Tom Fisher's Latest Letter

Dear Pastor Jackson,

I have been studying your book on justification again. No true Christian is able to accept the twisted, confusing false dogma of OJ/SJ. OJ is universalism. SJ is synergism.

I have also been studying your book on the KJV.  I continue to be impressed with the faith of Yale's Nils Dahl who said, "The text! The text! We have the text!" Contrast the faith of Nils Dahl with the faithless blasphemers of the TEXTUS RECEPTUS, KJV, and Luther's Bible.  God the Holy Ghost chose these Bibles for the Reformation and rejected the Vaticanus family of corrupted Bibles. God the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth who guides us into all truth, and attaches Himself to the pure Word of God in the TEXTUS RECEPTUS, KJV, and Luther's Bible. No true Christian rejects and ignores these Bibles, but uses and studies them as God's pure efficacious Word.  So what shall we say of these wicked "Lutheran" pastors who continue to harden themselves against God the Holy Ghost?  I think they are not afraid to speak a word against God the Holy Ghost and the Bibles He has chosen.

In Christ,

Tom Fisher

Lutherdom Explained by Two Major, Successful Onslaughts

The Lutheran sects of America are overwhelmingly Calvinist and Papal, blended together in their hatred for the Biblical Reformation of the 16th century. As Chemnitz wrote in his Apology of the Book of Concord - the non-Lutherans who broke from Luther were not Reformers but wannabees! The copycats feigned fidelity to the Bible but they wanted a copyright for their strange and contradictory claims. Thus Zwingli established the foundation of Calvinism by rejecting the efficacy of the Word and the Means of Grace.

Although many Babtists teach faith in Christ, the burrowing Babtist-Calvinists seem to be taking over in the name of covenant. Covenant means God will only prosper those who give 10% and more to God - "He won't bless you unless you bless Him."
  • Hast thou not noticed that all the modern Bad Bibles are variations on doubt, Zwingli, and Calvin?
  • And the Bad Bible Boosters (RSV, NRSV, ESV, NIV and Beck) mock the King James Version?
  • And that the KJV unifies Christendom instead of dividing and destroying?

The origin of the Bad Bibles is the KJV Revision of 1881, as illustrated above. In short, the worst apostate leaders in America and Britain beat down the conservatives and the very limited scope of the Revision. They created such a horrible, dishonest Revision that no one would buy it once they saw the contents. Nor could anyone fix the Revision because the Biblical harlots were striving for total control.

Fifty years later, the Revision popped up again, like a bloated pig inflated by its death in a flood (which we saw during the St. Louis, 1993 flood. The 1930s hailed modernism, cooperating with every sect, and lusting for merger. Like the Methodists, the Lutherans figured out that they could steal all the assets by making the conservatives march away in a fury, leaving almost everything behind, keeping their old hymnals and little else.

The Lutheran blogs and discussion groups today are laughable, with almost no content, no Reformation knowledge, and no sense of humor. They used to rage against the efficacy of the Word in the Means of Grace, but now they rest on their flaccid fannies and praise one one another for their leadership.
The apostate sisterhood has been capitulating to the Zwingli Calvinists for almost 100 years:
  1. Bad Bibles
  2. Worsening Hymnals
  3. Constant digs against the Reformation.

ELCA-LCMS-ELS-ELDONUTs Love Dress-Up Day

The orans or angel pose seems to have spread its infection to the quasi-Lutherans.

One historian called it "sinuflecting toward Rome," sneaking and snaking toward Roman Catholicism while tugging along the denomination. That was the plan of Cardinal Newman, and it worked fairly well. After all, he wrote "Lead Kindly Light," a hymn suited for all religions.

The Lutheran Church in America promoted the sisterhood first, awkwardly at first. At the Ad Fontes Holy Communion service, Synod President James Crumley looked strangely at the female pastor using the extreme orans pose, bowing toward the communion elements.

Christina and I did not participate, but wondered afterwards how much wackier worship was going to be in the future. We saw the same sort of Romanizing at Ft. Wayne, with David Scaer marching down the aisle in a big ceremony, as if in a trance.

When two WELS pastors side-stepped over to the LCMS, one posed in his pink cope - or was it rose? WELS finally abandoned their Geneva (black) gowns in favor of Vogue gowns. Progress?

At an ELS installation, the pastor genuflected toward the elements. Missouri began using incense. ELDONA regressed from Eastern Orthodox threads down to Almy Roman Catholic costumes - enhanced by EO haybale beards.

