WELS and LCMS Boast Their Fidelity to the Scriptures and the Book of Concord, But Their Leaders, Pastors, and So-Called Scholars Repudiate the Word of God and the Confessions.

This snip-n-clip version of the Bible came from WELS and proves to be exactly what Missouri and WELS have been practicing for many decades.

Missouri and WELS promoted the NIV first, and then the newer, even worser NIV. Were they touchy about the National Council of Churches RSV?

No, they also like the ESV, which is almost the same. Luther emphasized the Traditional Text while the Evil Four plus Beck Bibles adopted the ludicrous Sinaiticus and the fraudulent Vaticanus texts. Apparently, Missouri and WELS love removing and distorting verses when they can erase faith and divinity of Christ passages.

Why did Missouri need to publish the Kolb-Wengert Book of Concord? Is there concord (harmony) with ELCA and the LCMS?

Missouri and WELS began with Justification by Faith, no matter what they claim today. The Walther leaven, inherited from the syphilitic bishop Martin Stephan, worked its way slowly through the system. Walther never let go of it, and F. Pieper institutionalized it.

WELS and the Missouri Synod have no claim on the Scriptures or the Book of Concord. No one said it better than the David P. Scaer, the David P. Scaer Professor of Hogwash at Concordia Seminary, Ft. Wayne.

Here Is a Lesson for Everyone - A Book - The Book of Books - The KJV for Everyone at Every Age

Today I was thinking about books - they arrive faster than I can read, and I have a backlog of favorite books I could read again. I thought of the boxed edition of The Byzantine Empire, by John Julius Norwich, fascinating and appealing in every way. However, I gave it for Christmas to someone equally a bookworm. I read the volumes twice already.

I will read Moby Dick another time in the future, just because it is the gold standard of novels, fun, full of information, and loaded with droll observations. I didn't give it away? I gave it away at least five times and got it again, because "used" copies of it float along the used book market. Like The Pilgrim's Progress, I can get it for a bargain.

Walther gladly followed Bishop Martin Stephan, STD, until CFW had a chance to steal Stephan's land, gold, books, house, and personal possessions. The Great Walther was a great thief, liar, and kidnapper - his niece and nephew.

When I think about books to read at this stage in life, I start with the only one where God is speaking directly, inerrantly, and efficaciously. Moreover, the beautiful language of the KJV is clear and powerful. The book buskers have weaned several generations of Bible readers away from the KJV because of the profiteers' lust for the loot grabbed by their uninspired, tawdry paraphrases: ESV, RSV, NRSV, NIV and Beck.

Is not the wisest of all books the only one where God speaks to us directly? I have nixed several hundred articles with evidence about the synods, sects, and diocesan costume parties. Why? Because they simply keep repeating their corruption through osmosis, moving from one location to another, without much difference. The semi-permeable membrane is called "moving to a better synod." Excuse me. I have to stop for a few minutes to stop laughing.

Church history is fascinating but too much like a bag of Fritos - hard to stop after the first few crunches, but utterly lacking in nutrition. Objective (faithless) Justification has been taught by all the synods and the high Roman church with great pleasure by the leaders and their Grima Wormtongues. The best counter to the anti-Gospel Universalism of the day is the KJV.

Yes, little children can read the KJV. We translate words for children all the time, and their teen elders explain new words to parents and grandparents, without trying to halt the ever-changing English language.

I was amused in reading the Psalms by the claim we cannot understand the KJV. In a Psalm about evil people, two words were as clear as could be - "aha aha" and "wink." Aha, aha is used in a popular German rock song, called "Da, da, da" - an earworm of the worst kind.

KJV Psalm 35:19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

KJV Psalm 35: 20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land. 21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

The wink is used when people are sharing a lie together. I have seen that wink in solemn church conferences and doctors' offices.

We do not harm people by using the KJV, but we damage the transmission of the Gospel by using the corrupted Greek New Testament promoted by  the fraudulent deceiver Count Tischendorf, the anti-Christian Westcott-Hort team, and the German apostate Kurt Aland. Professor Beck followed the same blind alleys and is still making money for the Otten Foundation.

The Jewish scholars were and are fanatical about the transmission of the Old Testament. Do Christians really believe that God allowed the Greek New Testament to be so utterly lost that Billy Graham could stupidly say, "The originals are lost, so we no longer have the original Gospel"?

Was God so lax with the ultimate revelation of the New Testament that he let heretics confuse, muddle, and betray the 27 books from the Apostles? "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Word will never pass away."

