Product Description
DOES WORKING AT THIS CHURCH INTERFERE WITH YOUR COMMUNION WITH CHRIST?
That question may have saved author Anne Jackson's life. She believes it could save yours, too.
As the daughter of a pastor, Anne saw firsthand the struggles leaders face and the toll it can take on their families. She vowed her life in ministry would be different.
Yet, years later, as a church leader, she was hospitalized because stress began wreaking havoc on her body. She had burned out.
Anne developed a website that allowed church leaders to share their struggles. Within a few days, she was flooded with over a thousand responses from people pouring out their stories of pain.
Mad Church Disease, born out of that experience, is a lively, informative, and potentially life-saving resource for anyone in ministry - vocational or volunteer - who would like to understand, prevent, or treat the epidemic of burnout in church culture.

About Us
History
The Genesis of Catalyst
Catalyst was conceived as a Next Generation Leaders Conference in 1999 by Andy Stanley, Reggie Joiner, John Maxwell, Lanny Donoho and several young leaders. Catalyst was created to meet the felt need that existed within the church leader space for a leadership event that was focused on a new generation of church leaders. Everything within this space seemed built around a forty to sixty year old mindset and medium. This team was convinced that this needed to change.
Catalyst was able to meet that demand by creating a conference specifically focused on leaders under the age of 40. In October of 2000 in Atlanta, GA, partnering with North Point Community [Babtist] Church, Catalyst convened 1500 church leaders for this inaugural experience. With a unique approach to programming and learning, defined by a fun, dynamic attendee experience, leaders were personally challenged to become "change agents" within their organizations, churches and communities.
Since inception, over 90,000 leaders have made the annual trek to Atlanta to participate in the Catalyst Conference experience, and this October, once again over 10,000 young leaders will gather to experience Catalyst up close. More recently, Catalyst launched the first ever West Coast experience in Orange County, CA with 3,000 leaders in attendance.
Leadership has been the topic of focus for the Catalyst brand since inception and will continue to be so. Catalyst and the annual Conferences provide a wide cover for addressing a variety of topics specific to Next Generation Leaders, including organizational leadership, personal leadership, integrity, character, relationships, and teamwork, among others. Over the last nine years, Catalyst has grown in influence and reach, now offering two annual events on the East and West coast, regional One Day events, multiple resources, a dedicated online magazine, online community, the Filter content program, a bi-weekly podcast, and many other tools for young leaders. Catalyst has only just begun to go deeper with the Catalyst Community in taking them beyond a conference experience and into a relationship that provides ongoing support for growth and continued learning.

How interesting! The new wave church leaders will repackage, market, and sell just about anything to challenged churches – just as long as the promoters make out from it.
Organizational changed management, sometimes call transition management, was a big thing in industry during the 90s. It became another “flavor of the month” for businesses struggling to improve business processes. The American auto industry toyed with it for a time. You see how much it helped them.
Companies doing the training certainly made a lot of money from businesses seeking to improve quality and the bottom line.
Mad Church Disease. I think that pretty much sums it up.
It is wrong that The CORE (WELS) promotes a book from a woman church ministry leader who suffered from the affects of disregarding Christ's command (1 Timothy 2:12). It's a disgrace and an offense to those men in the Pastoral Ministry who are truly faithful to Christ and suffer as Epaphroditus did (Philippians 2:25-30).
The fact that the WELS does nothing about this and other grievous offences to Christ is a clear sign that they despise the Word. DP Jon Buchholz once told me that I needed to go slow when contending against Pastor Mark Schewe (previously with St. Mark, Green Bay) who was having the women of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Des Moines, WA. read the Liturgy during the divine service. The response by Pastor Schewe and the elders was, "After prayerful consideration and study of the Word in this matter we believe that antiphonal worship is a proclamation or reading of God's inspired word and is not considered to be 'teaching' the congregation." Pastor Buchholz response was to tell my wife that I was a Pharisee and as such would go to hell and she with me if she allowed herself to be influenced by my decisions. So much for going slow. The false teachers like Pastor Buchholz who drip honey from their lips in the words and doctrines of men are truly wolves who will do nothing to seriously address the false doctrine and practice in the WELS and ELS. They desire offices, promotions and the praises of men. Well, enjoy what you've created and wallow in the excrement of false teachers and doctrines of men.
In Christ,
Brett Meyer

Brett -
Pastor Schewe was NOT at St Mark, Green Bay. He was at St Paul's, Green Bay.
I agree with the rest of your note.

If you guys have it so right, then why don't you start your own real church? Be a part of a solution instead of hanging around the internet bitching at every opportunity everyday.
Nice video. I think they are all members of Bethany Lutheran Worship in AZ.
Anon 9:37 a.m.
Don't need to start a real church. Already a member of one.
And what you're doing here is not bitching?
Anonymous 7:45am - thank you. I appreciate your correction.
In Christ,
Brett Meyer
