Con Swervatives - The Game Plan

The Con

WELS makes a game out of lying, which makes Mark and Avoid Jeske the ideal prop for inter-Lutheran fellowship. The game begins with Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary's GA, their abusive initiation rite, perhaps called HB now, but the same malarkey. Tough guys play sympathetic guides. The opposite side plays tough. Due to their constant emphasis on brainless conformity, the Mordor personality is easy to spot. Mordor graduates delight in lying and winking at their friends. "Oh, we drink work so hard at Mequon, boozing studying constantly!" Wink. And it starts in college, the initiation and the studying. Some future pastors study so hard they can barely walk back to the dorm.

We ran out of men to serve communion.

First of all, the major players (ELCA-WELS-ELS-CLC sic) are con artists all. "No!" shrieks one of the conswervatives, "Liz Eaton was a radical from the start!" Not so fast - I carefully read her reaction, as a district bishop, to the 2009 convention vote. It was more like this - "Nothing has changed. Nobody has to change, and there will be no punishment of those who disagree with the vote for gay ordination and marriage. So just take a deep breath and relax." So condescending - and a gigantic con job. Liz became the ELCA Presiding Bishop and no prisoners were taken from that point on.

The 2009 vote decimated ELCA - or did it? Never neglect the money side of the con job. Every closed parish, every divided parish, every tiny breakaway - they had one thing in common - leaving the money and property behind for the radicals to enjoy and spend as they wish. I doubt whether any tears fell on Eaton's Excel spread-sheets.

Missouri and the Little Sect on the Prairie are just as persistent in the con-job as WELS. Missouri teaches a history about itself that never happened. The Little Sect pretends purer than WELS while obeying all orders from Milwaukee.

 It keeps changing, so Jeske keeps selling his solutions.

The Swerve to the Left

Each sect runs its own confidence game, but they have one thing is common - swerve to the Left!

Whatever ELCA is devouring, WELS-ELS-LCMS-CLC are tasting. Yes, they aim the stink-eye at ELCA in conversation. But they are always inching - if not trotting - in same direction. They all have their trotters in the trough of Thrivent, so they are snout-to-snout with the ELCA clergy who wrecked whatever was left of their merger after 22 years of rank apostasy (1987-2009).

The teeny synods have already adopted women's ordination in practice, enjoying small doses at Jeske carnivals and at their own official gatherings. Gay marriage may be over the top right now, but gay ordination has never been scorned. The players may be moved around a bit, but they know how to network. The opponents of these trends form a circle and start shooting, every change they get. Foxes and weather-vanes make it to the top, claiming, "I have to quiet now, but later I will fix everything if you make me synod president. But for now I must be allowed to infiltrate the inner circles."

 Almost 100 years ago, Charlotte Kirschbaum and Karl Barth invented the Church Dogmatics that later influenced Fuller Seminary away from any concept of inerrancy, let alone the Chief Article. Nobody knew Charlotte and Karl were adulterers! OK, we knew 45 years ago (at least) from the former president of the Barth society, Frank Fiorenza, now at Harvard. Communists both? - that book has been out for years, see below. But thanks be to God, there is no Church Growth in WELS, as Wayne Mueller solemnly declared. And Missouri only uses a carefully filtered, curated ideas, not one a danger to Holy Mother Synod.

GJ - Departing from the faith is the most important aspect of our current crisis. The most blatant falsehoods are sold for a profit by the church printing publishing houses (NIV, ESV, etc) and Barth-Kirschbaum's Church Dogmatics, conceived in sin and dedicated to Marxism.

Apostasy can only come from those who were formerly believers. They are far more destructive than outright atheists, because they burrow and corrupt from within, using the language of Christianity but changing its meaning. Thus Barth and Kirschbaum (Du bist zo schoene, mein schnutzi putzi) have the Bible containing the Word of God but not actually the Word of God.

Veering from God's will that men and women marry, the early Medieval Church extolled non-marriage as a requirement for pastors and for the separated women whose groom could only be Jesus. This rebellion against Creation made it easier to corrupt the Gospel and build power for the Bachelor-in-Chief. Now the WELS college makes sure they keep their government loan money by not opposing the rainbow coalition and gender switches.

GJ - Anyone who raises the slightest concern about the worsening crisis will be thanked by losing friends, getting the stink-eye, and being extended the Left Foot of Fellowship. The denominational Threat and Slander Machine will simultaneously cry, "They are ruining us" and "They are slandering us!" Church leaders are very religious - they say, "God have mercy on you, because we won't."

In Lutherdom, the incompetence and shallowness push everyone further into the darkness. Matt the Fatt could not get through a seminary PhD program, the easiest and least challenging. Mirthless Mark Schroeder is the victim of an inbred system where the graduates of his abuse seminary in Mordor become the professors of the next generation, preserving the cultic GA rites and alcoholic abuse and mattress room. Pope John the Malefactor has a very special education - not even a bachelor's degree when hired as a seminary New Testament professor. Only then did he finish a degree, because his students were more advanced than he was.

GJ - Our generation's denial is proof we are in this final stage, which can last a long time.

 The Jesuit pope gave an abortion activist an award. How different is he from the LCMS-WELS-ELS popes who work with the abortion promoting Thrivent and their warped sister ELCA?

Reasons Why the Denominations Will Race to the Bottom

If people grasp every outcome of the main principle - but not the foundational argument - are the results different or better?

That may seem mysterious, until the facts are added to the  question.

