THE GREAT WALTHER - And the Other Follies of the Four Waltherian Cults

Walther "suddenly found out" about Stephan, whose mistress was well known. The pious clergy group even manufactured a shocking revelation about her, though   she shipped with the future bishop and his son.

We bade a fond adieu to the scattered minions of ELCA.

Now it is time to tell the truth about the syphilitic leader of the Germans who landed in St. Louis and began lying even faster than before. Martin Stephan was already a syphilis warrior in the Old Country. He abandoned his whole family, except the eldest son, and had his pastor pals - including Walther - sign a statement before the New Orleans landing, making him Bishop Stephan.

Stephan called Walther "a fox," though it was a better title than "RAT." CFW was the youngest of the clergy and always eager to be the boss and sheriff. Strange how Walther did not discern the adultery of his bishop until he formed a seething riot shipped down to Perryville, Missouri, leading the mass (secular sense) and stealing the gold, land, books, and clothing.

Stephan carried syphilis, a loathsome disease, but Walther carried two grandchildren of his father, and chased around Europe, and landed them in St. Louis. CFW was not only a felon and kidnapper. He involved his future mother-in-law with the crime and changed his ticket to leave the Fatherland 10 days later. She was in the hoosegow for his crime while Ferdy was playing hide-and-seek.

This an accurate grouping of Team Walther, including Gramps, CFW's older brother, the kidnapped children, and the future mother-in-law (in prison for a short time because of Ferdy's crime). CFW - what a leader!

This is the implied beauty of CFW, his birth, his speed in going places, and his monumental cover-up.

Call Me Pentecostal

The Pentecostal label may have dwindled or merged - hard to tell. When Christianity Today phoned me about Cho - the Korean felon, years ago, he asked me how I obtained a particular statement. I said to the editor, "I got that from your magazine!" Christina found the reference for me - at the Luther Seminary library.

Pentecostalism was hot in all the mainlines, which I noticed in Midland, Michigan, including the LCMS congregations to some extent. Those days were the birth pangs of "Church Growth, sometimes expressed as Church Growth." (I heard a WELS DP say that without projectile vomiting.)

I learned the reason for the LCMS being so infatuated with themselves. The lies about Stephan and CFW Walther were a Fort Knox of dishonesty. Even worse, the delusional clergy and laity distorted the Gospel horrendously to gild the statues and statutes of The Great Walther with constant praise.

Granted - the Lutheran Church in America was tepid at best and Marxist at the upper levels. Each glob of Lutherdom praised itself (ALC versus LCA versus LCMS, etc).

This turmoil got me to pursue the Biblical issues in relation to the Book of Concord, even when the LCMS Michigan District President asked me about serving one of his Pentecostal congregations. I quoted Luther - "They act as if they swallowed the Holy Ghost, feathers and all."

?!

Pentecostal
I suggest that people study the Holy Spirit in the KJV, Luther, and such authors as Melanchthon and Chemnitz. I am afraid that 99% of Lutherdom today is empty, whether radical in its gay atheism (not just ELCA) or sweating for a replacement for Church Growth - packaged, putrid, programs.

The Lutheran synods do not know where they are going because they have so many baubles to play with, so little content. As one stupefied WELS leader said, "Isn't it great that we had three pastors and three churches! Now we will have two pastors in one church with more attendance." Yay!!!! What????

"Wuz I smart or not?"

He is really onto something, but what it is, I can't tell.

Pick Your Universalism - #1 - The Cross - #2 - the Resurrection

This is the basic empty grave absolution of the world, not original with CFW Walther B.A., or even with Martin Stephan, STD, but widely taught in Pietism and in Calvinism.

Those who claim the entire world has been absolved of all guilt will always use the fallacy of emphasis. They find a nugget and fashion it into false doctrine, often with great glee and fierce looks at those who dare to disagree.

One key passage is frequently the source of Objective Justification nonsense. Readers will find that the 1 Timothy 3:16 passage is used to promote the Watherian absolution of the entire world...without faith. Later, the scheming Walther used predestination "to prove" that faith is a work of man.

KJV 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

This verse can be seen as a creed or short hymn, certainly poetic with six aorist participles. "Without controversy" can be translated literally as "confessionally." However, the Lutherans who use the word "confessional" every few minutes - and in their Facebook titles - are those who reject and ridicule Justification by Faith.