KJV Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Those who whine when bemoaning the loss of the true New Testament are just like the Mormons, lying to lead everyone down their own cultish dark path.

Reporters and Researchers Are Stepping Up and Catching Up

You wondered what happened to your hippie nephew?

I find a lot of news on the collapse of the mainline denominations, not just the radical Left National Council of Churches - home of the RSV, NRSV, and ESV - but also semi-hemi-quasi-conservative groups (LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC).

The Midwestern Lutherans thought they would grow from people fleeing the ELCA. However, the ELCA began with 5.3 million members in 1987 and dropped to under 3 million today, without donating members to the Midwestern synods, who were eagerly copying ELCA in every way. That might be a reason.

The LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC went ga-ga for Fuller's Church Growth toxins, which were eagerly promoted also by ELCA. I remember one WELS leader talking about the ELCA leaders he knew quite well, not exactly the icy and threatening Left Foot of Fellowship advertised by WELS. Through Fuller and Thrivent, all these men and women worked together on the same identical, anti-Christian ideas. To be fair, it was leftover Calvinism and mendacious marketing, but that always leads to rejection of the Scriptures and the efficacy of the Word.

The Midwestern attempts to have newer, bigger, more Calvinistic hymnals has been a ruse to sell more books and make some money.

The Midwestern Lutherans also reject the KJV and embrace the RSV, ESV, NRSV, and NIV - the Evil Four. I laugh when people offer up the ESV as an improvement over the NIV. That is like choosing a better and more nutricious slice of roadkill for supper.

Nothing in the works is going to help the Lutheran synods. Their corporate leadership is corrupt, dishonest, and always eager to cover up crimes. The intellectual (sic) leaders are antagonistic toward the Lutheran Reformation, the KJV, and Biblical doctrine.

B16 ached to wear the papal tiara, the symbol of his power over all nations - at least in his mind. Many Lutheran leaders fashion themselves as popes or mini-popes: infallible, all-powerful, humorless.

The Three Stooges of Text and Translation Paraphrasing
aka Dynamic Equivalence

The Three Stooges - explained in the post below - being startled by the KJV and Justification by Faith.

The issue is more important than Martin Luther and all the theologians and scholars. The only revelation of God is the Old and New Testaments, each one so intertwined with the other that they are truly one divine unit, the Book of the Holy Spirit.

Billy Graham made a terrible mistake when he caviled with "inerrancy of the original manuscripts, which we no longer have." A second or two of discussion might have reminded him about the extreme care given by the rabbis in counting every word and letter of the original Hebrew text before the copies could be certified as accurate.

The LCMS-WELS-ELS Stooges might consider the 5,000 witnesses of the Majority Text (Apostolic, Traditional, or Byzantine Text) versus Codex Sinaiticus (fraud) or Codex Vaticanus (the newer Latin copied into Greek to harmonize two factions).

The Nestle-Aland-Stooge Greek New Testament is nothing more than the intellectual belches of Wescott and Hort, two anti-Christian crackpots who invented a bunch of rules which have proven to be utterly worthless.

The Evil Four paraphrases are -

  • RSV  - National Council of Churches license
  • ESV  - National Council of Churches license
  • NRSV - National Council of Churches license
  • NIV  - Murdoch, then other profiteers.
The Three Stooges love the Nestle-Aland Stooge Greek New Testament because they follow the Left-Wing apostates from ELCA, the Episcopalians, the Unitarians, the Roman Catholics, and the rest.

The King James Version is excellent in its use of trustworthy copies and its steadfast handling of the English language. The Evil Four do not agree with each other and keep changing their own paraphrases.

All of the information above proves the foolishness and ignorance of the Three Synodical Stooges. God promised to guard His Word, and Jesus said, "Heaven and earth may pass away, but My Word will never pass away." Matthew 24:35

Moreover, the Scriptures are effective, but the Calvinistic and Roman Catholic minds do not accept the efficacy, clarity, and inerrancy of the Sacred Scriptures. In their Unitarian blasphemy, the synods give some credit to the Bible for raising cash but repudiate its message with unseemly sloppiness and juvenile slogans.

Note that the engorged and bloated dogmatics books show a lot of love for each other but little for the Scriptures. ELCA's dogma - so bad they try to deny it - is Braaten-Jenson. That travesty is no better or worse than Franz Goober Pieper, who was clawed into power by the Great Walther Himself.

Types of KJV Bibles To Own - The Cost Is Often in the Leather Cover

Most KJVs are double column on each page. Several KJVs are single column on each page.

