I have not heard anything recently from Yale Divinity School, after graduating in 1973. I get more response from medical doctors when I mention my work at Yale University Medical Library. That is when I mention "iatrogenic" - disorders caused by doctors.

So...YDS made several attempts to contact me and others, to learn from them, listen to them, drive down to Little Rock for a special meeting of divinity alumni.

The person signed his email with "pronouns, he, him, his."

I answered by writing "Me, Myself, and I are not interested. Do not write again."

So they wrote again, without those helpful pronouns.

The sainted Dr. Bruce Wenger (MD, PhD) loved to skewer the fads of the moment, but he still graduated head of his class. Radical Leftwing apostasy was already forcing their impossible nonsense upon everyone.

America has a promise, embedded in the Constitution, to keep the wisdom and structure of its beginning. I am delighted that the last 50 years are being examined for wisdom rather than being destroyed to make way for the dictatorial destroyers of our babies, our mothers and daughters, our men who guard and protect.

Stan Hauerwas and I were at Augustana College at the same time and at Notre Dame at the same time. I skipped Duke University, where he made his abode after ND.

Evangelicals For Harris was founded to subvert the Evangelical voting bloc and has a lot of money backing it. Christianity Today recently published an article “Voting Is Important to Me. That’s Why, This Year, I Won’t Vote” in an apparent attempt at suppressing the Evangelical bloc.

I’m sympathetic. All my life, I’ve attended evangelical churches and called them home. I grew up with a message of “God, country, and family.” And I’ve always been conservative in both my theology and my politics. In most elections, I vote straight-ticket Republican, and voting is extremely important to me.

It’s precisely because voting is so important that I believe we need to thoughtfully evaluate calls to vote biblically and consider everything that can mean. Sometimes, given short-term political dynamics or the candidates available, declining to vote can be the best way to reflect our values and acknowledge the importance of an election. Sometimes, the right choice—and one way to conform our politics to Scripture—may be not voting, as new research suggests millions of American Christians are planning this fall.

The author is Robert Postic, an academic who dubiously claims to be a theologically orthodox Evangelical. Despite claiming to be conservative, Postic had no problem voting for overtly leftwing nominees, but Trump Derangement Syndrome set in.

A Little Love for the Lutherans?

I like Lutherans.

In one of my first blog posts (about one year ago now), I wrote about my time speaking with their leadership at Concordia University. I talked about what I learned from one of their bishops and how they rebuked me.

I am excited about speaking to the Missouri Synod Lutherans North American Mission Executives in St. Louis in April 2009.

Also, I will be with another tribe of Lutherans in 2009. In this case, I will be with some Wisconsin Synod leaders at a meeting hosted in Milwaukee by a group called WELS Church and Change in November 2009.

(I am sure that someone will tell me the differences along the way, and it may include a famous episode of the T.V. show Cheers, where Woody and his fiancé discover they are from different Lutheran denomination.)

And, they (the Missouri Synod) have a plan for planting 2000 churches by 2017, the anniversary of something in Europe.

So, I received the email below and answered with some ideas from Planting Missional Churches. However, I think it would be helpful to hear from you on some of the job descriptions you would want for a core team. I will probably use them for an article as well, so be sure to put your name a church if you have any insights.

My name is Dick Evers, and I am part of The 72-Partners on the Road (formerly Harvesters for Christ) a ministry of LCMS World Mission.

It is our understanding that you have considerable expertise in church planting.
The 72 teams provide training to existing congregations to begin, enhance or revitalize their outreach activities. You can check out our website: www.lcms.org/The72. There are about 70 of us, located in various areas of the country.

Our ministry was recently asked by the LCMS to get involved with our congregations who want to sponsor a church plant. We are trying to establish a training program for The 72 teams who will work with the congregation and the church planters. As you will note from the attached "Areas of Training" information which discusses what we do, we believe we can be of real help to the church planting teams and the church planter.

We understand that the congregation is to provide a "core" group (40 members or more) and a launch team to work with the church planter. However, we are not exactly sure of the responsibilities of the core group and the launch team. We want to gear our training to help both groups be better prepared, as well as the church planter. We will be only acting in a "helping equip" role, not doing any supervising.

