Billy Graham's Grandson and Chad Bird - Singing the UOJ Hymn Together

And then he confessed a second affair - Christianity Today.
Note his website name - Tullian.net - it is all about Tullian.
Consider the children? Narcissists do not.
Another professional sinner is Chad Bird, ex-LCMS professor, whose website is Chad Bird! Same message. He helped Tullian with the article linked below at Tullian.net

https://www.tullian.net/articles/grace-for-the-disgraced-showing-forgiving-mercy-to-former-ministers

Quoting T.T.
But, and here is the uncomfortable kicker: the Gospel is for both parties. The good news of God’s unconditional love and outrageous mercy has always and forever been for sufferers, regardless of whether the suffering is self-induced or caused by someone else. If the good news of God’s forgiving and restorative grace isn’t for everyone, then it isn’t for anyone.

What we are talking about is how a community that is built on the reality of grace and forgiveness can be a place of grace and forgiveness for even the most disgraced Christian.

***

GJ - There is some kind of name for this group of cheap grace salesmen. They have an organization, too. I posted about one of them from this area, another example of all kinds of dysfunctional behavior in the name of grace.

Tullian has no concept of the Means of Grace, so reading this is like consuming Dream Whip, a bad copy of the real thing, but no substance.

All the excuses from WELS synodical leaders follow the same line of reasoning. After the Michigan District VP was caught in adultery, the DP lied about it and got the VP a plush job, assuring his pal of his forgiveness.

Lack of contrition in WELS is common, perhaps mandatory. The leaders gush that the men are already forgiven.

There is no better way to get hate mail than to say WELS teacher Al Just murdered his wife, as the court found, including his appeal. When he was found helping to lead a WELS youth group, the apologist said, "He has done his time." And the lies continue. That is UOJ in its purest form.

WELS had no trouble with Pastor W. Tabor serving a new parish when he was involved in the murder of his wife in the parsonage in Milwaukee. So many lies followed that crime.

It seems each Synod President in WELS has to make his mark in covering up crime and minimizing it. Mirthless Mark Schroeder assured everyone of Joel Hochmuth absolution. Later, Hochmuth said he did not comprehend contriton until he was in the prison program for child porn trafficking. Years in WELS hardened his heart. Somehow Hochmuth got a high-priced criminal lawyer and a light sentence. He offended multiple ways while on work release. That was a good example of UOJ at work. So he went back to the hoosegow for a traditional five-year sentence.

Roman Catholic - LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC (sic) on a larger scale
There is a big hullaballoo about the Pennsylvania Roman Catholic priestly abuse of children. However, it is nothing new, and I doubt whether anything will come from it. Roman Catholic protection of the clergy is no different from the LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC (sic). When a church body teaches itself as the Gospel, as all these do, then they necessarily protect "the sons of Holy Mother Church."

LCMS DPs are told to destroy all notes, which is called obstruction of justice in other quarters. In Missouri, it means "saving the Russian mission."

The only priest disciplined in the enormous Boston RC scandals was the one who said it was a real problem there. The rest were protected, and Bishop Law was promoted to the Vatican.

Time and again, in all such groups, destructive clergy are protected and promoted, but those who question Holy Mother are ousted, defamed, and shunned.

Who was shunned and slandered in Appleton? The victim. Who led this crusade to protect Glende and Ski? The synod president and three District Presidents: Kudu Don, Zank, and Englebrecht.

The lessons taught have been learned well.

Billy Graham's Lying Grandson Forced into a New Confession of Adultery.
Let's See If I Have This Right - Price and Tchividjian Overlap, Christ Hold Fast and Higher Things Overlap. HT Is LCMS and UOJ. Price and Tchividjian Love Tattoos.