Some are KJV Thompson Chain Reference, which was the only KJV TCR at the beginning. I do not recommend anything else than KJV. The TCR is the work of several men and has value as a Bible-plus-concordance (word studies) put together.

Super Giant Print is the largest font - the one I use on the lectern.

Giant Print is large but by no means giant.

Some Bibles are smaller so the fonts are smaller and compact. That kind is more portable but less readable for us older readers.

Bible covers have a great impact on the cost of a Bible.

I have not checked all of these changes, but this points out the basic fact there is a NKJV bridge to the modern Bibles but no modern Bible (the Evil Four) bridge to the KJV.

The seriously corrupted modern Bibles are:
  1. NIV
  2. ESV - Leftist National Council of Churches
  3. RSV - Leftist National Council of Churches
  4. NRSV - Leftist National Council of Churches
The Beck and the EHV are jokes, but nobody is laughing.

The New Bibles Are Not For You - Those Post-Modern Paraphrases Are For Them!

Ordination - aren't we having fun?
The Lutheran leaders, ELCA and ELCiC are seated. The previous Episcopal Bishops of Canada and the US are standing.

+++

WELS used this snip-and-clip Bible graphic to warn people against their own policy of promoting and requiring the odious new NIV, the worst paraphrase to use. Sure, there are others worthy of projectile vomiting, but they do not have the marketing horsepower to sell them on a major scale. The KJV and its cousins clobber the NIV, the Marxist-Woke RSV, NRSV, and ESV put together. And you trust those leaders? Ha.

We teach forgiveness without faith - it is in Romans. At least, it is now.

Let's get one thing straight. The Bibles being forced on denominations, colleges, and seminaries are not sold because people are clamoring for new chock-full-of-holes paraphrases.

A new Bible sold on a large scale is a license to print money. The awesome, cool array of Youth Bibles, Women's Study Bibles, and Holy Spirit Bibles are almost 100% cash for the publishers and those who kiss up to them - the denominations, colleges, and seminaries.

As a micro-mini non-profit publisher, I can say this - five thousand Bibles cost a bit more to print than a thousand - or five hundred. Once those presses get going, a book costs no more than its paper and ink.

Those Bibles are the cereal aisle of the supermarket - rainbow colors, variations, sizes, packaging, and graphics to make the younglings break out into tantrums to get them - but still junk.

The only way to make this happen is to entice and bribe the decision-makers. I recall John Jeske, father of Mark and Avoid Jeske, bragging about his free trip to Israel for supporting the old NIV. Who knows what else is given away to keep the denominational officers and professors mellow, happy, and purring like the cat who found the cream?

The denominational leaders will deny their corruption, but the evidence is there to admire or loathe.

Forcing horrible butchered Bibles on all the denominations is simply one aspect of Romanism and apostasy being injected into the membership and clergy.

The clergy are too ignorant to argue for or against Bible translations, especially the Greek New Testament text. Someone is selling his collection of Greek New Testament texts and books on Facebook - $225. The entire collection promotes Westcott-Hort, Nestle-Aland, and the modern apostates: not one suggestion about the KJV or Majority Text.

LCMS-WELS - They Cling To Their ESV-NIVs Because of the Kickbacks from the Publishers.

The Most Popular and Fastest Growing Bible Translation Isn't What You Think It Is

NIV vs. KJV: Surveys and searches suggest the translation that most Americans are reading is actually not the bookstore bestseller.

When Americans reach for their Bibles, more than half of them pick up a King James Version (KJV), according to a new study advised by respected historian Mark Noll.

The 55 percent who read the KJV easily outnumber the 19 percent who read the New International Version (NIV). And the percentages drop into the single digits for competitors such as the New Revised Standard Version, New America Bible, and the Living Bible.

So concludes "The Bible in American Life," a lengthy report by the Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Funded by the Lilly Foundation, researchers asked questions on what David Briggs of the ARDA, which first reported the results, calls "two of the most highly respected data sources for American religion"—the General Social Survey and the National Congregations Study

I Remember That King James Bible at Home

We had a breakfast nook at home in Moline, which served as my mother's office for grading papers, which she did with speed and efficiency. An electric typewriter was there for some work, and bookshelves filled the upper half of one wall.

The more useful books were there, including a set of encyclopedias. She said, "I read a whole set once," and I had no reason to doubt her.

The King James Bible was there, so I often saw it with a paper cover on it, somewhat like the graphic at the top. I was curious about the Authorized Version on the front page. That happens to be one of the strange aspects of that sub-title. That was not the official title, but it seems to be the favorite in England, just as KJV is here.

