WELS at War Against Its Most Honored--
And Forgotten--Theologian, Hoenecke

"Those who defend a false union assert that while practicing unionistic fellowship one can still cling firmly to the true confession, that unionism is not then synonymous with indifferentism. This is an illusion, even as experience has sufficiently shown that a false union opens the doors wide to indifferentism. And how could it be otherwise?"
Adolf Hoenecke, Dogmatik III, p. 441f.

And thereby comes the future open union between the Lutheran Synods and the Roman Catholic Church. There are few in the Lutheran Synodical Churches that will declare those who make a confession faithful to the RCC and the Antichrist condemned to Hell and separated from God. They are unwilling or unable to clearly state the firm and Scriptural result of holding to a false central doctrine. It is a sign of the end times and a direct result in trusting a false gospel and placing man and his institutions above and master over Christ and His Word.
