Research on Food and the KJV

There is a lot of interest in the nutrition articles, and I keep learning a lot more. I dropped 40 points from my systolic level and 12 pounds of weight, simply from following Joel Fuhrman's nutrition guides.

Today Ranger Bob and I picked up an assembled static bicycle from Lowe's and installed it near Sassy's bed, which she lets me use.

I will return to the gym and use the bike for daily exercise. That makes a big difference in making new habits becoming more beneficial - with general health, strength, and endurance. Eye surgery meant no gym, and my reading vision is a bit tiring. I will not get a reading glasses prescription for my remodeled eyes for another 19 days. So far everything has gone well and my long-distance vision is excellent.

Online classes have calmed down, so I can finish the second edition of The Bible Book. Fortunately I stumbled on the McAfee KJV book that makes an even better case for the KJV than the Harvard essay does. Harvard concluded that they could not discuss the literature of the Bible unless they used the KJV. I admire their way of proving that the ESV-NIV-RSV family is for dummies.

McAfee laid out the reasons in 1912, before Beevis and Butthead did Bible translating. The KJV permeates all of English literature after its creation. The details given are phenomenal.

One reader already asked for a copy of McAfee. I sent one for him and one for someone who would appreciate it. A lot of the work done to promote the efficacy of the Word comes from distributing worthwhile books on the subject. I got a used set of Lenski for $100 at Mordor. Our members created free GIFs of that work - for everyone. The ALC let the Lenski set go public domain but they do not want anyone printing it. 

The Bible Book

Two big changes with The Bible Book are:

1. Better information on the KJV and its value.
2. The truth - with evidence - about how fraudulent are Aleph and B - Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus. Note - the LCMS commentary on Mark uses Codex Vaticanus, proving LCMS is once again in the claws of Seminex. Matt the Fatt Harrison will be known in LCMS history as Matt the Unready.

I am not going to set a date on The Bible Book, but I think February should be enough to exhaust my perfectionistic tendencies in publishing. I am going to use the Amazon method of grouping books by using The Bible Book as the first in a series of Scriptural books. The next will be about Jesus' I AM sermons in the Gospel of John.

I thought a few people would like this book, which just arrived. I began reading it today and - WOW! - this is a well known classic, a brilliant discussion of the religious impact of the KJV, especially in literature.

Cleland Boyd McAfee was a Presbyterian, so WELS should devour this book. He wrote it for the 1912, 300th anniversary of the KJV. A century later, the job was given to idiots, braggarts, and court fools - because they wanted to sell their ESVs, RSVs, and NIVs - for some extra cash.

America's nostalgia movies and books are shockingly gross, as if we are little more than beasts foraging for some food, but less choosy in mates. God drops special children into our lives, and we get to see the miniature miracles of being different in many ways, such as being short-changed in one area and astonishing in another. There are two responses - one is to look away and pretend the non-compliant child does not exist. The other response is to enjoy the rare and beautiful nature of a child watched over by special angels, an extra battalion or so, and loved by a motley crew of fans. "I had 10 children and your child taught me the meaning of love."

 Erin Joy lacked the curls, the perfect teeth, and the radar eyes, but she lived her middle name and filled her world with laughter - hers and the audience.

Early reports of this engineering disaster claimed that the problem is not merely soft clay but also the effect of pumping raw sewage into the Bay in the old days, making a foundation resting on the bedrock necessary.

Whether ELCA - with its San Francisco ambience - or LCMS-ELDONA - with their sanctimonious attitudes, they are all sinking and tilting the same way.

The Lutherans could fix their problems easier than the MT project. They would have to give up their Calvinist-Modernist Bible paraphrases (ESV, RSV, NRSV, NIV, TEV) all of them departing from the well established KJV Majority Text which goes back to the apostolic era. 

 Concordia Publish House gave you Here I Stand socks plus the Gospel of Mark commentary based on Codex Vaticanus - written by Judas Voelz and sold for a king's ransom.

They would have to stop using Luther for "humorous trinkets" and reconsider him at the greatest Biblical exegete and preacher of all time, with a genius team that carried on his work - Melanchthon, Chemnitz, etc.

They would have to stop using their titles, robes, and wormtongue assistants for covering up scandals and rewarding adulterous alcoholics. 

In short, there is no plausible solution, because they rely on their own merits and despise the truths comprising the Reformation, intent on copying the Deformation of the Calvinists and Papists. 

 Lutherans - you have been defrauded.

Big Day - Very Little Posting

 These apostate leaders are KJV-Never while their membership is about 60% KJV. Do we discern a great blunder in mainline liberal marketing, just to get some fast bucks from the NIV and ESV salescritters?