  1. Manifest in the flesh
  2. Justified in the Spirit
  3. Believed on in the world
  4. Received up in glory.
  5. Seen of angels
  6. Preached unto the Gentiles.
The second phrase - justified in the Spirit - is twisted into claiming that the Holy Spirit absolved the unbelieving world when Jesus rose from the dead. In fact, Jesus Christ is sinless in His divinity, not from a declaration or a change over time. His resurrection proved what was always true, He was both man and God, two natures, one person. To claim that Jesus - without sin - was declared without sin is another mental pretzel fashioned by the Objective Justification mob.

Walther - borrowing from Bishop Stephan STD - makes the resurrection of Christ the absolution of the entire world, a claim without any basis in the Scriptures, but popular in Pietism and Calvinism.

Jay Webber is fond of Rambach. One discussion was here. Webber argued in favor of Rambach but against Chemnitz, which the Intrepid Lutherans found abusive and amusive.

Luther's Epiphany sermon points out that the so-called intellectuals twist words around rather than teaching the plain Word of God. The content of 1 Timothy 3:16 is an expression of Christ's glory, not mankind's absolution without faith.

The Objective Justification beehive likes to merge 1 Timothy 3:16 with Romans 4. The 1932 Brief Statement facilitates that error. But let's start with the actual passage.

KJV Romans 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Missouri Synod B.S. - 1932

"Scripture teaches that God has already declared the whole world to be righteous in Christ, Rom. 5:19; 2 Cor. 5:18-21; Rom. 4:25..."

By citing Romans 4:25 and not the verses before 4:25, the LCMS and its copycats repeat the false doctrine of Walther, Stephan, and Rambach. The New NIV (but not the older one) is loved by the Synodicals because Romans 3 has everyone being justified.

New NIV

Romans 3:24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Knapp was a famous Pietist and Woods was a famous Calvinist.

Taught by the Jesuit Sparky Brenner, A Recent Mequon Grad Tries to Prop Up Objective Faithless Justification

Sparky began his doctorate at U. of Wisconsin, but switched to a Jesuit university to complete his PhD.  Going Jesuit is definitely a trend in the collapsing WELS-ELS-LCMS.

"Many, if not all, Wisconsin Synod pastors are aware of those internet blogs offering their “gracious and loving” critiques of the WELS doctrine of justification. Many, if not all, Wisconsin Synod pastors are aware of a few pastors who have left our fellowship in recent years due to the WELS teaching of universal and objective justification. These controversies have not escaped the notice of WELS pastors. However, not all pastors may be familiar with Samuel Huber and Aegidius Hunnius, two theologians who are often cited by American objective justification deniers to refute the doctrine of justification as taught in WELS, ELS, LC-MS, and by extension, the members of the former Synodical Conference. It is the goal of this thesis to examine the writings of Huber and Hunnius and to compare their teachings on justification to what was taught in the early days of the Synodical Conference. Finally, this thesis will demonstrate the faulty use of church history by those who deny universal and objective justification."

Cracked Pots Are a Good Visual for Yet Another Mequon Seminarian Essay

Someone (name withheld) sent me the link for the latest failing effort to prop up Objective Faithless Justification. I was justifiably hurt to discover that the lad did not make any effort to obtain and read my books which address the issue and provide vast amounts of information, especially on the efficacy of the Word and Justification by Faith. I have sent free copies of my books to Mequon and I gladly send free books to individuals who ask for them. This blog has freely produced information from many sources.

The Mequon aversion to actual study is bound to echo the repeat-after-me statements of the poorly trained professors. Brenner is one of eight Jesuit PhDs who teach theology among the "conservatives." I obtained his dissertation and bought his pots book. He backed the reality of Walther using the phony "grace controversy" to bring OJ in the back door when he had failed to force it on his members and professors through his bullying. The "grace debate" is where one finds the WELS-ELS-LCMS claiming that faith is a "work," a stupidity so dense that it clogs the brains of Midwestern Germans to this day.

The phrase Justification by Faith does not appear in the bloated abstract, but the lad loves the word "justification" by itself, demonstrating a staggering lack of knowledge in Greek and English. He is like the other dullards who defend OJ and Church Growth as if fighting angry bees, crying and trying to find relief from the pain.

My eyes are tired from laughing at all the face-plants encouraged and supported by Brenner, so I am adding a few graphics. A crooked foundation leads to a crumbling foundation and apostate clergy.

 Kilcrease is another Jesuit PhD.

The Preus kids and grandchildren do not understand Robert's book.

Walther's syphilitic bishop, Martin Stephan, taught him OJ (fresh from Halle)
and Walther never varied from its grip on him.

A few people attended the Emmaus conference, where the truth was not allowed.
Why do the OJ fanatics have to keep dressing up their tin idol, Walther, and heritage of Bishop Stephan?