The back and forth of critics, good and bad, made me reminisce about the musical, majestic tone of the KJV. I tried my hand at translating some books of the New Testament. I learned - tis easier to imagine a better translation than to execute one.

Can anyone improve on the KJV's 23rd Psalm, John 10 - I am the Good Shepherd, The Lord's Prayer, and 1 Corinthians 13 - the love chapter perfectly recited at Princess Diane's wedding?

I remember little tidbits from the past - the doxology from the Lord's Prayer - "Oh that was taken from the Didache, an early Christian document."

Going over the historical trickery used against the Majority Text - I thought - "More likely the Didache took the doxology from Matthew!" So why do Roman Catholics not use the doxology to the Lord's Prayer and we retain it? There is a very long history of papal corruption of the apostolic Majority Text. It is much easier to corrupt by erasing than by adding clumsy extra words - the ending of Mark, the woman caught in adultery, the Johannine comma, and the Lord's Prayer doxology.

If I could take everyone through each erasure in the NIV, the precious ESV, and the RSV, each would be shocked beyond belief, that such flagrant pilfering has taken place by the very people who praise themselves for being "scientific, exacting, scholars of the text." The erased words are directly related to faith in Christ and His divinity.

Even more laughable is how these masters of deceit have achieved the most perfect text (cobbled together as if by drunks, skunks, and enfeebled monks) and the most glorious dynamic equivalent translation, yet they differ from each other hundred or thousands of times, and differ from their own previous efforts hundreds more times.

The Majority Text was preserved by the Christian Church, from the Apostolic Era onward, and beautifully expressed in the King James Version.

The modern paraphrases, passed off as translations, come from corrupt and fraudulent sources (Vaticanus - a LCMS fave; Sinaiticus - pure fraud; the Vulgate - Rome again!). Who prints these disasters? - Profiteering Bible businesses do - and their greedy denominational sponsors.

"Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" - Earl of Oxford, Stage Name Shakespeare

 "There's Take Off Pounds Sensibly,
or Photoshop, or just using old photos."

We are all salted and peppered with Shakespeare, the pen name for the Earl of Oxford. I like to mention the truth about the bard to get certain people eager to send raging emails. Of all the writers of English literature, Shakespeare had the highest vocabulary - greater than Milton's - yet we are supposed to think a stage actor wrote the plays and sonnets of Shakespeare?

The fact that we think of Shakespearean phrases at odd times is a good reminder that the same level of literature is found in the King James Version of the Bible.

I sent Reading the Psalms with Luther (CPH) to someone, because it is a good, quick guide. However, the Psalms in that book are English Standard Version, a Bible owned by the extreme Leftwing National Council of Churches, just a cute avoidance of the squalid RSV and the New RSV. The ESV Psalms read like Beavis and Butthead translating Shakespeare so dolts like us can understand him better.

Naturally CPH did not use their classic The Lutheran Hymnal with the Psalms but quoted the watered down Lutheran Service Book.

I noticed that Bruce Cameron edited the volume. He was the editor who told me I could never publish through Concordia Publishing House because I contributed to Christian News. That was funny, because Jack Preus and Ralph Bohlmann and Al Berry became synod president by working with, flattering, and coaching Herman Otten. Matt the Fatt did the same later, ending with calling Herman a crazy liar.

Matt the Fatt earned his title by running old photos of himself 50 pounds lighter while eating like it was becoming obsolete.

Put Down That National Council of Churches ESV - English Standard Version

The ESV is sold as KJV-like, but it relies on the
translation of the National Council of Churches, the Revised Standard Version, which began by erasing the Virgin Birth in Isaiah 7:10.

Does the English Standard Version Stand in the Classic Mainstream of English Bible Translations?

By L. Brigden, Senior Editorial Consultant (Linguistics)

Also available to be read as a PDF

I will quote some of the article below, because it is written so well:

+++

The First Departure: Textual Basis

"While the ESV claims to build upon the Tyndale and Authorised (King James) Version tradition, it is in fact based upon the Revised Standard Version, itself a revision of the Revised Version, and neither the Revised Version nor the Revised Standard Version can be reasonably considered a continuation of the Tyndale-AV tradition, but represent on the contrary a dramatic break from that tradition.5 This fact was clearly recognised by some scholars at the time of the Revised Version,6 and since that time has been acknowledged by numerous others.7 But this dramatic break in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations is quietly passed over by the publishers of the ESV.