If people consent to treating the Bible as just another book, but never make that claim themselves - will that make a difference in how the Scriptures are treated?

The answer is "Yes, of course it will." If the results come from the main principle, "the Bible is just another book" has been conceded.

The most important figure in the destruction of Biblical teaching is a British academic named Fenton John Anthony Hort, the argumentative half of Wescott and Hort, who created another Greek text for the New Testament.

That was back in the 1880s. If we go back further, the same theme can be found among the Biblical scholars at Halle University, mother ship of Objective Justification. Rationalism finds a way to grow, whether in one place or another. Rationalist clergy send themselves - they are not sent by God.

Let's stick with Hort for this, because his destructive work on the New Testament text directly affects all English translations.

Hort's first rule - or principle - was to treat the Bible as just another book. The rest of his rules are tricks to set aside the traditional text of the Bible in favor of what he liked. The subordinate rules do not matter, because the results have already been determined, even if they take time to show up.

Translating the rules into Latin - so cool. If the rule is in Latin, it must be serious and credible. "The shorter version of a verse or passage is better, because we know that stories grow in length, the more they are told." Actually, there is no reason to believe that is true, and text scholars know that.

The difficult reading is preferred - that is even better. Difficult for whom? - the traditional Christian, of course. True scholars know the Bible is just another book, and eeevul traditionalists have neglected the truth of Jesus being just a man who died expressing his solidarity with the poor. If we sand down those rough spots, more of the original will shine forth.

If they have a manuscript that omits "the Son of God" from Mark 1:1, that must be the best reading. Why? It is shorter and more difficult for the traditional Christian. The English translation will probably have a footnote that says "some witnesses omit the Son of God." That varies with the translation and the year that edition came out. Bible sellers have learned to put the big changes in the overlooked footnotes.

Multiply that by the five to six thousand changes that have been made in the traditional text, most of them not singled out as Mark 1:1 or the ending of Mark are. Even then, who reads Biblical footnotes and how valuable are they in determining the original text?

Add to that list of changes - the simple fact that the Biblical language clergy are quite rare today. Those who study text criticism are even rarer.

Hort was standing where he could move the world of Christianity, and he applied maximum force to the lever. To this day, a few people gather to vote on the text of the New Testament, they vote changes up or down. That becomes the Greek New Testament, and that alone is the basis for the English translations.

The Old Testament is treated with much more care, because there is a tradition of the rabbis counting words and letters of each copied book, an ancient check-sum formula to make sure there were no omissions or additions.

Denominations Race to the Bottom

Biblical relativism led to similar creativity among the theologians. The Bible could mean anything, as a product of man's imagination, and so could the entire field of theology.

The so-called problem of modern theology is making sense out of Biblical images that are no longer believed by the academics and leading clergy.

Karl Barth - and his live-in mistress Charlotte Kirschbaum  - spent decades recasting the topics of theology into Marxist talking points. The work simply turns all religious categories upside-down, like his dysfunctional family.

The ever-loyal Charlotte would say to today's LCMS-WELS-ELS clergy - "So what? Your founder, Martin Stephan, had the same arrangement with his young woman and other girls as well. Your precious Walther and his buddies went along with it until - just wait for the book - Walther, the American Calvin: A Synod Built on Felonies."

So we have this perfect set of harmonies. The Calvinism of Stephan and Walther puts their followers comfortably in the camp of Calvinistic Fuller Seminary. The theological hero of Fuller is Karl Barth - and covertly his luffly mistress Charlotte. Their rationalistic treatment of Christianity is no different from Hort's - the Bible is just another book.

The LCMS-ELS-WELS seminaries follow Hort and reject the traditional text of the Bible. They send their doctrinally disadvantaged students and faculty to Fuller Seminary for additional training in methods and gimmicks. The president of Mordor, Valleskey, was a proud Fuller alumnus - like his buddy Frosty Bivens - and lied about it.

A denomination does not have to be 100% Fuller-Barth to be under their control. Each one reaches the tipping point where an ambitious teacher or pastor never questions the wisdom and insights of Karl Barth, Charlotte Kirschbaum, or C. Peter Wagner.

People do not use what they do not trust. They do not trust the Word of God, so they apply human wisdom to their tasks. The worse things are, the more they search out and buy human solutions derived from business and the charlatans who are always happy to help.

 Just because they speak at Church and Change Your Gender Conferences doesn't mean... Oh forget it.

And then Valleskey was angry with Koenig, and Koenig was angry with me for telling the truth. Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive! Notice the Mark Jeske half-smile, which suggests inner conflict.

 These guys are dy-no-mite! blowing up everything in sight.

For 14 years, Tony Morgan served on the senior leadership teams of Granger Community Church, NewSpring Church and West Ridge Church. GJ - I would be shocked to find him mentioning the efficacy of the Word. Or faith.

Readers may recall that Ski and Bishop Katie went to Granger, Indiana to discover the secrets lodged therein. One of the members of Granger, not exactly Lutheran, had been a member of St. Peter WELS in Freedom, Wisconsin. It is an easy transition when the home church has has already removed all evidence of Biblical, Lutheran doctrine.

Ski and Katie were all over the US, attending conferences, often with Tim (do you know who my uncle is?) Glende. The three amigos worshiped with Andy Stanley, the Babtist gay activist minister. WELS was well represented there.

Mark and Avoid Jeske seems to be the epicenter of Church Growth fads, women's ordination, and merger with ELCA.

We can expect great things from Unstuck - great embarrassments, great costs, great cases of amnesia after everything has blown up or collapsed.
