Let us not forget that Jungkuntz and Gehrke were PhDs and professors at the dinky drab Northwestern College. No WELS leader questioned OJ - they loved it and promoted it.
We can skip over the last 50 years and just, "WELS, LCMS, ELS, and the micro-mini sects are one with ELCA. Some go for Calvinist Church Growth (without the growth), others are hotter than Georgia asphalt for Rome, incense, cool robes, angel poses, and other indications of an ill-spent youth."