Those acquainted with the history of the Revised Version are aware that Westcott and Hort, two influential scholars on the committee convened by the Anglican Church to undertake the revision of the Authorised (King James) Version, acted quite contrary to their instructions which charged them to make no change in the textual basis of the revision except where absolutely necessary.8 On the contrary, they quite boldly changed it, supplanting the Received Text with their own Critical Text.

Remarkably the Anglican Church, instead of protesting the unprincipled actions of these two men, mildly acquiesced in their boldness and accepted the work of revision.9 Subsequently and sadly, most other churches have also acquiesced and silently passed over the weighty and still unanswered objections raised against Westcott and Hort’s work. Thus, ‘truth is fallen in the street’ (Isaiah 59.14) and an unsubstantiated textual theory seems to have swept all before it, displacing the time honoured Received Text of the church with a newly devised, and never before generally received, Critical Text. And thus to this day the Critical Text still holds sway, even though the premises upon which Westcott and Hort’s theory relied have long since been found to be unsubstantiated."

and later -

The textual style of the ESV is from the RSV, whose lineage is Westcott-Hort's imagination, not the Majority Text.

"The Second Departure: Formal Equivalence and Gender Neutral Language

The ESV claims that it is ‘an “essentially literal” translation that seeks as far as possible to capture the precise wording of the original text and the personal style of each Bible writer’.33 This is, of course, to claim to follow the principle of formal equivalence. But on closer examination it becomes evident that there are a significant number of times when the ESV does not ‘capture the precise wording of the original text’, but clearly departs from that wording and from the principle of formal equivalence. The reason is to be found in the ESV’s compliance with ‘gender neutral’ language.

Translation of anthropos

We begin by examining how the Greek word ἄνθρωπος (anthropos) is translated in the ESV. The word is frequently translated in the ESV as the gender neutral word ‘person’, whereas the AV translates it as ‘man’. For example, at 1 Corinthians 2.11:

AV: For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?

ESV: For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him?"

The ESV leans on Eugene Nida's demand for "dynamic equivalence" - his smokescreen for changing everything.

This was created in Spanish to pave the way for English translations to be just as unfaithful to the KJV tradition of precise translation.

"The Colorado Springs Guidelines

The adoption of gender neutral language in the ESV can be traced to its adherence to the Colorado Springs Guidelines,40 which were drawn up in 1997 in response to such gender neutral translations as the New International Version Inclusive (NIVI) which first appeared in 1995. While the Colorado Springs Guidelines objected to the more extreme implementation of the feminist philosophy in Bible translation, they still complied with feminist philosophy so far as to allow the translator, at least on occasions, to avoid gender specific terms such as ‘man’ and ‘he’ even though such terms were literal translations of the Greek. This was done on the grounds that the modern English language tended to avoid generic ‘man’ and ‘he’ and it was felt that by continuing to use such words some misunderstanding might arise. But this was simply a partial compliance with feminism and an acceptance of the advances which that un-biblical philosophy had already made on modern society.

This compliance is evident from guidelines 5, 6 and 7 in part A of the Colorado Springs Guidelines which are as follows.

5. In many cases, anthropoi refers to people in general, and can be translated as “people” rather than “men”. The singular anthropos should ordinarily be translated “man” when it refers to a male human being.

6. Indefinite pronouns such as tis can be translated “anyone” rather than “any man”.

7. In many cases, pronouns such as oudeis can be translated “no one” rather than “no man”.

The allowance given by these guidelines to the use of the more gender neutral terms ‘people’, ‘anyone’ and ‘no one’ instead of the distinctively masculine terms ‘men’, ‘any man’ and ‘no man’ cannot be justified on linguistic grounds alone. The influence of feminism upon the wording of these guidelines is therefore quite evident. As we have already remarked, there is no warrant for νθρωποι (anthropoi) being translated as ‘people’. The correct translation is ‘men’. "

GJ - Those who have fallen for the ESV are trying to distance themselves from the even worse NIV. ELDONA is just as bad as the NCC Left-wing churches and the supposedly conservative WELS-LCMS-ELS-ELCA. All the organized Lutherans shun, repudiate, and reject the King James and the Majority Text, but their praise bands and Calvinist hymnals will save the day, they think.

 OH! I see! ESV!

The Luther-Tyndale-KJV tradition has been abandoned by the Dick, Jane, and Sally apostate leaders.

Good News for Modern Man was written this way. Go away Nida-soldiers, Go Go Go.