Tullian Tchividjian is Billy Graham's lying Prodigal Grandson.
Willow Creek Church in Winter Springs, Florida, confirmed Thursday that they have fired Tullian Tchvidjian, 43, grandson of evangelical icon Billy Graham, after he revealed a previously unconfessed affair he had with another woman.
"When we heard the disclosures he made just a few days ago, the session acted within hours to end his employment at the church," Willow Creek's Senior Pastor Kevin Labby told The Christian Post in an interview Thursday morning.
"The disclosures that he made involved the fact that he had a previously unconfessed inappropriate relationship with another woman. He didn't share specifics with us. He said the person, that's worth saying … there were no specifics," Labby continued. "The session did not feel that specifics were necessary for our purposes right now in making a decision about whether to keep him on staff. So they've terminated his position but they have not distanced themselves from caring for Tullian and calling him to repentance."
Tchividjian landed a job at Willow Creek Church last September, some two months after he resigned from Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Florida due to an extramarital affair. During that period he filed for divorce from his now ex-wife, Kim, and was deposed of pastoral credentials by the South Florida Presbytery.
In a statement to The Washington Post last June, Tchividjian said he began his previously confessed affair after he discovered Kim was cheating on him.
"As many of you know, I returned from a trip a few months back and discovered that my wife was having an affair. Heartbroken and devastated, I informed our church leadership and requested a sabbatical to focus exclusively on my marriage and family. As her affair continued, we separated. Sadly and embarrassingly, I subsequently sought comfort in a friend and developed an inappropriate relationship myself," he wrote.

Tullian Tchividjian (r) and his estranged wife Kim Tchividjian (l) are getting a divorce.
His recent confession, according to Labby, contradicts that narrative. The Willow Creek senior pastor indicates that Tchividjian's newly confessed affair occurred prior to discovering Kim's infidelity.
When asked what prompted Tchividjian's confession, Labby said new rumors, which he is not at liberty to discuss, had come to light. Church elders, he said, were also blindsided by the breach of trust that they had placed in Tchividjian.
"I don't have details on them but it must be pretty strong rumors to prompt a disclosure like that," Labby said.
"The feeling of the elders was that Tullian had a long period of time to share that with the church and for one reason or another he elected not to. I can't really comment on what motivated him to not come out with that, but one thing that led him to come out with the confession was the knowledge that there were rumors swirling in Florida where he was previously ministering," Labby continued.
"The session felt that all that we were trying and attempting to do for Tullian had to be predicated on trust. And we understand confession comes over time, people build relationships, they gradually feel more comfortable. But the session was concerned that this was not shared with them and created a kind of faulty understanding in the situation and therefore compromised how we could minister to him," he added. "He is no longer an employee but our desire to care for him continues. How he avails himself to that is just really his choice but we would love to continue to walk with him."

Tullian Tchividjian fired from Florida church over ‘previously undisclosed failures’

(RNS) Tullian Tchividjian, who resigned as the pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church last year after admitting to an affair, has been fired from his new position at Willow Creek Presbyterian Church in Winter Springs, Fla.

Tchividjian, grandson of evangelist Billy Graham, came forward to church elders Monday with “some previously undisclosed failures in his life,” said Willow Creek Pastor Kevin Labby. Labby later confirmed those “failures” were “an inappropriate relationship” and declined to comment on specifics.
More than half the board of Tchividjian’s ministry, the LIBERATE Network, also resigned this week after they were made aware of the relationship.
“What we were trying to do was all predicated on trust, and the elders felt as though that trust had been compromised,” Labby said Thursday (March 17).
Tchividjian resigned as senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., last year after an affair. He since has filed for divorce from his wife.
He joined Willow Creek in September and originally had been given the title of director of ministry development at Willow Creek, which Labby said was “poorly chosen” and a “mistake” on his part. Really, the pastor said, it was a sabbatical “set up to care for him and his family so he could pursue healing and counseling and rest.” Tchividjian had no ministerial role and worked completely behind the scenes at the church, Labby said.
The 43-year-old pastor had attended Willow Creek while in seminary, Labby said. Wednesday was Tchividjian’s last day at the church.
“He’d been going to counseling,” Labby said. “He’d been doing everything we asked of him. It’s really unfortunate.
“The way he responded to the elders’ decision was so good. He showed such contrition and humility. He didn’t push back. I really think it was something that probably sat there for a long time. It’s just hard to bring everything out.”
Those elders also asked the pastor to step down from the board of LIBERATE, which Tchividijan created in 2011, because “they didn’t want to blur the line there,” Labby said. Five board members have resigned, too, including two other board members who are part of Willow Creek, he said.
LIBERATE recently announced it was relaunching as what Labby called a “message”-based ministry, rather than a “messenger”-based ministry, focused around Tchividjian. It is a resource ministry whose mission is “to connect God’s inexhaustible grace to an exhausted world” through multimedia, according to its website.

