You’ll recall Stanley previously made waves for encouraging Christians to “unhitch” themselves from portions of Old Testament Scripture, denied the Genesis account, saying God only said it to ‘accommodate to our capacity,’ repeatedly told his congregants, ‘I’m not arguing that the bible is correct,’ told them it doesn’t matter if the bible is true, so long as it’s ‘mostly reliable,’ that they shouldn’t follow Jesus through the Old Testament but only through the gospels, and told his church the ‘foundation of our faith is not the whole bible.’

He also lamented that the ‘entire bible’ has become the church’s ‘authority,’ claimed the bible is not equally inspired or equally important, and even argued that demanding potential converts believe the bible is true and without error is an unnecessary obstacle to them coming to Christ. He also argued that Jesus’ birth and the events surrounding the nativity don’t really matter, thus casting doubt upon his supernatural birth by saying “If somebody can predict their own death and then their own resurrection, I’m not all that concerned about how they got into the world” and “Christianity doesn’t hinge on the truth or even the stories around the Birth of Jesus.”‘

All that doesn’t include the mountain of pro-LGBTQ rhetoric seen in these endnotes.

From 2007 - DP Not So Excited about Michigan Lutheran Seminary

According to my source (Grey Goose) Michigan DP John Seifert did not seem energetic in his support for Michigan Lutheran Seminary.

I find little difference between LCMS District Popes, WELS District Popes, and ELCA bishops. All have seized the power to kick pastors out of the ministry without cause (except the pastors' valid criticisms of the synod). All three synodical types seem to think their job is to be loyal to and worshipful toward the organization. "I love the (fill in the blank) synod" is a good career motto. Expressing a few reservations is good - tossing red meat to the base - but those reservations mean nothing.

Michigan DP Robert Mueller, a tireless bungler, saw his district vote down four different resolutions in favor of amalgamation (DMLC taking over NWC). He did everything possible to get a positive vote. Then he spoke at the national convention in favor of amalgamation. The pastors stopped speaking to him. They even left the room when he entered. So he declined to run. He got a free trip to Russia, supposedly as a missionary. Ha. Now Gurgel is going to do "mission work" overseas. Ah, that sounds so much better than a long, synod-paid vacation.

Another synod cipher stepped in when Mueller declined to run. I mean, Seifert stepped in. He worships the Wisconsin Synod, as all the officials do.

Seifert was such a loyal circuit pastor that he never noticed Bivens (same circuit) defending Church Growth and bragging about going to Fuller Seminary. Seifert heard it in his own driveway, but he forgot the episode twice. Bivens forgot too, because he could not imagine why I thought he went to Fuller Seminary. Good career move, Frosty.

When initial efforts were being made to close down MLS, John Lawrenz, then the president of the school, said this, "We are willing to accept any role the synod gives us." He waved the white flag at his own school, at the district meeting! Soon he was president of DMLC for one month, head of Worker Training, and seminary professor. For some reason he was soon out of Mequon and teaching in Russia and Asia. Obviously, pulling the plug on his own school was not a bad career move.

APPLETON - The CORE is not your average church.

For one thing, it's a converted bar. Walking in, you might think of it as more of a lounge to hang out with friends than a house of worship. 

And it's about to take center stage on the nationally-syndicated broadcast program "Time of Grace" as its pastor, Mike Novotny, takes the role as its lead speaker. 

 Eight WELS clones, including the rotten Appletons, attended the same Andy Stanley re-education camp. Andy denies infant faith but he has a big D-Day for dedicating babies, with professional photographs. Oh, Andy, you came and you gave without taking.

"It’s humbling in a sense," Novotny said. "I’m just a dude from Green Bay who loves Jesus and I want to talk to people about it. It’s a really amazing opportunity for me."

Novotny will replace founding speaker, the Rev. Mark Jeske of Milwaukee, who served as lead speaker for 18 years.

The 38-year-old Novotny said his mission at the CORE is not to preach, but to invite others to learn about faith and work toward building a relationship with God. He wants to bring that same message to TV viewers.  

Lutherdom is waiting anxiously for Starr to find a new topic.

Former Cottage Grove ELCA pastor pleads guilty in federal child porn case – Twin Cities

and a very light sentence with work release time.

"Investigators linked Helker to the case through a Facebook profile, which included an All Saints email address that was used in the international porn exchange. Investigators found evidence of pornography involving children as young as 5 years old.

Upon Helker’s arrest, All Saints quickly placed him on administrative leave and then dismissed him. The church issued a statement that in part asked for “prayers for all affected.”

Authorities executed search warrants at the church and at Helker’s home in Pine City, about 75 miles north of Cottage Grove. There they found a laptop with 120 gigabytes of data, most of which appeared to be child pornography images and videos.

The federal court plea agreement notes that Helker had 900 child porn images and 300 child porn videos in his possession, and that he created “sexually explicit collages” with superimposed photos of four known juveniles. "

Carol Theisen Scott, I grew up Catholic, and lived as a person with no hope for 39 years, because the " church " gave me only the Law, as above. And then, I was given a Bible, and found the second part of I Corinthians, " And such were some of you: BUT you are washed, BUT you are sanctified, BUT you are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.... Flee fornication... Know you not that your body is a temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." Satan knows God's Word, too, BUT he will not quote the Gospel, God's loving mercy and grace, given freely to us weak and undeserving people. Love you, Scott. Don't buy the lies of the world, created by the "father of lies."

Jim Buss Scott, that is a key part of the Gospel message. Another aspect is that the "cure" for homosexuality isn't hetrosexuality, it is holiness. The "cure" for gossip is not holding your tongue, it is holiness. If holiness is our desire then all sins are the same.
