- Alan Lubeck Just looking at the photo points me right to the Gospel...not.
- Beverly Haas Stellmacher What is going on in our Synod?😢😢
- Ben Bakken If they are contributing to the service in the same way as a choir and praising their lord..... good
- Alan Lubeck A choir sings the Word of God, it doesn't go out on a dance floor...at least in Lutheran theology.

N O W - Fred Camacho Then the prophet Miriam, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dancing. And Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
Horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.” ‘ Exodus 15:20-21 - Pat Buzzard Far better suited to a WGI field than in the sanctuary...
- Lee Brunner I'm not sure what to think of this. First time seeing it.
- Karen Fairbanks Are they starting this nonsense in the ELCA? I'm not surprised.
- Beverly Haas Stellmacher Siloah is a WELS church in Milwaukee.
- Jason Zuehlke Milwaukee is fairly culturally diverse. If this is a church with a very diverse cultural background, would we force them to worship as people of European descent because it's "right"?
- Pat Buzzard One of the reasons I love WELS is we’ve typically stayed true to our traditions. We haven’t, “Sold out,” in the name of modernity. I’d like to think I’m not the only person in the world that appreciates and values tradition.
- Darci Martin-Matzke The picture leads to speculation. It would have been very helpful to have posted as to how this was being used in the worship setting.
- Donald Hochmuth I saw this going on on A L C when I attended Luther Seminary.
- Daniel Baker The problem with this is not the dancing itself. Many different cultures view dance as part of music. The question is whether or not this serves the purposes of the Divine Liturgy, which exceeds cultural considerations and is indeed cross-cultural, or …See More
- Simon Johnson There’s no where in the Bible that says this is wrong. If someone could show me and cite verses to me then I will look at those verses. The Israelites danced to praise God. A Martin Luther College Professor once said, “it’s important to not mistake tra…See More
- Nathan Charneski I'd rather have this than the horrid bell choirs...just saying
- Beth Phelps For those that contend that dancing did not take place in the temple:
During the feast of tabernacles, men danced in the tabernacle or temple at night when the temple was lit up with huge torches. - Debbie Lochmoeller Fiedler Kenneth Jordan, is there a meaning to the movements of the dance? I think that the people who may be offended believe that this is a bunch of people dancing haphazardly, as they are moved to emotions by the Holy Spirit. I'm thinking there is significance to each oh the movements, very much like the temple dancers of the Old Testament.

Prayer dancers are ok but praying with LCMS people is iffy - Brian Sandwith Entertainment style with roots in African heathenism.
- Lloyd Essmann Kenneth Jordan ,my former student, what instruction on this was done before it transpired
- Alan Lubeck Here are some excerpts from a Catholic mass in Africa. While I do see some reflection of African culture (i. e. the clapping) I don't see them breaking out the praise dancers. I do see the sign of the cross, chanting, the creeds, etc. I would expect …See MoreYOUTUBE.COMExcerpts of a Sunday Mass at St. Peter Claver school, Kampala, UgandaExcerpts of a Sunday Mass at St. Peter Claver school, Kampala, Uganda

- Alan Lubeck I just got a close up view of the bottem photo and it reminds me of a stage show...I am about to get sick to my stomach. ELCA here we come.
- Wendy Erickson Honestly, I think this is wonderful, knowing where Siloam is and the people they serve. Frankly, many of you are sounding very much like “old farts” completely resistant to any change because “we’ve never done it that way”. I totally agree with follo…See More
- Sheila Ramirez It is gorgeous but should not be done up by the alter. Maybe after church in a community room.
- Sheila Ramirez Is this an ELCA church in the photos?
- Chloe Atchley If I could dislike this forever I would.
- Alan Lubeck Actually kind of reminds me of something in the Star Wars movies, but I can't think of what it was.
- Elaine D. Strauer Howell I dont like dancing in the chancel! I dont think we need to sway our bodies to praise the Lord!
- Isaiah Duff Yikes.
- Debbie Lochmoeller Fiedler Our God is omnipresent, and as such, is present everywhere. He does not set Himself apart in a temple in the same way as He did in the Old Testament. That is because Jesus tore down the barrier between us and God and we are now welcome to seek His pres…See More