Can you give me any direction as to how we might find the basic "job descriptions" of the "core" group and the launch team? By knowing more about what the core group and launch team are supposed to do (or what additional help they could be to the church plant with more training), we can modify our existing modules, or create new ones, to help equip them.

Any information or direction you can provide us on how to find the "job descriptions" or any other comments you have that might be helpful to us would be greatly appreciated.

GJ - Church and Change fans have been trying to deny their 2009 conference is planned, even though it was discussed by the WELS COP and posted as a date on Stetzer's calendar. Thanks to my extensive research, we now have a date when the conference invite was firmed up - August 4, 2008.

Remember that when Church and Change denies the obvious again.

Of course, Missouri is lapping this up, too. As Luther said, when the Means of Grace are ignored, all kinds of foul errors rush in to take their place.

At the Dinner Table - My Parents Said - "We Are Going the Way of Rome!"

Once they start...

 Step One - 1950s

My parents were raised on the farm and went to country schools, where my mother first began teaching - at a one-room schoolhouse. They talked about Rome because they were trained in the history of the Roman Empire and took Latin as students, without any emotional or psychological damage. The four of us children were expected to take two years of Latin, because "You won't get into a decent college without Latin."

Step Two - 1960s

Once the siblings began college, only one of us took more Latin, added Greek, and became engaged - a graduation wedding. Relatives wondered why I had avoided learning a vocation (accounting, law, etc) during those 3+ years. Christina and I headed for Ontario, where I paid $150 a year for tuition. My friend from Salem Lutheran Church in Moline said, "Greg, this newspaper article says you won't have a church to serve in a few more years." He laughed long and hard and went, as many of my friends did, from Barry Goldwater fan club to socialism and worse. I loathed Goldwater for being a phony and it was later revealed that he was directly connected with the Mafia in Phoenix - and pro-abortion.

Step Three - the 1970s

I was sitting in the District President's office in 1972, the MDiv completed and a discussion about getting a pastoral call interrupted. Christina was on the line, insisting that I talk. The DP was reluctant to interrupt, but she said, "Put him on the phone." She said to me, "You are accepted at Yale Divinity for the STM." The DP became quite animated and shook my hand. I only went back to Ontario to visit, eh?

Step Four - Onward and Downwards - the 1980s

1. YDS was just starting the radical changes. Only one faculty member was a woman, and she was a Lesbian. What began as a way of opening the door to every Left-wing cause turned into an avalanche exit in every possible way. We have arrived at the basics of the Roman Empire:
2. Paganism celebrated in the worst and most obnoxious way. No details needed.
3. Men who want to be women, and women who demand their male. Ha!
4. Children used throughout America and the world - trafficking.
5. Unborn left to die - a Roman said a letter to his wife - "If it is a boy, keep him. If a girl, expose her (in the wilds)." Deissmann, Light from the Ancient East. Co-inky-dink - DEI.
6. Escapism in the form of alcoholism and drugs.
7. Charlatan "physicians."
8. Corrupt leaders from the top down, the President little more than one of the drunk and abusive lower rulers.

The Presbyterian Church USA is racing to become the gayest denomination in the United States. At its general assembly last month, they decided to advance the gay agenda by promoting one of its holy days on their liturgical calendar: Transgender Day of Visibility.

In other business under consideration, RSG-04, a joint recommendation from the Advocacy Committee for Women and Gender Justice and the LGBTQIA+ Equity Advocacy Committee (ACQ+E) recommends that the assembly direct the Presbyterian Mission Agency (or any successor agency) to recognize March 31 as Transgender Day of Visibility in all future printings and distributions of the Presbyterian Planning Calendar.

The recommendation passed by a vote of 38-7.

Someone already emailed me to ask for "A Mighty Fortress" in tomorrow's service - and to sing it more often. 

Luther was so much the target of the Church of Rome that he was disappeared and kept in a castle by Frederick the Wise. Luther was there almost a year and translated the Greek New Testament into German, somehow leaving out "making disciples."

The crumbling of our Constitutional Republic was preceded by the same kind of rotten politics of the denominations. Here are examples of denominations in their pursuit of gay apostasy, roughly in order of decay.