I will have cataract surgery today, so I am going easy on the eyes. The second operation will be a week later.

Someone mentioned a book I had on the KJV and the specific essay I overlooked. I found it last night and it is exactly what The Bible Book second edition needed. I will quote it here, soon.

1.      Since manuscripts do not have a date, how can scholars like Tischendorf promote a very early date that enhances their careers?

2.      Why did Tischendorf, a German Lutheran, have an audience with the Pope, an arrangement with a Roman Catholic king, and a deal with a Russian Orthodox Tzar?

3.      How can anyone claim, as Tischendorf did, that monks devoted to ancient manuscripts were burning up pages from a 1500 year-old bound volume (codex) with leather pages that could not burn?

4.      How does anyone explain Sinaiticus having white, supple pages after resting unknown for 15 centuries? Two witnesses attest to the whiteness, and yet the codex later looked very much darkened, not so much by age but by special treatments.

5.      Since Tischendorf lied so many times about Codex Sinaiticus, what does that suggest about his earlier work with Codex Ephraim Rescriptus[1] – and his later work embracing Codex Vaticanus – “so much like Sinaiticus?” They disagree at a 40% level, not exactly a match, except for the sketchy origins.

6.      Why did the mysterious Codex Sinaiticus suddenly appear at St. Catherine’s Monastery, having no previous history, and was later stolen by Tischendorf – but never returned – so the Russians “could set Sinaiticus in print for the whole world.”

7.      How did Tischendorf happen upon a codex with no history and get away with his garbage to be burned excuse for spiriting pages away for the Catholic king?

8.      Biblical apostates in England and America were burning to have the earliest and best possible New Testament Greek text, but why did they accept the least trustworthy and most heretical Sinaiticus and Vaticanus?

9.      Indeed, why did the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod use Vaticanus as the main source for the Gospel of Mark commentary, 1000 pages long?

10.  Since Westcott and Hort were honored clergy and scholars in England, why were they allowed to secretly push their Greek New Testament on the KJV Revision Committee?

11.  Why did the Westcott-Hort Greek New Testament stay hidden until the horrible KJV Revision came out?

12.  The wild bragging of Tischendorf and the absurd theories of Westcott-Hort are an embarrassment to text scholars, so why are they still locked into loyalty to these Til Eulenspiegels but opposed to the clear, well-documented, apostolic sources of the Byzantine Majority Text?

13.  Which is more likely to be the true apostolic heritage? – 5,000 or more individual examples of the Byzantine Text from a Christian empire 1100 years old – or a handful of dubious and heretical exceptions with no history and no children proving they were never used for anything other than supporting papal supremacy over the Word of God.

14.  When will the New King James Version and any other KJV copycats stop referring to the Nestle-Aland-Nida texts as genuine alternatives? Do we join the apostates in saying a Virgin - or young woman - will bear a son?[2] Are we so frightened by these hucksters that we whisper the Biblical truths softly in Mequon/Mankato/St.Louis/FtWayne lest we be heard on the streets of Gath?

[1] Tischendorf claimed to have superb eyesight, enabling him to detect what others could not, since the pages were erased and overwritten.

[2] The RSV first used young woman instead of virgin in Isaiah 7:10. After the firestorm, they used virgin in the text and footnoted young woman. Now the RSV has young woman in the text and footnotes virgin. A con artist always rigs the game against the suckers.

            This list is very important, necessary for a better grasp of these issues concerning the Bible and its accurate translation. They are in order of importance, so the top ones are best to start. I buy used copies most of the time, from Alibris. Other used sources are Amazon used books, Biblio, and eBay. Watch and wait, because some very expensive books are offered for a fraction of the price later. I got a $300+ book for $25 later.

J. Harold Greenlee, Introduction to New Testament Textual Criticism, 1995. Traditionalists are wrong because they disagree with to bogus and fantastical Westcott-Hort theories! - circular reasoning.

Kurt and Barbara Aland, The Text of the New Testament, 1981. He continued the Westcott-Hort argumentation, via Nestle, his mentor. The Nestle-Aland United Bible Society edition has become the favorite of liberals, apostates, and Lutherans. The New KJV constantly references NU in footnotes – for this Nestle-Aland-UBS edition – and M for the Majority Text. Is this citing of NU any different from the RSV footnoting Isaiah 7:10 – “or virgin?” RSV Isaiah 7:10 now reads – “a young woman will conceive and bear a son.”

Good Text Criticism

Edward Freer Hills – The King James Version Defended, 1988. Hills was a top Latin student at Yale, studied for a doctorate at Chicago and was blocked by Metzger, then finished his doctorate at Harvard. He tutored Theodore Letis, who is best appreciated through his videos.