Lutherans have been buying Roman Catholic Bibles and promoting the Apocrypha for decades. Let's face it - the Apocrypha is boring and uninspired.

"Ask the Pastor" should be banned until Lutherans have exhausted the treasures of the Bible and repudiated the detritus of the Revision.

No words - they even found a way to top Liz Eaton, with ELCA's United Not-Lutheran Seminary.

Matt the Fatt:
"Oh, I could sing a sonnet
About my bishop's bonnet
If I had some donuts
At the ELCA parade."

A Brief History of Objective Justification, Part 1

The modern translations are either owned by the Calvinists - like the ESV - or reliant on Calvinist paraphrasing.

Calvin pretended to be Lutheran, much like the LCMS-WELS-ELS-ELDONA today. He hated Luther's Biblical doctrine, much like the synods today. He separated the Word from the Spirit and promoted a rationalistic perspective of the Bible.

Leyser identified the falsehood of Huber, who had been a Calvinist but was teaching as a Lutheran.

Leyser and his colleagues kicked Huber out. Thanks to Walther, the Lutheran leaders have licked Huber's boots - as they have with their joint approval of Objective Justification.

From Luther to Tyndale to the King James Version

Luther’s Publications Mortally Wounded the Church of Rome

Luther and the printing press arrived so powerfully that the Church of Rome could not kill, torture, imprison, and enslave Evangelicals fast enough to stop the Reformation. The Beast of Revelation[1] was mortally wounded and never recovered its full strength in promoting error in the name of Mary, Purgatory, the Mass, and the infallibility of the pope. One part of the Reformation miracle was the built-up hunger of people for God’s love, grace, and forgiveness through the Savior. The instrument of communication was the printing press, but the energy came from Luther’s writing. An expert in early publishing stated:

Gutenberg had produced an orthodox Latin Bible and he had taken advantage of a large market of printed indulgences. Luther launched the Reformation by an attack on indulgences and he dethroned the Latin Bible from the heart of Western Christendom, but he used the printing press as no one had ever done before. Over 3,700 separate editions of books and pamphlets by Martin Luther were published in his lifetime, not including Bible translations. This is an immense number for any one author, even by today’s standards. It is an average of almost two publications a week for most of his adult life. In his time, Luther was by far the most extensively published author who had ever lived.[2]

Luther, Melanchthon, and the Concordists

Luther attracted and worked with brilliant men who wrote in harmony with him. Melanchthon was his younger associate from the beginning, an acclaimed scholar and editor/author of the Augsburg Confession and its defense – The Apology. Fifty years after Augsburg Confession, Martin Chemnitz and others collected doctrinal confessions in the Book of Concord, which included the Formula of Concord, 1580. Chemnitz was a student of Luther and Melanchthon, with the best qualities of most men. This second Reformation generation of Biblical scholars dealt with issues about false doctrine and defended clearly the Scriptural truths of the Reformation – Justification by Faith, the efficacy of the Word and Sacraments, and the inerrancy of the Scriptures. They began with the Three Ecumenical Creeds, included vital statements by Luther and Melanchthon, and created harmony (concordia in Latin) with a variety of issues in the 1580 Formula of Concord. However, the Reformation and the Book of Concord era have been neglected and supplanted by the insights of Zwingli, Calvin, and Robert Schuller.

Zwingli and Calvin, Alienation from the Word/Spirit Connection

Zwingli first - and Calvin later - appeared to agree with Luther, but they were not charter members of the Reformation, as many imagine. Chemnitz, in his Apology of the Book of Concord, compared the Calvinists humorously to tenants who claimed everything would be fine if only the landlords would agree to their demands. The Zwinglians and Calvinists eventually conceded their departure from the efficacy of the Word in the Means of Grace. Although they became bold in their disagreement with Luther, they became uncertain about forgiveness and salvation. For Calvin, God being sovereign meant that no one knew if the Spirit would be active in a given sermon, baptism, or Lord’s Supper. The emphasis shifted from the certainty of God’s Word in preaching, teaching, and the Sacraments (the Means of Grace) to hoping for results, shifting the responsibility to man.

Their dogma can be summed up as the rejection of the Holy Spirit and Word always at work together, not a small matter, but a breech. For instance, Zwingli mockingly stated that the Holy Spirit did not need a vehicle, like an oxcart, as his response to the Real Presence of Christ in Holy Communion. His rejection of the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, making them merely symbolic, caused the Anabaptists to leave and become persecuted and drowned by the Zwinglians. Calvin openly mocked the presence of Christ in both natures in Holy Communion, and he placed human reason above the Scriptures. That magisterial use of human reason was employed to judge, explain, and make the Word of God appealing. The magisterial use of reason made it man’s job to get the work done, a tragic departure from “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.”

