Books Are Arriving This Week - Including Some Gems from Luther's Sermons

Some people are getting John's Gospel of Faith: From the Disciple Jesus Loved this week.  Amazon will send separate titles in different mailings, which arrive at varied times.

December was the beginning of radiation for Christina, which multiplied doctor visits, tests, changes in medications.

Upcoming Projects in Publishing

The Gospel of Faith: From the Disciple Jesus Loved, illustrated by Norma A. Boeckler - I am revising this after getting useful comments from many people.

Luther's House Postils, Volume 1 - This is completed and illustrated by Norma A Boeckler. I am finishing it with an editorial look-over by Virginia Roberts. Two more volumes will follow.

Calvin Ruined the Protestant Faith - This is being planned. The basics are outlined.

Ichabod Lutheran Dictionary - This has been started.

Working on the Gospel of John

I am enjoying the Gospel of John, adding clarifying comments to the text for an illustrated - by Norma A. Boeckler - edition of the Fourth Gospel.

I am on the 11th chapter this morning.

For that reason I am blogging less and putting up shorter posts. That will help Mordor, Willow Creek, and Fuller graduates.

In publishing news -

1. More sermons are being sent out this week as the last batch arrives at homes.
2. More Luther will be published.
3. One book will be a Lutheran dictionary.
4. Another will deal with the destructive effects of Calvinism.

Progress on the Gospel of John - The Gospel of Faith: From the Disciple Jesus Loved

I am working with some speed on the Gospel of John book, tentatively titled - The Gospel of Faith: From the Disciple Jesus Loved.

The stages are -

1. Basic introductions to each section of each chapter throughout the Gospel. Complete text - KJV.
2. Illustrations in color by Norma A. Boeckler.
3. Footnotes for some of the finer details, such as Greek terms.
4. Probably 100 to 130 pages, full-color. Author's price $10-11.

The Greek class last year featured the entire Gospel of John in Greek, which we translated and discussed each Thursday. The class suggested a book about the Fourth Gospel, so this is it.

This is not a commentary along the lines of Lenski. It is not the last word on the Fourth Gospel. But it may serve as a first word - for people who want to read through this simple but profound Gospel from the disciple closest to Jesus.

My friend, whose name I cannot divulge, suggested John as "the doctrinal Gospel" when I mentioned it as the Gospel of Faith or the Gospel of Love. For that reason there are notes about doctrinal issues and now they are addressed in the Gospel.