Read this slowly, out loud, and ask whether Objective Faithless Justification has any relationship to the Reformation, Luther, and the Book of Concord.

Grampa Horace Said, "There will be so many Universalists in Hell...

Grampa Horace could never figure out those city slickers, who did not know their Bible.

Grampa Horace said,
"There will be so many Universalists in Hell, their butts will be hanging out the windows."

LutherQuest - And to think, some of them Walther Universalists actually graduated from college.

***
GJ - John Bunyan - Pilgrim's Progress - said, "Apart from the Bible, Luther's Galatians is my most read book."

The Rationalist-Pietist dogma that Bishop Martin Stephan, STD, taught to Walther has infected LCMS-ELCA-WELS-ELS-CLC (sic) and a few others ignorant of God's Word.

The OJists do not defend their own dogma, because it stinks like last week's garbage, but they love to mock the Chief Article of Christianity, Justifcation by Faith.

Some of the Crimes of The Great Walther Listed

This is how the LCMS portrays the Immaculate Walther's saintly arrival. He was born forgiven and saved, so his crimes against Christian doctrine and ordinary human behavior were already absolved.

Some of Walther's Crimes Listed
  1. He kidnapped his niece and nephew from his father's parsonage.
  2. He avoided the police and let his future mother-in-law take the rap while he hid.
  3. He and the Walther circle, extreme Pietists, knew Pastor Martin Stephan, STD, was a serial adulterer who preyed upon young women.
  4. He called himself a pastor even though he left his call.
  5. He concealed Stephan's syphilis from the group until it was revealed that young women in the group were infected by his seductions. Walther and his pals created a story that a sermon made one of the young women confess Stephan's adultery, even though the key leaders must of known this earlier, since Stephan went to spas for his syphilis symptoms.
  6. Stephan left his wife and children behind in Europe, taking his mistress (adjoining cabin) and his son on the same ship.
  7. Walther secretly took back the property title given to Bishop Stephan, prior to the riot he organized. Later, he talked Stephan's son out of the ownership. Two felonies.
  8. When Walther brought the rioters down from St. Louis, only those against Stephan were allowed to come. His brother did not. Check Walther's Pastoral Theology for missing insights.
  9. The Walther rioters threatened Stephan's life, kicked him out of his house, took his entire library, stole all of the bishop's money and possessions, and forced him across the Mississippi at gunpoint.
  10. Stephan tried to get his wealth, books, and land back in court but did not succeed. Walther used the stolen chalice for communion at his St. Louis church.
  11. Stephan's son went back to Germany, became an architect, and returned to St. Louis to became a pastor. Walther made a point of undermining Stephan's son in the ministry.
  12. Walther blamed Stephan's adultery on Mrs. Stephan.
  13. The LCMS continues to deny the crimes of The Great Walther and keeps the evidence hidden away.

Blasphemy Part Three -
Who Infused the LCMS-WELS-ELS with Objective (Faithless) Justification?
Answer - Pietists and Universalists

Bishop Martin Stephan, STD and Bishop Randy DeJaynes, LCA.
Parts 1, 2, and 3 here.

Even the most dense can agree that ELCA is the fool's gold standard of Lutherdom today. That  merger of mergers has gathered the LCMS-WELS-ELS under his/her/its wings and laid down the rules for enjoying Thrivent money and programs.

ELCA is the bellweather in declaring that everyone is born forgiven because of God's grace. That comes from two sources - the Pietists and the rationalists.

Rambach was the Halle University hymn writer (see The Lutheran Hymnal, #298) who wrote these words, treasured by Jay Webber, among others. Stephan studied at Halle and was a Pietist.

Walther was a Pietist and his friends followed one Pietist guru, then Stephan after their earlier leader moved away and died. Walther was thrilled with the letter Stephan wrote him and never drifted from that dogma. After losing their earlier guru, they followed Stephan all the way to America, after he was convicted of consorting with young women and misuse of church funds.

Later, Walther was thrilled with the double justification terms used by the Calvinist translator of Knapp, another Halle University theologian, one much admired in America and translated into English, a standard work for over 90 years.

The Reformed-Lutheran union movement enjoyed the peaceful physical and doctrinal merger of the two schools of thought. The Woods translation fostered the use of Objective Justification and Subjective Justification, with OJ dominating.

Rationalism, born at Halle and other places, gravitated toward God's grace acting without means (Word and Sacrament) and saving the entire world back to Adam and Eve.

