Veterans Honor Already Sold Out at Jackson/Perkins.
The Snow Has Not Even Melted!

Enchanted Peace

 Veterans Honor

I did some comparisons this morning and found that Jackson Perkins (no relation) was already sold out of Veterans Honor.

Edmunds Roses still has Veterans Honor. I have liked working with Edmunds, which appears to be a smaller branch of JP.

A lot of roses come from Weeks, but they are whole-sale. I am not ready to buy 1000 bushes. They often provide the rainbow clearance roses at the end of the buying season. I am addicted to them because I end up with roses I would not have ordered and they are often ones I want in the future.

I ordered long ago, figuring that a cold winter without snow would be rough on the roses. We had extreme cold without snow, then snow, then more snow.

Think of roses as annuals and the rebirth of the survivors are a bonus. They even come back as wild roses.

The deep red roses behind the Easy Does It orange roses are all varieties that have gone wild, the wild rose roots surviving when the hybrid tea part died from the cold. That made a great photo, except for the lug who got in the way of the sunlight. Wild roses the rest of the summer meant stumbling over malicious thorny, bare branches after that first and only bloom.