Wilbur N. Pickering, The Identity of the New Testament Text, 2014. A layman pointed out Pickering to me. As one person wrote, Pickering destroyed the entire modern argument against the modernist, eclectic (invented) Greek text.

James Bentley, Secrets of Mt. Sinai. The Story of the World’s Oldest Bible – Codex Sinaiticus, 1986. This is so hilariously worshipful that its thesis self-destructs. “Tischendorf was obsessed…” Yes.

PART TWO – The Greek New Testament Text Fraud

 

Brief Summary

            The second part is more like a hastily produced crime drama, not at all elegant or certain, because the narrative involves the attempted murder – of the Bible. The evidence abounds but the facts are disputed, the heroes defamed, and the criminals deified. A young man had a great future, but his parents died while he was in the university. He had to drop out. His name was Constantine Tischendorf. He was able to work his way back into the school by lecturing, but that only served to renew his ambition. As a young professor, he managed to lay claim on Ephraim Rescriptus, a manuscript of the Bible overwritten, after being erased, by the little-known Ephraim. Tischendorf claimed to have unusual eyesight which enabled him to produce the original. The future events developed slowly, but they were pivotal for the attempt on the Bible. Tischendorf had a papal audience, very unusual for a German Lutheran, and saw his ability to travel and make pronouncements increased. He seemed drawn to a particular location, a monastery called “St. Catherine’s on Mt. Sinai,” but really a Disney Mt. Sinai, with a long history and fake Biblical sights to see.

            The first evidence of Tischendorf’s criminal attempt is the fable of his discovery of Codex Sinaiticus (a bound book – codex – found there – Sinaiticus). He and his family told the same lie, time after time. He found sheets of parchment loose in a basket, ready to be burned, as many sheets had before, but he intervened to save them. The monks saved, repaired, and preserved ancient documents. The oldest and most obscure were valuable to the monks – and most importantly – to collectors. This was parchment – leather – and would stink in a fire and not heat anything. Constantine did not save but stole pages from the bound codex and presented the pages to a Roman Catholic ruler. He eventually stole the entire volume by promising to have it set in print in Russia, calling it Aleph, for the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet. He claimed it was over 15 centuries old and promoted it as the greatest find in Biblical history. This and his look at Codex Vaticanus made him the hero of 19^th century text criticism, a role which he carefully crafted himself.

            Scholars, clergy, and laity may debate the histories and origins of Sinaiticus (Aleph) and Vaticanus (B). One thing is clear – both books are barren and have no descendants. Such books would have been read and copied to death, producing new ones to be used by the faithful. Worn-out parchment (leather) copies would be burned and the deluxe, costly leather copies used to produce accurate papyrus (paper) copies.

            The apostolic witness of the New Testament was preserved by the Christian Church and manuscripts in the thousands prove that to be true. The term Received Text comes from a phrase by Erasmus when he first edited a Greek New Testament. The 1100 years-old Byzantine Roman Empire - Greek-speaking, Christian, almost forgotten by historians - preserved the Majority Text, which is also called the Byzantine Text and the Traditional or Ecclesiastical Text.[1]

            Tischendorf promoted his heroics, which appealed to those who wanted the oldest witnesses to be quite different from the traditional text. Westcott and Hort took over the job of promotion and created their own Greek New Testament in secret for use in the 19^th century revision of the KJV. They pushed it upon the groups of KJV revision scholars but did not publish their Greek text until the new Bible came out. Many were horrified by the liberties and unvarnished egos of Westcott and Hort, but this approach took over by the 1930s and now controls all new Bible translations. Their “modern, scientific, precise” translations are nothing more than cobbled-together, copy and paste jobs edited by the authority of the Bible book sellers.

Part One - Done - The Bible Book: The KJV Reborn for Those Who Love the Word of God

I divided The Bible Book into two parts. Part One concerns the KJV itself. Part Two involves the massive fraud of modern New Testament text claims.

Part Two has the most changes and improvements, because many books arrived while the book was being finished and afterwards as well, including today. I just read some crucial information about Vaticanus (the text for Missouri's Titanic-Mark Commentary). 

The Part Two information is easily discerned by laity, even by Ft. Wayne graduates. This will make the dabbler in Bible versions wonder how so much deceit was manufactured by cardboard clergy and scholars.

 "You dare quote the KJV!?" sayeth the KJV-Never crowd of cardboard scholars.

I expect to wrap up the second edition of The Bible Book: The KJV Reborn for Those Who Love the Word of God. Soon - God willing.

