Imposing the Mafia Rule on Twissted Sister.
Bedfellows Cannot Be Criticized

WELS District President Don Patterson -
come to Holy Word for the drunken spiritual retreats,
stay for Church and Change fellowship with Mark Jeske.

twissted_sisster has left a new comment on your post "WELS Works with These Blokes - LGTB Retreat. Expos...":

"The ELCA 1991 Social Statement on the Death Penalty declared “we oppose the death penalty.”

But yet they sanction a path to eternal damnation. The fact that they label themselves Lutheran must have Martin spinning in his grave.

GJ - It is my melancholy duty to impose the most basic rule of the Mafia on the WELS-LCMS-ELS-CLC combine.

Bedfellows cannot be criticized, cannot be prosecuted.

The Mafia does favors for businessmen and politicians for one reason alone - to bind those people to their criminal enterprises for life. They always taint their legitimate friends with their crimes, so the two become one. Once serviced by the Mob, the putative honest citizen can no longer speak against the Mafia.

Twissted has violated this rule, which is honored in the breech among Lutherans. WELS, the Little Sect on the Prairie, and the haughty LCMS work with the ELCA. "Yea even," as Walther often said, the CLC (sic) has done the same.

I have enumerated those ELCA religious projects so many times that page-views could remain at an all-time high simply from people doing a bit of Ichabod research on the topic. Projects with ELCA include:

  • Lutheran World Relief.
  • Evangelism (Church Growth, which ain't evangelism, so maybe it doesn't count).
  • The Joy religious radio program.
  • The Membership Initiative.
  • Snowbird Leadership Conference.
  • Multi-Culturalism Project (hatched at Snowbird) - multi-cultural includes pan-sexual.
  • Higher education.

Justification by Faith
Looking the other way about ELCA's profound love for abortion, the so-called conservative Lutherans share the same exact (wrong) take on justification. They all agree, 99.999% of Lutherans, that God in His grace has forgiven the entire world, so the entire world has been saved. People just need to hear the joyous news that they are already forgiven and saved. That is The Gospel for American Lutherans today, even though their own documents and Confessions repudiate Universalism.

The entire Bible is a sermon about Jesus, as Luther said, and the Bible's only purpose is to teach Jesus, plant faith in Jesus, and sustain that faith. The power of the Holy Spirit in the Word is revealed in its power to bring God's grace to us through the Means of Grace.

That old apostate rationalist went to Halle University and taught there?
And ELCA-WELS-LCMS were spawned by Halle grads?
Tell me more.

Listen to a Liberal Theology Veteran
I read hundreds of theology books as a graduate student in theology at Notre Dame. Most of them were mainline Protestant theology books from the famous academics of the 19th and 20th centuries: Harnack, Schleiermacher, Barth, Tillich, and many more.

I also studied the Life of Jesus authors, the rationalists who wrote large volumes about what they did not believe, from Reimarus and Schleiermacher on to the Jesus Project of recent times.

Feel free to read all those books, attend the lectures, and write the papers. I can save you a lot of trouble.

The mainline liberal apostates agree about one essential dogma - Never, ever make faith contingent. Five words sum it up. When faith is contingent, there is no grace, they claim. Does that start to sound familiar? Just like UOJ calling faith a work?

But what about Paul or Jesus or the Holy Spirit?

KJV Romans 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. 23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Unbelievers do not want to hear "if we believe." It is like the noonday sun shining on a sunburn. It hurts  terribly.

That is why the SynCons work with ELCA - they are unbelievers united by the same dogma. Therefore, the SynCons are far worse than ELCA, where the apostasy is confessed in writing and taught openly.
