The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is a mainline Protestant Lutheran church headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The ELCA was officially formed on January 1, 1988, by the merging of three Lutheran church bodies. As of 2020, it has approximately 3.14 million baptized members in 8,894 congregations.[4]
In 2015, Pew Research estimated that 1.4 percent of the U.S. population self-identifies with the ELCA.[6]

GJ - I did a little looking around on the Web tonight, to post the Icha-peek around midnight. I was a little surprised that the Lower Peninsula still had a male bishop. Their website is called Mitten because the LP looks like a mitten. I can only imagine what Arkansas' cute ELCA name is.
The circuit pastors are seven in number, five of them women - not that I am counting.