It is tempting to create the KJV Encyclopedia (no chance) because there so many sources for the topic.

The book is more of a self-study effort, because knowing the good and bad KJV authors is essential for appreciating the massive fraud called "modern translations." Fortunately the initial effort got me in touch with a variety of good authors.

I get blank looks about the I AM sermons of Jesus, so that is a good reason to make that the next book.

Future books will be Biblical books, one at a time, or themes about shorter ones (like the pastoral epistles). They will be included as a series linked to The Bible Book.

Not Every KJV Book Is a KJV Book

 

The new arrivals (books) came today - three of them. One is a Letis book from Baker Book House. Another is The King James Version at 400, a massive paperback. A promising name? Yes.

The book was published by the Journal of Biblical Literature, an egghead-funhouse for apostates, and the Nida Institute for Fractured Paraphrases.

I thought, "There may be loose nuggets of gold anyway." Wrong! My time with that book was not wasted, because the other side always gives something away when making its move. I learned that from Nimzowitsch's chess book. Every move threatens the opposition but also creates a weakness.

Every positive statement about the KJV included a smack in the face. Sure it was good, but not that good, and really "not up to our standards." 

In discussing the Church Growth fever of WELS-LCMS-ELCA-ELS-CLC (sic), I always found the direct quotations from Fuller and its bumblehead Lutheran followers to be the choicest. Oh, did that ever make the WELS bumbleheads howl with rage! One WELS pastor, more moved by the spirits than the Spirit, threw one of my CG essays in a fury and seemed to use a crude word. Thus affirmed and confirmed, I used it as the last chapter of Liberalism: Its Cause and Cure, published originally by WELS, a hot seller too.

One can see that the KJV-never crowd is spooked by the Majority Text and the English version of the Luther Bible, the Tyndale KJV.

Imagine how the synodical book sellers would fare if people knew they promoted books that were based on the frauds, forgeries, and lies of Tischendorf, Westcott, Hort, Nestle, Aland, and Nida. 

The thousands of manuscript finds prove that the Majority Text is apostolic, the modernist texts a leaning Towel of Babel. Like tourists staring at the Pisa Leaning Tower, we wonder why it - the Modernist Bible - has not yet fallen down.

The ESV is butchered - the RSV is butchered - the NRSV is butchered, but not all the same way. Their texts do not agree among themselves. The only thing they have in common is the National Council of Marxist Churches ownership. The NIV was owned by Rupert Murdoch and sold to another profiteer.

The KJV is still so treasured and the modernists fight for the scraps. The Lutheran sects stick with their bad choices and disagree about which paraphrase is the least bad. Missouri favors the NCC-ESV. WELS favors the Murdoch-stained NIV.

This is full of details and background information about how Codex Sinaiticus was "found" and promoted by Tischendorf. Everything points to forgery. After all, the forger admitted it in a long letter to a London newspaper.

The more we see what the modernists have removed from the New Testament, the more we realize what a scam they are running with the ESV, RSV, NRSV, NIV. 

Daniels is well informed about Eugene Nida's destructive work against the text and Nida's "dynamic equivalence" paraphrases (ESV, RSV, NRSV, NIV, etc etc).

Edward Freer Hills finished his PhD at Harvard after the University of Chicago blocked him.

This is the most readable book on the list. You do not need coffee to wake you up about the apostates trashing of the Majority Text and KJV.

Hello Pastor Jackson

I just watched your video "Two Approaches to the Biblical Text". The audio and sound quality was good. The video froze several times, this may be related to my connection speed. I reduced the quality from 1080p to 360p and this ended the freezes.

In the video you made the observation that Vaticanus and Sinaiticus are deemed by modernists as the only reliable source-texts for the Bible, yet there are many differences between the two codices.

I believe the many differences are part of their appeal to liberal Protestant and Roman Catholic scholars. Both Rome and liberals have an interest in propagating the idea that the Bible is fully of errors and inconsistencies, and hence there is a need for "experts" (the majesterium of the RC church and liberal text-critics among Protestants) to reveal to Christians what the Bible "really says". Compare this to the Majority Text, which has a consistent historical background. 

Attacks on the principle of the Biblical inerrancy have been part of RC church policy since the Council of Trent. What better way for the RC church to destroy Biblical inerrancy (and sola scriptura) than to concoct two very different Bibles, deem them the oldest and most reliable source-texts, and lure liberal Protestant scholars into accepting them.

Any document produced by the RC church should be suspect, given the RC church's 1500 year history of shamelessly forging source-texts.

Now and the Future -- The Bible Book and the Sequels

 The Bible Book series will include John's Gospel - the I AM Sermons, Acts, Letters of Paul, the Pastorals, and the Catholic Epistles.