Blowhards of the Great Apostasy - They Surface to Point Their Claws at Hooves at Other Heretics

Gerhard Forde, ELCA, is much admired by ELCA and apostate Protestants
of all stripes and sects. The LCMS is quite enthralled with his leavings.

Every so often an individual will post something worthwhile on SpenerQuest, a group website devoted to praising Walther and one another. The gravitational pull is so great that Rolf Preus left the LCMS, got removed from the Little Sect on the Prairie, organized the Rolf Synod, saw the Rolf Synod depart from him, and rejoined the LCMS. No one has posted about how many synods he has been affiliated with, but perhaps they lost count, as I did.

Robert C. Baker did some presaging in his June 24, 2015, post on the LQ thread, "Reformation500 speaker admits a legacy," which was about the news that Billy Graham's grandson, Tullian Tchividjian, had resigned in June as senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, following an admission of adultery after he alleged he found out his wife was having an affair.

In his post, Baker stated:

quote:
"Behold, the fruits of the false teaching of Gerhard Forde, the subjectivist, experiential, Law-Gospel reductionist, existentialist ELCA faux-Lutheran, so beloved by some LCMS university and seminary faculty.

"Reading Tchividjian is like unto reading Forde: paraphrases abound."

Today Robert Baker saw exactly what I perceived in the Tullian Tchividjian scandal - the heir of D. James Kennedy and grandson of Billy Graham having an affair, divorcing his wife, and quoting the liberal Lutherans along the way.

Gerhard Forde contributed to this set, a best seller in ELCA, its standard seminary
textbook at one point, though ELCA hastened to deny this fact.
This epic collection of buffoonery rejects the Trinity, the Atonement,
the divinity of Christ, and everything else.

The foil is Gerhard Forde, the ELCA apostate that the Left raves almost as much as WELS clergy carry on about Valleskey - for the same reason. Forde contributed to the heinous Christian Dogmatics, edited by Braaten and Jenson, a double-volume set that mocks every article of the Apostles Creed. That made Forde an ELCA "confessional Lutheran" and hero of sorts. I found a blog praising him, authored by a Fuller DMin - another co-inky-dink, as you will see.

In another corner of the LCMS, some are discussing soft Antinomianism. I am not sure if this is the Dairy Queen version of Antinomianism or just another attempt to be cute. But - on that thread, listing various things Lutherans wrongly reject, I added - "Some Lutherans reject justification by faith." My comment was erased.

The greatest accolade is silence and shunning. They will not argue. Tis much easier to ignore, erase, and shun. But that only makes it more obvious that the target has been hit. Robert Preus repudiated UOJ. Response? Silence, even with the quotations provided and cited.

Bedfellows of Antinomianism
The heart of Antinomianism is making the Law obsolete. UOJ is the source for this in Lutherdom, and this UOJ is taught with great fervor in ELCA, LCMS, WELS, ELS, the CLC (sic), and the shards and shreds of the Olde Synodical Conference.

Their key verse is from Galatians - the Law is a tutor that leads us to Christ. Then we no longer need the Law, and the Law is obsolete - so they imagine.

These UOJ apostates proclaim the entire world forgiven and saved, apart from faith, the Word, the Means of Grace. They also claim Luther as their champion, when nothing Luther wrote supports this cowardly form of Universalism.

The effect on any concept of right and wrong is clear. If everyone is forgiven and one only needs to know this, all sins are already forgiven in advance. Thus the chatter about Law and Gospel, the Confessions, and justification are really a sad, sick form of self-justification.

Although Baker is completely right about Forde influencing Tchividjian for the worse, he is saying this on a website devoted to the same dogma as Forde and Tchividjian.

WELS ELCA Antinomianism
When I began to read about Tchividjian and his unrepentant responses to his adultery, I noticed the same UOJ style responses that permeate WELS.

"As long as we know we are sinners, we know that we were already forgiven and saved 2000 years ago." That self-justification can long a long way in excusing any behavior, including the adultery of a District President for decades (with everyone knowing about it).