The Objective (Faithless) Justification Imposters Love Ephesians 2:8-9,
Because They Do Not Understand

When I saw Norma A. Boeckler's graphic, I knew I had to make it the masthead and explain the verses to those who have heard it misused and abused so many times.

They have not read Romans 4?

This is how they announce their favorite verse, their favorite way -

OJ Spin Included in Bold Red
KJV Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved - period!, loud emphasis on by grace are ye saved. through faith (soft deceptive voice).  And that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (sounding like grace alone - no faith).
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast (because faith is a work of man).

The red-letter distortion has been drilled into the soft noggins of WELS, LCMS, and ELS seminarians, which may explain their schools' lack of students today.

Here is the answer, based on using the bright portions of Scripture - the most easily understood - to shed light on the passages more difficult for us. The divine Word is not difficult by itself, but our attitudes and misunderstandings make it worthwhile to look over all related passages and test for the consistency of God's Word we know is there.

The key passage is Romans, Chapter 4, especially because the false teachers use Romans 4:25 to declare that the Resurrection of Christ Jesus justified the entire world (usually back to Adam). But lo - the entire sentence, found just before Romans 4:25, makes sense without any mental strain (unlike all the flaky, ignorant OJ claims).

Romans 4:23 Now it was not written for his (Abraham's) sake alone, that it (righteousness) was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; (Justification by Faith)
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

This is a beautiful transition linking the chapter to Romans 4.

Some - who think they can win with verse 25 alone - are vanquished easily by Romans 4:16 -

KJV Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

This Romans 4:16 verse shows that faith and grace are together, not opposed. The OJ windjammers want to say they are filled with grace because they - the whole world - have grace without faith. They sail off, out of control, making up more and more passages which they misconstrue due to their lack of comprehension and their centuries old devotion to false doctrine.

The Apostle Paul clearly teaches that "without faith" can only mean "the Law." That is why the Olde Synodical Conference is grounded in the Law while burnishing their false concept of grace, grace, grace, but not faith.

Bishop Martin Stephan taught this OJ to CFW Walther, who said it saved his life! Stephan applied grace without faith to his own life, using the young women of his cult as his mistresses and giving them his syphilis. That is why he took his cult to America, because he was under house arrest for his ministry with young women and financial dealings. He left for America with his #1 mistress, and his son, and his cult followers. His own church members were glad to see him go.

Stephan left his sick wife and sick children in Germany. His mistress was cozy near him on the same ship, truly a touching and doctrinally enlightening beginning for the Missouri Synod.

The Objective (Faithless) Justification synods - LCMS, WELS, ELS, and ELCA - continue what Stephan and Walther started.

1984 - The Date That Should Haunt Us - Because It Keeps Repeating.
A Famine in the Land

When I was in high school, MHS - The Gold Medal Class of 1966 - everyone was talking about the novel 1984, by George Orwell. Everybody meant the 50+ students who were in the same classes, because we had levels from vocational training (auto mechanics, carpentry, metal) to future graduate students, about 750 in all.

A paperback bookstore was not far from Moline High, so we had access to the latest books. George Orwell's 1984 and his Animal Farm were very popular and often discussed. We did not have dumb-phones and computers to distract us, and many walked home, even in the snow.

Orwell established the dystopian theme which is commonly cited today. Utopia literally meant "nowhere" and suggests a perfect place to live - like Wisconsin - while dystopia is used today to designate a time where everything is going wrong.

I decided to read 1984 again, and two members are getting copies of the novel, too. I will be writing about it in the near future.

Three major themes in 1984 are:

  1. Newspeak
  2. Changing History
  3. Endless and Senseless War
Newspeak means constantly changing the meaning of words to the point where nobody would be able to make sense out of what is being said or written. The words do not necessarily mean what they imply but have a definite political meaning.

Newspeak
The literate among us should recognize Newspeak from two laws. One is Diversity-Equity-Inclusion. The other is Critical-Race-Theory. More than 10 years ago, UOP students were telling me that getting an entry level job at a computer company was almost impossible because of quotas. That is the point of DEI today, to create artificial barriers to install a political minority in all the leadership positions. Anyone can fill in the bottom jobs where needed, but the top management jobs must be reserved for a few.

Another charm of Newspeak is telling people what words they can use and forcing a new vocabulary aimed at pleasing and guiding the radical Left. The Bible Barons have been doing this with impunity since the 1950s, coughing up the Evil Four Plus One - RSV, ESV, NRSV, NIV plus the Beck Babel, aka the Beck Bible, aka Good News for Calvinist News. The majority of clergy will say that Isaiah 7:10 does not predict the Virgin Birth, that the words in Hebrew and Greek do not mean virgin, and that the Gospels borrow from mythological literature. (The modern commentaries do! but not the originals.)