The interest in supporting the King James Version led me into a second edition of The Bible Book: The KJV Reborn for Those Who Love the Word of God. I am glad that developed because I had to chance to build up a lot more books about the KJV's origin and qualities, and also about text criticism from both sides - Majority New Testament Text versus the Forgeries called Vaticanus and Sinaiticus. Proof of the fakery is easy to consider - they are 1500 years old and have no children. 

In contrast - this is rich - recent discoveries and some ignored facts point to the Majority Text going back to the Apostles. The claim has been, "The KJV Majority Text is late and therefore corrupt." By corrupt, they mean the verses, phrases, and words removed in the "scientific" editing promoted by Tischendorf, Westcott-Hot, and Nestle-Aland-UBS. 

The early church fathers were using the Majority Text and they kept copying new generations of New Testaments because they wore out the originals. 

In contrast, we are to believe that Vaticanus (held by the forgery-friendly Vatican) and Sinaiticus (another Catholic op) were 1500 years old and still usable, though nobody copied them. It is like saying that one man overwhelmingly won the electoral vote, so the contest was given to the guy who could not get more than a dozen to hear him live. Something is wrong there...too.

The differences between faith in Jesus Christ and disguised atheism are there. What passes for intellectual study of the Word is nothing more than a smokescreen to hide some frightened wizards who shout, "You have not studied obscure matters for decades, so you cannot judge our constantly changing Bible Juggernaut, which enables us to sell our ever-evolving Bibles, which funds our conferences and fellowships and awards and trips and honors and promotions.

Dean Burgon defended the Majority Text; he had first-hand experiences with manuscripts.

I want to touch upon Burgon's defense of the ending of Mark and the Woman Taken in Adultery (John 8).

Both are easily studied in English, as Dean Burgon has shown. Mark's ending was already in the Vulgate and continued until the magical Codices Aleph and B (Sinaiticus and Vaticanus) - both promoted by Tischendorf - were used to remove Mark 16:9-20 from the Gospels. Mark 16:1-20 was in all the manuscripts that survived, so the apostolic origin is clear. But sadly, for the modern critics, Aleph and B, for their 1500 years, had no children, no descendants, no proof Mark ended abruptly. 

This does not enter the typical believer's mind - but listen up. For the rationalists (modernists, apostates) the short ending eliminated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, especially since they imagined Mark was first and Matthew/Luke used Mark as their outline, with the never-proven Q providing the other material. 

The apostates consider John's Gospel to be very late (?), Gnostic (!), and mythical (!?), so that finished the Resurrection for good.

I am quite sure that Kurt Aland's precious Greek New Testament (now used at all seminaries and colleges, with a few exceptions) simply continued the ruse started by Tischendorf, which was greatly desired already by the rationalists. Aland depended on Westcott and Hort, while Westcott and Hort needed Tischendorf, who relished lies, fraud, and the Church of Rome.

Or - one might say, the Westcott-Hort-Nestle-Aland efforts satisfied the assumptions of the rationalists from Halle and other rationalistic hotspots.

The woman taken in adultery - John 8 - is also found in early witnesses. It is also not found in some. The reason may well be that some early copyists found the story at odds with the Sixth Commandment and at variance with Jesus' teaching. That is more of a touchy-feely criticism, not a factual one. 

As I have written before, falsification is best achieved by removing text, not by adding text. John 8 - without the woman caught in adultery - is abrupt.

Shaw developed great fame as a socialist playwright. He understood the King James Version as a great work of literature and the very voice of God. Too bad the ALPB Lutheran establishment is so tin-eared they love the NIV, the RSV, NRSV, the Message (!), and TEV. The NKJV came up once so far, and the KJV not at all.

GJ - The ALPB Online Forum and Ovaltine Drinking Club took on the topic of favorite Bible versions. They are self-confessed straw-brains with no concept of Bible texts and honest translations. As Melville said, the pulpit leads the way, and these people are lookouts on the Titanic!

They honored Luther's anniversary as little as the KJV's. But they think Vaticanus is a decent source for the Gospel of Mark (with the ending removed).

 The 500th! - no words.

As a child raised in an LCMS church and and school and confirmed by a pastor who later became a seminary professor, we were really put through the entire catechetical helps sequence in the CPH catechism. That meant memorizing through our confirmation class years around 700 passages, all with chapter and verse and all from KJV.

So it's my "heart" Bible version. And it still comes out of me decades later in various pastoral circumstances. It's hard for me to speak ill of it. The quote from George Bernard Shaw is also directly on point."