The ecclesiastical leadership of most Americans has goose-stepped into a complete rejection of marriage and the family, God's Creation, and the Constitution of the United States of America. They remind me of Ken, my neighbor who always pushed the limit. He grabbed the vine on the hill going down to the crick, but slipped off and fell onto a pointed tree stump. His guardian angel helped a lot, but he ran home screaming. 

The party is over in America - the thrill of a tiny minority in each denomination having an overwhelming claim to leadership. That is now dragging down each church body, because traditional believers have nowhere to go except to leave. WELS and Missouri imagined they would grab a portion of the ELCA exodus in 1987  - when the LCA, ALC, and Seminexers formed their hellish union to lift up their dogma and rub it in the face of those who once supported them by faith and funds.

The denominational meltdown is established, counted, and racing downhill with nothing to stop them. They are the engine screaming for President Trump's elimination, from the fake election and fraudulent impeachment to the string of anti-Constitutional lawsuits, now called lawfare. 

I did not start giving to the GOP when the Republican Party was as timid and duplicitous as VP Pence. Now I am going to be regular in supporting Trump. I am also going to be sending letters to various politicians. All of us who care about our Constitutional Republic are obliged to honor the graves of those who risked their lives for the future.

 This wealthy little church was thrilled to borrow this "creed" from a like-minded female pastor.

The Big Five - ELCA-WELS-LCMS-ELS-CLC (sic) - Stopped Being Lutheran Now They Are Far Left Unitarian

 

The Big Five - ELCA-WELS-LCMS-ELS-CLC (sic) are so far gone that they are closer to the Unitarian sect than they are to the Reformation. In fact, they can barely say the word Reformation or show any knowledge of Luther, Melanchthon, and Chemnitz.

Before writing angry, anonymous emails to me, consider the facts. The alphabet soup of synods has grown away from the Scriptures, even the Majority or Apostolic Text. Their loathing of Luther is the direct result of loathing fraudulent men and texts, which gave them freedom to disparage the Biblical texts, especially their favorite phonies - Vaticanus and Sinaiticus. 

Notice the similarities of corruption. Bogus Bad American Bibles like to end Matthew with "making disciples." Surprise! So does the modern German Bible. 

But lo, the KJV has the correct translation of the Greek - "teach all nations." Luther's original Bible translates the ending "teach all nations."

KJV Matthew 28:19 - 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Luther Bibel 1545 28:19 Darum gehet hin und lehret alle Völker und taufet sie im Namen des Vaters und des Sohnes und des heiligen Geistes, 

Koine 1550 Stephanus -  19 πορευθεντες ουν μαθητευσατε παντα τα εθνη βαπτιζοντες αυτους εις το ονομα του πατρος και του υιου και του αγιου πνευματος

NIV Matthew 28:19 - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 

The clergy today know little Latin and less Greek, but they should be able to look up various translations of the New Testament. Parading "make disciples" has been a fetish of WELS and the CLC (sic), with adherents of Fuller Seminary exploding with rage against teach all nations.

Many more examples from their precious NIV, RSV, ESV, and NRSV Bibles reveal that the Big Five cannot handle the precision and sonority of the KJV, which was intended to be read from the pulpit and was accepted as the best English translation.

These clashes, since they do not agree with the best text and translation, open up many errors and excuses for apostasy, without even including the Living (ha!) and Amplified (Ja!) gassy paraphrases.

Look at how ridiculous "making disciples" is. How do they make them? Do they bake them, shake them, and forsake them? A train cannot move safely on slightly crooked tracks, but Church Growthers imagine they can power up a congregation by "making disciples who make disciples who make disciples" - a quote from one of the worst WELS professors. 

Rationalism is always a delight for false teachers, because they commit themselves to attacking all Biblical doctrine, centering on the divinity of Jesus Christ and faith in Him. That is exactly the plan for the Bogus Bad Bibles (including the Christian News Beck Bible - or Milchkuh). Hint - Beck followed the apostates with the imaginary ending of Mark, which energizes the false teachers with "no empty tomb, no resurrection." Yes, I have the Beck Bible. I have the Westcott-Hort blasphemous Greek New Testament. W-H even omitted "the Son of God" in Mark 1:1.