1 Corinthians 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

As The Other Side of Calvinism has shown so abundantly, all five categories of the five-points of Calvinism are disputed by its theologians, either one point or another. Ironically, when Lutherans abandon Scriptural certainty and clarity, they inevitably move toward Calvinism or allegiance to Rome.

The effect upon translations is immense and difficult to correct, once adopted and deployed in millions of Bibles, church textbooks, and devotional booklets.

A Simple Comparison Shows the Three Blind Mice Want You To Be Blind Too

I will drop some supplemental graphics below, but I first want to show how simple it is to compare the truth in the Book of Concord to the rubbish promoted by Matt the Fatt, Mirthless Mark, and Pope John the Malefactor.

The first quotation is the classic definition of the Chief Article of Christianity, articulated by Luther, Melanchthon, and Chemnitz - who was the senior editor of the Formula of Concord. Compare and contrast this with WELS' Zarling and Bivens.

Zarling and Bivens (both WELS) claim in writing that their precious Objective Justification is the Chief Article and that all the praise aimed at Justification by Faith is really about Justification without Faith - OJ.

Phil Hale, the cub editor of Christian News, has solemnly declared that "Justification by Faith is just a phrase." Of course, this phrase hardly ever appears in Christian News, but it does occur frequently in Romans and Galatians, which explain the Chief Article so well.

Calvin
The second quotation may seem odd to most Lutherans - and it is - but I placed it there to show its affinity to the Edward Preuss statement below - ecstatically copied into an Objective Justification essay by Robert Preus. According to Calvin, babies of the "elect" are born forgiven. Just to be clear - because Calvin rejected the Spirit always at work in the Word - he made baptism an ordinance, a law, not God's work but man's witness to his faith.

Edward Preuss
Justification of the Sinner is a booklet-length essay by Edward Preuss, who taught at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Walther blessed the booklet, even though Preuss left Lutheranism for the Church of Rome and spent the rest of his life promoting Catholicism.
"Yea, in Christ we were justified before we were even born" sounds like Preuss was too close to the incense when writing his booklet, which also has this gem.

"So, then, we are reconciled; however, not only we, but also Hindus, and Hottentots and Kafirs, yes, the world. 'Reconciled,' says our translation; the Greek original says: 'placed in the right relation to God'. Because before the Fall we, together with the whole creation, were in the right relation to God, therefore Scripture teaches that Christ, through His death, restored all things to the former right relation to God."
F. R. Edward Preuss, 1834-1904, Die Rechtfertigung der Suender vor Gott. Cited in Rick Nicholas Curia, The Significant History of the Doctrine of Objective or Universal Justification, Alpine, California: California Pastoral Conference, WELS. January 24-25, 1983. p. 24. (Rick Curia put together the worst of the worst OJ material. Curiously, his last name is used for the governing body of the Antichrist.)

The Great Walther
If the quotations are read together - a short homework assignment, to be sure - then Calvin, Preus, and Walther are opposed to the Chief Article of Christianity and anxious to replace it with their own dogma. The Book of Concord statement is not an opinion of the Lutherans at that time, but a concise definition that fits all the previous, faithful leaders of Christianity.

To be Biblical, the blind lead the blind - and ignore the clear teaching of Romans and Galatians in order to build and improve upon the Chief Article with... Walther's Universal Absolution, followed by making a decision for Universal Forgiveness

The Great Walther belongs with the Great Edward Preuss and the Great Calvin for messing up the Gospel and replacing it with their own fantasies. The post above shows that the Missouri Synod did not start out teaching Objective Justification but clearly taught Justification by Faith until the Brief Statement of 1932 departed from the Chief Article to promote Walther's error.

The Justification by Faith Deniers

This is the Chief Article which the false prophets, below, reject.

Moldstad, Schroeder, Eaton, and Harrison teach Universal Justification, and they support abortion through their devotion and joint-work through Thrivent.

Hale, the cub editor of Christian News, fulminates against the Chief Article, and, like his Father Below, cannot say the words of the Holy Spirit - Justification by Faith.

Cascione has been corrected about his false reporting of the facts many times, but like his OJ pals, he cannot get the truth out, due to his homage to his hoofed Master.

McCain's slander is the highest possible commendation. Sometimes he is so dumb, he is funny. He accused me of broadcasting from the "spare room of a rented house." Can Paul name any precedents?

