothers. They asked me to send the coloring book immediately (!) and so I sent the BW version for them to print and color in. That was such a good feeling, to know that the book helped a family during a medical crisis.

Springdale is in the rainy season. We just had six inches of rain a few days ago. Last night the skies opened up a new round of perhaps 24 hours of rain.

Glen Kotten would like to visit the mission again, God willing.