The late Northwestern College (WELS) faculty loathed the NIV and often said so in class. They had no courage beyond the classroom walls, and that tiny school was merged. 

The underlying, Biblical doctrine in all this is the Efficacy of the Word in the Means of Grace, opposed and missing in the Big Five - ELCA-WELS-LCMS-ELS-CLC (sic). 

Calvinists loathe the efficacy of the Word because of the Zwingli-Calvin influence, plus a big dose of secular philosophy. The Baptists and especially the Baptists are going mainline rapidly. So where do the Lutherans of all stripes go? Yes, to the last excuse for Calvinism - Fuller Seminary, so weak that they watered down inerrancy from the start. The later rumble was only a case of rejecting inerrancy loud and proud.

 The Holy Spirit will convict the world "Of sin, because they believe not on Me;"

No Sermons - No Faith - No Visitation - No Members

 

The number of people in church on Sunday has reached critical mass - downward. We do not have a set of statistics at Bethany Lutheran Church, but principle cause is easy to discover. That is the neglect of the sermon and teaching the Gospel. The LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC Walther Combine is not much different from the rapid ELCA catastrophic losses. 

I have one example from a known blog. He set up a server for WELS pastors to swap sermons. Plagiarizing others is considered a necessity for lazy, faithless pastors. He said that his server was busy all night on Saturday. Some groups of pastors do their own copying, so "three out of four borrow from the fourth - a sermonizer who does the work". More examples come from the WELS Love Shack, where the staff copy each other's work. One pastor visited the Love Shack for committee meetings and found two staffers copying the same devotion, word for word.

The Big Four Walther Combine runs on the principle that everyone is already saved - Objective Faithless Justification. When this is questioned, they howl with rage and cite imaginary passages, teaching such nuggets as "everyone in Hell is a guilt-free saint." 

This is so bad, it is laughable, but Kelm was the key spokesperson for Fuller Seminary.

The Bible is a very good book for heretics (Luther) so these bobble-heads necessarily fill their empty brains with slogans. The one thing needful is ridiculed - a faithful Bible, the King James Version. The Walther Combine plucks a few words out of their constantly changing propaganda. They exchange a firm foundation for quicksand, saving time and energy (they think). The result is hollowed out piety, their altered Book sliding into the mire of secular Marxism and gender-bending.

Pastoral visitation is as rare as an honest synod president. 

A lifeline is used to rescue people from drowning. The Walther Combine chose to toss anchors at their drowning victims. Their first gem was the NIV.

 

Seminaries for Training Pastors Are Teaching Their Own Translation Ignorance And Doctrinal Apostasy

 

Knapp and Rambach were two of the Pietists who promoted universal forgiveness the moment Jesus rose from the tomb, based on their false interpretation of 1 Timothy 3:16. CFW Walther, taught by Pastor Martin Stephan STD, repeated this Halle University poison and gradually worked it into the Missouri Synod. Stephan's first letter to young Walther tied the junior Pietist fanatic to the senior, a syphilis patient. Walther used this knowledge about the cell group leader when they got to America stealing Stephan's church, land, gold, books, and person items.

I started with Pietism because the Pietist organizations in Europe encouraged and established the same institutions in America. Superstar Spener was just about perfect in their eyes. Anyone can see from the results of Fuller Seminary that cell groups are the "real church" and the only way "to grow a church." These errors repudiate the efficacy of the Word, the Means of Grace, and Justification by Faith. 

Lately the fanatics have been piling up grace so they chant five of them. But the only way to grace is faith in Jesus Christ, as Paul taught so clearly - 

Romans 5:5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

All Christian groups should teach this, which is why the Luther-Melanchthon-Chemnitz Reformation taught Justification by Faith as the Chief Article of Christianity, not just of Lutherans or Pietists or  Catholics or Methodists or Catholic/Eastern Orthodox.  But now we have almost no Lutherans teaching this article, including two stumble-bums in WELS who declared their notion that universal forgiveness happened the world - the moment Christ left the tomb, as if there was a tripwire. 

