When I wrote about the roof fund, four days ago, the typhoon was passing over part of the Philippines. The Bethany Lutheran Mission is on the main island, but they were spared. The fund for a permanent roof reached $500 at that point.
Four days later, the total was already $1050. They need $2000 to purchase the materials and rent the equipment needed to fashion a steel roof. They might reach their goal sooner than Pastor Palangyos thought.