I laughed at the WELS "objective genitive" in Greek because it made no sense. Grammar is a list of rules derived from literature. Paul did not agonize over a phrase being objective or subjective, but I learned it was sect-blasphemy to question this rigid and self-serving "translation." These Mequon professors cannot find Justification by Faith in Romans, Galatians or the entire Bible. They cannot be trusted with anything more complicated than Dick, Jane, and Sally. Spot was removed due to DEI violations.

Changing History
Changing History is constant today, because anything can be altered by replacing knowledge with alternatives. As Orwell wrote, the present can change the past, and the past can change the present. I was reading book once that praised the Federal Reserve Bank for being created to stop the cycles of prosperity and doom. I realized that was an unintentional humor book, because the cycles continued.

Pearl Harbor, 1941, was questioned by Congress in hearings, and many facts are now known, but most people still think that Pearl Harbor was a fluke, having all the carriers gone on that fateful day.

Did you know that the Wisconsin Sect was born orthodox? That came from its current Sect President, Mirthless Mark Schroeder. The present changes the past. Or didja know that WELS works tirelessly with ELCA? I proved it about joint worship, but they really gave it away with Snowbird, where the three synod presidents were photographed together, published in ELCA's magazine and reprinted in Calvinist News. An onslaught of insurance magazines (now working as one) proved how much and how often all three worked together. Result? that magazine no longer emphasizes the unionism of LCMS/ELCA/WELS, the only one being honest about it - ELCA. Too much self-satire in WELS and LCMS? - the facts are much worse. And the present definitely defines the past, and the history no longer matters.

Endless and Senseless War
Ukraine? Afghanistan? Panama? Viet Nam? So much can be said about these disasters - and more. I used to wonder why the oldest people were the most skeptical about our great and exciting wars.

 The Great (Liar) Walther

Matt the Fatt is showing us the way to 100% Lutheran Dystopia. The Missouri Sect was not begun by
  • a bishop's pimp,
  • a kidnapper,
  • a thief who stole land and talked the son of Bishop Stephan out of it,
  • who blamed Stephan's wife for the bishop's flagrant adultery and syphilis,
  • and started Concordia Seminary from the books and gold stolen from the bishop, even the bishop's personal chalice.
The Wisconsin Sect was not a unionistic, Pietist sect - and all those facts about the LCMS are "nothing but lies and slander" as the proletariats used to scream daily in responses to this blog.

Matt the Fatt's big moment is coming at the best possible time.

More later.

Matthias Loy Magazine - On Justification by Faith

John Sparky Brenner WELS professor at two seminaries, MLS and Mordor, admitted in his Jesuit dissertation at Marquette University that Walther's predestination rampage was promoted simply to back up his Objective Justification.

“It is only an effort to mislead the unwary when the cry is raised that grace is disparaged when stress is laid upon faith as indispensable to salvation. There is no such opposition between grace and faith as there is between grace and merit or works, because faith is the only means of appropriating the only merit which can avail for our justification.

From “Election and Justification” in The Columbus Theological Magazine, Vol 1, 1881, Matthias Loy, editor. LutheranLibrary.org

“That the doctrine of justification by faith is thus placed in jeopardy is plain to the view. According to God’s revealed order of salvation He cannot eternally save the soul that has not the righteousness of Christ, which is appropriated only by faith. But the Missouri doctrine of election claims that He selects those whom He designs to save, and infallibly decrees their salvation, without any foresight of faith. The divine declaration, “He that believeth shall be saved,” is translated into the proposition, He whom God pleases shall and must be saved.”

From “Election and Justification” in The Columbus Theological Magazine, Vol 1, 1881, Matthias Loy, editor. LutheranLibrary.org

Frosty Bivens, Fuller Seminary alumnus (or not, depending on the audience) claims that Objective Justification is the Chief Article of the Christian Faith. His pal Valleskey did not go to Fuller either (or he did, if talking to Fuller fans).

Zarling, WELS, wrote an unintentionally funny essay on Objective Justification as a "diamond." The essay was so bad that Bivens stole Zarling's main points on OJ being the Chief Article. Kids - plagiarize and you could teach at Mordor.

The Walther-Stephan faction put F. Pieper (Wisconsin Sect) in place to canonize CFW's
crypto-Calvinistic OJ. Why did Walther call Loy to be a Missouri professor? Perhaps to silence him.

Valleskey's lopsided smile is disturbingly like Mark Jeske's.