WELS Got Way Ahead of the Liberal Evangelicals -
Billy Graham's Unrepentant Grandson Filing for Divorce and in a New Call

The LCMS kicked Floyd Luther Stolzenberg out of his call - for cause.
WELS soon made him a highly paid Church Growth Consultant
and allowed him to play the role of a pastor in Columbus,
then endorsed him for a new call.
Jay Webber, Paul Kuske, DP Robert Mueller, Kovo, Wally Oelhafen,
and the Michigan District pastors went along with this farce.

Shameful: Tchividjian is on staff at a PCA church in Central FL. This has been verified by multiple sources.
***

GJ - Does anyone wonder why WELS is shrinking faster than Clinton/Bush prospects for the presidency?

Our boy Tullian blamed his adultery on his wife's adultery, a fine example of clergy deception and lack of repentance.

The WELS clergy in Columbus told everyone that Floyd Luther had a "Scriptural divorce," which was a bald-faced lie. Jack Preus said that was not true. Herman Otten said it was not true, and another well known LCMS leader said it was not true. Floyd's associate at Salem in Blackjack, Missouri said the congregation would have blown apart if all the husbands and fathers knew the truth.

Of course, Marvin Schwan also had a "Scriptural divorce," which I asked to have explained to me. I said, "Is that like Scriptural murder?"

Adultery seems to be the default mode of the WELS clergy, from many reports. The leaders only object when it gets out into the open and makes them look as stupid, corrupt, and degenerate as they actually are.

The congregations know how bad it is, at least in their little territories. For some, it is a delight to have the clergy and teachers as loose as they are - in the name of sinning more that grace may abound. For others, it is the final reason for leaving.

Marvin Schwan divorced his wife to marry the
wife of one of his executives.
His cruelty led to his first wife's suicide.
No wonder the WELS leaders were pawing the ground
for the New NIV.

Thou Shalt Not Commit an Inappropriate Relationship.
UOJ at Work in the Neo-Evangelicals

Tullian shows off the Billy Graham DNA in this photo.
Tullian said that his wife had an affair, and in response, he sought comfort in a friend and their relationship turned "inappropriate."
"
Last week I was approached by our church leaders and they asked me about my own affair. I admitted to it and it was decided that the best course of action would be for me to resign."

Billy Graham's grandson, who became senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, after the death of D. James Kennedy, admitted to an "inappropriate relationship" and resigned from the church. He had been on a Sabbatical and now has his name removed from the church website.

Tullian was one bad dude growing up a Graham, tossed out of his house at age 16 and stealing from his friends and employers.

He settled down, went to college and seminary and started one of those Neo-Evangelical congregations - New City, which merged with Coral Ridge after Tullian was given a call to the much larger congregation.

Tullian and Grandpa Graham.
The next generation after the classical Evangelical preachers is certainly evolving - or degenerating.

Schuller, Graham, and Kennedy used a worship service with classic Christian hymns and a sermon.

Robert Schuller liked the strangest combination of guest celebrities and went all-DP on anyone who questioned his generic non-confessional theology. Schuller claims he started the Church Growth Movement, since was practicing what McGavran taught nearby in Pasadena.

Graham modeled his crusades after the one where he was converted, a bit of entertainment with celebrity guests, but hymns, prayers, preaching - and a call to the mourners' bench up front for making a decision for Christ.

We heard Graham and D. James Kennedy live in South Bend, not to mention a collection on the B list, so I was always interested in Kennedy after that.

With the Neo-Evangelicals, clergy robes and pipe organs are out. The Ten Commandments are being discarded with increasing speed. The trend is acceptance of gay marriage among the Neos - all trained at Fuller, Willow Creek, and Trinity Divinity. One after another is having new thoughts, new sensitivities on the topic.

The Neo-ministries are also blowing up, one after another, as predicted here. Potty mouth Driscoll, who trained Ski, Glende, and Bishop Katy, is one of many.

