In a recent blog post, you included several examples of items from the Concordia Publishing House catalog for Reformation 500 that show disdain for Martin Luther and the Reformation.

I would nominate for inclusion in the Hall of Shame the following item which is still available from the CPH website:
Luther's Rose Men's dress socks. Includes the words “Here I stand” on the bottom.

 

One needs to have shameless disdain for Martin Luther and his work to come up with something like this, mocking Luther's most famous statement, and then merchandising it through the LCMS book store.

  
I was very disappointed that the LCMS and other Lutheran bodies did not promote Martin Luther and his teachings in 2017. The 500^th anniversary of the Reformation was a golden opportunity to do so, but they did not. As you wrote, Lutheran synodical leaderships have lost faith in the efficacy of God's Word. They don't believe in what they publicly profess.
  
Several months ago I bought and read your book Catholic, Lutheran, and Protestant. I found it to be a very good description of the differences between Roman Catholicism, Lutheranism, and Protestantism/Calvinism. And I found it to be a very good exposition of confessional Lutheran principles.

I wrote a review in Amazon and I made the point that if the Lutheran denominations couldn't muster the energy to promote their own doctrines, then they would have done well simply to carpet-bomb America with your book: a clear, straight-forward exposition of Lutheran theology that any layman could pick up, read, and understand.

Upcoming Books - Martin Chemnitz Press

When apostates frown, good news.

The Lost Dutchman's Goldmine is moving ahead full speed. This book will feature a summary of Luther's Biblical doctrine of the Word. The Book of Concord generation continued Luther's fine work - Chemntiz, Chytraeus, Leyser - and it extended to Gerhard, who completed Chemnitz' Harmony.

But  the Calvinist influence in Pietism weakened the purity of this clear, plain witness, and we see the results today. Pietists like Rambach and Knapp were all too appealing to two sides at once - the Calvinists and the Lutherans. What a nice blend, except the very truths of the Lutheran Reformation were sacrificed in the name of cooperation.

1. Where does UOJ come from? Pietism.
2. Where do cell groups come from? Pietism.
3. Where does contempt for Luther's doctrine come from? Pietism.
4. Halle Pietism turned into anti-Biblical rationalism, so the Synodical Conference is following ELCA down the same road.
5. Notice how the Pietistic Evangelicals are embracing Left-wing activism to prove they are relevant and up to date. That is like Jesus and the apostles advocating homosexuality and abortion because both were dominant in the Roman Empire.