Bivens, a Fuller alumnus, borrowed Zarling's daring OJ/JFBA switch.

Brenner is another OJ Salesman at Mequon.

Like Bivens, Valleskey didn't go to Fuller Seminary too.
His UOJ is breathtakingly stupid.

Jay Webber, supported by WELS DP Buchholz,
proclaimed OJ as Luther's doctrine at a tiny Emmaus Conference. Somehow, he skipped over Luther's Galatians, almost an Olympic sport among OJists.

The CLC (sic) claims The Brief Statement, 1932, on a level with the Book of Concord. No! It is above the Scriptures and the Book of Concord - and against both.

Walther, The American Calvin: A Synod Built on Felonies

Part Two: Election without Faith, Walther Usurping the Book of Concord

Walther’s final move toward Calvinism also expressed his domineering personality, not unlike Stephan’s. Just as Stephan insisted he was the only Means of Grace in Germany, which was thus entirely lacking grace when he was gone, so Walther became the ultimate authority in his synod and those he could control. The Missouri Synod continues to treat Walther as the one who “answers all questions.” But they also partake in the crafts and assaults of modern apostate Biblical criticism and theology. Seminex won their battle because the foundation of the synod was poor in the beginning, like the creaking and leaning Millennial Tower in San Francisco.

Some indications of this trait are when Walther:

1.     Became the enforcer for Stephan, so he meted out punishment when the other pastors and teachers offended the future bishop.

2.     Decided a woman should divorce her husband, causing a lot of conflict in the parish.

3.     Kidnapped his niece and nephew from his father’s parsonage, to take them along to America, “because they wanted to go.”

4.     Used Stephan’s lawyers and Walther’s future mother-in-law to hide the children, letting the mother-in-law go to jail while he evaded the police warrant. She was not allowed on the ship by Stephan, who made her come with the later group.

5.     Signed the paper to make Stephan the bishop.

6.     Organized the St. Louis mob to arrive in Perryville to drive away Bishop Stephan.

7.     Used the real estate agent to conduct the kangaroo court dismissing Stephan.

8.     Robbed the bishop of all his land (120 acres), books, personal possessions, and gold, which gave the sect a library and a small fortune to avoid bankruptcy.

9.     Created division with his Calvinistic Election without Faith on the topic of Election, against the expressed statement written by Martin Chemnitz and supported by the editors and signers of the Book of Concord.[1]

[1] Walther’s Easter Absolution of the World is supported by the Pietist Rambach and Jay Webber, by opposed by Martin Chemnitz exegesis of 1 Timoth 3:16. Walther is consist in his error of going against Chemnitz – and the Scriptures – here.

Walther, Calvinism, and Pietism

Part Two – Objective Justification – The Calvinist Dogma Adopted by Walther

Calvin’s Weak Foundation

Calvin’s fatal flaws are easily recognized in two areas, and they certainly blend with Pietism as the main ingredients of that error. The first flaw is foundational – denying the Holy Spirit always at work with the Word. The second flaw is related to the first – rejecting the Sacraments and describing them as laws or ordinances.[1] Pietism is directly related to both flaws, as are other denominations and quasi-Christian cults like the Adventists.

The efficacy of the Word is a Biblical truth, not an opinion based on feelings. This truth is taught in many settings in the Scriptures, starting with Creation. God’s Word of Creation is the Logos of John 1.

Genesis 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

John 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The Gospel of John is a commentary on the Books of Moses. The Pentateuch is divinely woven into John’s Gospel and the Fourth Gospel thoroughly reveals the Gospel message of the Pentateuch through the Spirit. The I AM of Exodus 3 is the I AM of Jesus’ sermons, and His clear answer to the opponents, “Before Abraham was, I AM.” John 8.58

Isaiah 55 teaches the ever-present efficacy of the Word, which is like the rain and snow, always having a powerful, inevitable, and undeniable effect.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

The Promise is three-fold:

1.      God’s Word is never without an effect; the Holy Spirit is always united with it.

2.      The Word always accomplishes God’s own purpose.

3.      The Word always prospers the work God intends.

The power of teaching and preaching the Word is the same, but related to its fidelity to the Scriptures. The purer the message, the more effective it is. The more the Word is watered down and sugared up, the less effect – because it is man’s idea rather than God’s thoughts. Paul’s preaching was not in word only, but in power and the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 1:5. The effectiveness is known and experienced:

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13

One cannot deny the efficacy of God’s Word, or judge it by using human reason, and remain faithful to the Scriptural message.

