Types of KJV Bibles To Own - The Cost Is Often in the Leather Cover

 

Most KJVs are double column on each page. Several KJVs are single column on each page.

Some are KJV Thompson Chain Reference, which was the only KJV TCR at the beginning. I do not recommend anything else than KJV. The TCR is the work of several men and has value as a Bible-plus-concordance (word studies) put together.

Super Giant Print is the largest font - the one I use on the lectern.

Giant Print is large but by no means giant. 

Some Bibles are smaller so the fonts are smaller and compact. That kind is more portable but less readable for us older readers.

Bible covers have a great impact on the cost of a Bible.

I have not checked all of these changes, but this points out the basic fact there is a NKJV bridge to the modern Bibles but no modern Bible (the Evil Four) bridge to the KJV.

The seriously corrupted modern Bibles are:

2. ESV - Leftist National Council of Churches
3. RSV - Leftist National Council of Churches
4. NRSV - Leftist National Council of Churches

I had a short discussion with a reader, not in opposition to him, about the New KJV. There are good reasons to own various translations and paraphrases of the Bible, even with computer searches so easily accomplished. 

My objection to the New KJV is the way a false Greek New Testament is honored in the footnotes of the NKJV.

Some have observed that I enjoy having fun in the footnotes of the books I write. The reason is that a secondary message can be found in the basement (bottom of the page, the best place) to add details, quotations, wry observations, and other material that would crowd the main message (upstairs). 

The New KJV does this by following the KJV above and honoring the Westcott-Hort-Nestle-Aland-UBS below - signified with NU for Nestle-Aland United Leftist Bible Society. The KJV's Greek text is identified in the footnote as M - for Majority Text. This deliberately gives status to an invented Greek New Testament not found anywhere but the crypto-Catholic minds of Westcott and Hort.

Does the NIV honor the and name the Majority/KJV text the way the New KJV honors the Westcott-Hort-Nestle-Aland-UBS? No! That irony fits into my category of the Non-Reciprocity of the False Teachers - they assert themselves everywhere but give no credit to sound doctrine. Theirs is the only truth. In a few words, this is the basic difference between the Majority Greek Text of the KJV and the Westcott-Hort-Nestle-Aland-UBS.

The Majority Text has thousands of copies while Westcott-Hort established their invented text from five obscure sources, centered on Count Tischendorf's "discoveries - Sinaiticus and Vaticanus."

Note how the NKJV treats the ending of Mark - 

1. Mark 16:9 Vv. 9–20 are bracketed in NU as not in the original text. They are lacking in Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus, although nearly all other mss. of Mark contain them.

Professors and leaders of most denominations will not even name the KJV as a good Bible, but they make money and get incentives to promote the NIV/ESV apostate Bibles.

GJ - WELS and LCMS considered it their sacred duty to ridicule and remove the King James Version of the Bible, used by up to 60% of Bible readers. NIV (nicknamed the HIV) gets a small percentage, and ESV is even worse.

Anyone who thinks the ESV is better than the NIV should not shop for groceries. "But darling, the oranges were on sale. Rotten means a discount - lots of people are frugal like us."

EHV stands for Extra High Voltage, not even close for the wacky "Brug" version copy and paste.

An agent deep within WELS told me that the new NIV is going down in defeat, in spite of the WELS convention resolution - "All Paraphrases Matter."

Congregations seem to be favoring the EHV, which removes many of the blatant errors of the new NIV, but not all of them.

This verse is the keystone of Church Growth Enthusiasm. The real church for them is the Pietistic cell group, which is where they "make disciples." Didn't Jesus order them to "make disciples who make disciples who make disciples"? WELS guru Gerlach wrote that, so it must be true.

Jesus did not tell the disciples to manufacture soul-winners in all nations, but to teach all nations. That is like the difference between stoning peaches and stoning your neighbor.

The Fuller fanatics are indifferent about doctrine - except theirs. They will not give an inch on this, so why did the EHV make matters even worse? Mequon was all in for Fuller Seminary decades ago.

Lutheran World Missions - The Most Corrupt

Lutheran World Missions (LCMS-WELS) are the most corrupt because they were the first to attend Fuller Seminary indoctrination classes. Also, they are larded with special gifts, abortion-loving Thrivent grants, and special luxuries.

Fuller's errors were welcomed in the name of Growth! because the LCMS-WELS leaders were eager to leverage the influence of Calvinism and Rationalism in their sects. They advocated safe sects, so why not become bi-sectual, Pietistic and Calvinistic?

I read that exchange Rolf and co.  What caught my eye was the exchange about the EHV, which I've been watching with interest for a few years.  Rolf is Rolf obviously.

Back in 2012 when the resistance to the NNIV was mounting within the WELS, the rebuttal from TEC was "we can't do a translation or use the AAT as a basis of one because we don't know English, but Dr. Moo's team does.  They've got the Collins Bank of English."  To Mark Schroeder's credit, he said that "Well, (so-and-so; can't remember who, might have been John Brug) and I translated Ephesians over a weekend."  The whole thing, as history tells us, ended with no official translation-- although the NNIV emerged at the de facto translation.

But, there were a lot of unhappy pastors and former faculty, and the Wartburg Project was the result of their dissatisfaction with the NNIV.  Brian Keller, a pastor involved in the project wrote a really good essay that defended the KJV and was critical of the NNIV for what it lost in terms of language as well as its gender problems.

Whatever the EHV is or isn't, in on regard it takes a big step in the right direction with regards to the Greek / Hebrew texts.  Rather than simply accepting Vaticanus / Sinaiticus, they use the Textus Receptus based on support from the oldest sources.  As a result, the EHV has a longer New Testament than the NNIV or ESV as many of the verses removed by those translations have been put back....including the ending of Mark's gospel.  This is encouraging because would be nice to have a contemporary translation when I need another look at the verse. (see FAQ's 10, 22, and 30)

To be sure, these WELS/ELS guys are OJ/SJ (as it says in the FAQ), but I haven't looked at the translation in enough detail to see if it is colored by this bias.  You don't have to purchase it either as it is available on Biblegateway.com