Church Growth began spreading like kudzu vines (also deemed beneficial) after Fuller Seminary formally and angrily rejected the inerrancy of the Scriptures. Nevertheless, the "conservative" Lutheran leaders of the LCMS, WELS, and ELS have found Fuller training to be an essential item in their resumes, adopting the agenda and trotting away on their cloven hooves to do battle against the Means of Grace.

Expect more of the same in the future, except the Lutherans use their papal structure to hide the criminal and immoral acts of their friends while driving out anyone who questions their infallibility.

Tullian and his wife Kim have three children.
Happy Father's Day, Tullian, you messed them up for life.

Here are three other mega-church pastors in Florida who resigned because of adultery.

This is the family history of Billy Graham's children.

Billy Graham Grandson Resigns Over His Adulterous Affair.
He Could Be a WELS Mission Counselor or Planned Giving Counselor -
Or Church Growth Consultant in Columbus

Billy Graham’s grandson Tullian Tchividjian has resigned from his pulpit at Coral Ridge Presbyterian, a high-profile church in south Florida, after admitting he had an affair. He released the following statement to The Washington Post on behalf of him and his wife:

I resigned from my position at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church today due to ongoing marital issues. As many of you know, I returned from a trip a few months back and discovered that my wife was having an affair. Heartbroken and devastated, I informed our church leadership and requested a sabbatical to focus exclusively on my marriage and family. As her affair continued, we separated. Sadly and embarrassingly, I subsequently sought comfort in a friend and developed an inappropriate relationship myself. Last week I was approached by our church leaders and they asked me about my own affair. I admitted to it and it was decided that the best course of action would be for me to resign. Both my wife and I are heartbroken over our actions and we ask you to pray for us and our family that God would give us the grace we need to weather this heart wrenching storm. We are amazingly grateful for the team of men and women who are committed to walking this difficult path with us. Please pray for the healing of deep wounds and we kindly ask that you respect our privacy.
Tchividjian’s bio has been removed from the church’s Web site, and repeated calls to Coral Ridge pastors and a spokesman were not returned Sunday evening. Tchividjian, 42, has been married to his wife, Kim, since 1994 and they have three children.
In 2009, Tchividjian (pronounced cha-vi-jin) succeeded the late James Kennedy as senior pastor of Coral Ridge. Kennedy was one of the architects of the Religious Right, a movement of evangelicals who became intertwined in more conservative politics. However, Tchividjian decided to preach less about politics, unlike his uncle Franklin Graham, founder of Samaritan’s Purse. Billy Graham, 96, was one of the most influential religious leaders of the 20th century and an adviser to many U.S. presidents.
Before he became senior pastor of the Fort Lauderdale congregation, Tchividjian’s church plant, New City, merged with the larger Coral Ridge. Seven months in, a group of church members, headed by Kennedy’s daughter, circulated a petition calling for his removal. Church members voted 69 percent to 31 percent to keep him, but a group of congregants formed a new church in response.
Tchividjian was described by the Miami Herald as a pastor who would focus on specific Bible passages rather than on the news, preferred more contemporary music over the organ, and chose podcasting over broadcasting.
The Hartford Institute for Religion Institute’s database of megachurches lists Coral Ridge as having 1,900 attendees. The church began in 1978 under Kennedy, and its weekly services were televised as the Coral Ridge Hour, reportedly reaching up to 3 million people. Kennedy was a founding board member of Jerry Falwell Jr.’s Moral Majority and developed the popular curriculum “Evangelism Explosion.”
Last year, Tchividjian broke up with the Gospel Coalition network of Reformed leaders over a theological dispute. His popular blog was hosted at TGC and he wrote several books with evangelical publishers Crossway and David C. Cook. Many have considered him a rising star in evangelicalism.
In 2013, three Florida megachurch pastors resigned after having affairs, including the son of megachurch pastor Joel Hunter.
Another high-profile Reformed pastor resigned from his pulpit last year, creating questions over the status of pastors with large national brands, often larger than their own churches. Mark Driscoll stepped down from his Seattle megachurch in October 2014 after being accused of plagiarism, bullying and an unhealthy ego.
Driscoll has more recently been trying to return to some kind of speaking tour at Christian conferences, but earlier this month, Hillsong, one of the most influential international megachurches, cut him from the speaker list at its upcoming conferences in the United Kingdom and in Australia.