Calvinists imagine that mankind may judge the Scriptures with their human reason, quite alien from the concept of using our intellectual powers to understand the Bible.[2] We should subordinate our thoughts to His thoughts, as Isaiah 55:8 teaches. In contrast, the magisterial use of reason leads to rationalism and Unitarianism. Ultimately, judging the Bible will end with all religions being the same or no religions being allowed, because all religions are considered toxic.[3]

The Sacraments, as the visible Word of God, suffer the same consequences from reason ruling over the Word. Zwingli and Calvin mocked them. Zwingli declared the Holy Spirit does not need a vehicle – like an oxcart. The issue is not what God needs but what God  has revealed in His mysteries.

Likewise, Calvin in his Institutes mocked the Real Presence in Holy Communion, unable to comprehend (like the rest of us) how Christ could not only be spiritually present but also bodily present in the elements consecrated by God’s powerful Word in the liturgy.

Pietism Is the Lutheran Face of Calvinism

When the leaders of Pietism placed their emphasis on the small group – for prayer and Bible study - they regarded the congregation as the place where groups were organized. The cell group is the real church for Pietists. The groups replaced the Word and Sacraments as the Means of Grace and subtly made Zwingli and Calvin their theologians. State churches passed conventicle acts against the cell groups, which increased the feeling of persecution and separatism.

Spener was the first union theologian, so the mission societies of Pietism brought to America a friendly attitude toward Calvinism and its methods, which led to many union efforts. Congregations were started as Evangelical (Lutheran) and Reformed (Calvinist) in their titles, a matter of embarrassment and change later.[4]  Pietists formed most of the Lutheran bodies which are now merged, and they now work together – sub rosa – while gaining access to the merged Lutheran mutual insurance company, also born of Pietism.

Two Dogmas Related to Pietism Demonstrate the Calvinism of CFW Walther

Strangely, the LCMS and WELS had a history and official policy of teaching Justification by Faith, which is only natural as the Chief Article of Christianity and the pivotal doctrine of the Lutheran Reformation. This is clear throughout the Bible and especially clear in the epistles of Paul and Romans.

CFW Walther taught the dogma passed onto him from Pastor Martin Stephan, which was taught at his mentor’s Halle University. This is called:

·        Objective Justification

·        General Justification

·        The Justification of the Sinner

·        The Justification of the World

·        Universal Objective Justification

There are some astounding differences. God absolved the entire world the moment Jesus died - or - the moment He rose from the dead. No one addresses the contradictions, but they abhor Justification by Faith. Everyone has been absolved from sin, back to Adam, and all the people suffering in Hell are innocent, saved, absolved. For additional hyperbole, they number Hitler and other miscreants as saints in Hell, including the residents of Sodom and Gomorah. A favorite quotation of the younger Robert Preus came from Edward Preuss, writing that everyone is born forgiven of sin. The best clarification came from ELS Pastor Steve Brockdorf, who complained that a former member did not equate the Atonement with Justification. That is really key to the error today, shared joyfully by ELCA, that Jesus dying on the cross means everyone in the world is forgiven, without faith, without the Gospel, without the Means of Grace.

The other part of this dogma is Subjective Justification, almost entirely ignored, because it has become meaningless, a vestigial organ without a function. Officially, Subjective Justification means that one must make a decision to accept Objective Justification to be really justified. If that sounds bizarre, as it should, we only need to look at the influential theologian of Pietism, whose Calvinist translator used and explained the two terms. Walther liked the terms, which made their way to Germany and back, and the Synodical Conference adopted OJ and SJ, as they are called today.

Objective and Subjective Justification Are Calvinism

[1] When WELS wanted to start a mission congregation in Michigan, without Lutheran in its name, they used the term ordinances. They hired anti-Lutheran pastors, who were Church Growth enthusiasts. Soon the “Lutheran” mission belonged to a non-Lutheran denomination and thanked the WELS pastors on their gloating website for establishing their congregation. WELS started a Catholic church the same way in Coral Springs, Florida.

[2] The ministerial use of reason seeks to understand the Scriptures as God speaking directly to us. The magisterial use of reason demands that we make the Word of God reasonable, relevant, and appealing.

[3] The American Humanist Association considers all religions to be dangerous and harmful to mankind. The similar Freedom From Religion foundation featured a former WELS Church Growth pastor.

[4] Masonic Lodge membership, which welcomed all religions, was common among the Lutheran congregations and pastors in Ohio and Pennsylvania. WELS, the LCMS, and the ELS have supported the Lodge while closing their eyes to this now fading phenomenon.
