D2L Chosen to Provide Learning Management by Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago

Kitchener, Waterloo, Jan. 21, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Global learning technology leader D2L announced today that the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) has selected Brightspace as their learning management system after a competitive process.

Founded in 1962, LSTC is a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is based in Chicago, Illinois. Its mission is to form visionary leaders to bear witness to Jesus Christ. It does this through its public church curriculum, a diverse, community-focused educational experience. LSTC searched for a learning management system that would make their move to a completely online curriculum as seamless as possible for students, faculty and staff.

“Moving to fully online course delivery was a tremendous challenge, but one we’ve had to embrace because of the realities of COVID-19 and our commitment to the safety of our people and the communities we serve, together with our belief in our educational mission,” says Dr. Eric J. GJ - I was destined to attend LSTC but went to Kitchener-Waterloo with my bride, Mrs. Ichabod.

Little Waterloo Seminary is now Martin Luther University Seminary in the same building - and still tiny.

WELS thought their "felt needs" were ahead of the pack. No, everyone went down together. All that chaff was designed to inject radical apostate dogma.

This was the new building when we arrived, 50 years ago, with a combined MSW program. They did some remodeling to call the building a university. The rest of the campus was Waterloo Lutheran U. but was renamed Wilfred Laurier to get more gubmint funds.

The Waterloo chapel had pews and a pipe organ, but they must have seen the article on the WELS Latte Church.

Try not to laugh, Latte Lutheran failed with five (5) WELS staffers trying to pump life into this joke. The sect's magazine promoted the experiment.

At Latte Lutheran, this lady administered the Means of Grace, in her words, and now works for the DP who bullies church councils into rehiring unfit pastors.

This article concerning justification by faith (as the Apology says) is the chief article in the entire Christian doctrine, without which no poor conscience can have any firm consolation, or can truly know the riches of the grace of Christ, as Dr. Luther also has written: If this only article remains pure on the battlefield, the Christian Church also remains pure, and in goodly harmony and without any sects; but if it does not remain pure, it is not possible that any error or fanatical spirit can be resisted. One Expert on Justification They Never Quote - Melanchthon.OK. And the Holy Spirit and Augustine and Andreae and Luther and Leyser.

Pay No Attention to the Apology (Defense) of the Augsburg Confession!

The Gutenberg Audio posts of the Apology have some terrifying sub-titles, so alarming that no one (except me) ever quotes them. Once more, with feeling -

The confused Amen Corner of Concordia Seminary - Ft. Wayne says Melanchthon was an Arminian. No, not directly. They are too wily for that. But they do claim Justification by Faith is Arminian and by that they mean "Decision Theology." Therefore, their much-quoted quia subscription to the Book of Concord is agreement with Decision Theology.

Only an aging denizen of journals and dusty library aisles could straighten this out for everyone.

The Objective Justificationists really hate Philip Melanchthon, because they have been trained to loathe him and Justification by Faith. The doctrinal attack-Yorkies snarl and yip when Philip's name or his teaching come up in conversation. Sassy and I met the real thing on one walk, where I used an elm walking stick to ward off nasty dogs. The two little sock-puppets came out of their yard today, yipping and menacing us. I held my stick high above my head and said in my Gandalf voice, "Go back to Mordor where you belong!" They retreated, snarling, but came back for more. I raised my arms again and said, even louder, and gesturing, "Go back! Go back!" They cowered and ran back.

Melanchthon's work is an exposition of the Scriptures, as clear and plain as it can be. The Walther-Pieper faction of Missouri snuffed out interest in Melanchthon with the Bente Historical Introductions to the Book of Concord, but the Introductions still have a lot of good information about our current crop of crypto-Calvinists in the LCMS-ELS-WELS-ELCA.