And these two yahoos are not alone. It is the sacred creed of WELS, ELCA, LCMS, ELS, CLC and other Lutherans (when pinned down, after asking the right questions to uncover their lies). These Enthusists also promote the Atonement of Christ on the cross as universal absolution, when it suits them, saying, "We were all saved when Jesus died on the cross."

Moreover, the large unLutheran denominations are lost and bewildered in their efforts to teach social activism of all kinds - and genders - as the actual Gospel.

Worthless Seminary Professors - Ignorant Seminary Graduates

The seminaries are collapsing, which is good. Students cannot learn very much because their professors - often marginal at best - do not teach them the Biblical languages and faith in Jesus Christ. Lacking both, they party a lot, follow key professors around, and hide what they really learn from their congregations . 

The seminary graduates for more than 75 years have been taught against the Scriptures and they do not even study the originals. Their NIV-ESV-RSV-etc Bibles have so many erasures and clobbered words that the students hardly know what is actually in the manuscripts. Very little is taught as Scripture so they can ruminate on the extreme Left being the One Truth of their lives. Add some counseling courses, yes, good, and some practical classes, which are ideal for broken down alcoholic professors to teach. The students graduate as know-it-alls, forever thinking their lazy professors were really great.

 

We Are Turning into Rome - As My Parents Often Said at Supper

My parents said, "We are going the way of Rome!" more than once at the supper table. We were prepared. Our public schools taught up to four years of Latin, and we were warned, "You won't get into a good college if you skip Latin." We had no idea about how bad the Roman Empire was, but at least we had the advantages of grammar, spelling, science, math, and languages. 

But everyone wondered, "Why major in Greek at Augustana? There are no jobs waiting for teaching Greek." The college was already treating Latin and Greek as cast-offs, not as valuable intellectual tools for a lifetime - and many specialties: law, medicine, science, literature, math, art, drama, and comedy. Those trained in the classic disciplines produced students who avoided the bewilderment of big and yet obvious words. A seminary professor had a pneumoencephalograph. His colleague tried to figure out its meaning, so I said, "Air in the brain, graphed."

Whenever I heard a doctor talking about various complicated and expensive procedures, I would drop into the conversation with "iatrogenic." That simply means a disorder caused by the physician, polite but a bit of a threat. I blocked a number of proposed, dangerous prescriptions. 

America is no longer a Constitutional Republic and there are few reasons to imagine it can come back. As if by magic a few years ago, many universities began Diversity, Inclusion, Equity. Augustana College hired a new president whose great strength was DIE. (They avoid the implications if they write DEI.) The University of Phoenix suddenly made the teaching of this toxin mandatory. 

There must be managers at the top to have utilities and universities bow their knees before their DIE. That is where the decisions are made and forced upon everyone else. 

And yet, what really changed the world? God's own Son was born of a Virgin and proclaimed by a host of angels. When Jesus began His ministry, He was following another leader who prepared the way of the Lord. His three-year ministry yielded many followers but arrest, beatings, and the cross. 

All tyrants relish the idea of crushing those who get in their way. But once the disciples saw the risen Christ, learning from Him and the Holy Spirit, they were imbued with the singular power of spreading the Gospel across the land. The Gospel wrecked the Western Roman Empire (centered in Rome, as one might assume) and converted a tiny town Byzantium into the New Rome, which was Christian. The Eastern Rome continued until 1453 AD, when the Turks captured the isolated city.

As bad as that was, the Fall of Constantinople released the Greek scholars into Europe, where the Renaissance blossomed, literacy grew, and Luther translated the Greek New Testament into German.

The situation then was very much like our new little Vatican wannabees. If we look at ELCA-LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC-ELDONA, their boasting claims are contrary to what they actually teach. Their alleged Luther quips seem to come from Chinese cookies, nothing more.

All of them reject and ridicule the King James Version of the Bible, mostly by removing words, phrases, and sections that emphasize faith in Jesus and the divinity of Jesus. Look over the list of ELCA-LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC-ELDONA managers. They are poorly educated clowns who glory in making things worse.

As Dr. Lito Cruz opined, "No moderns support the inerrancy of the Scriptures, because they all have different errors in the Biblical editions they adore." The modern editions contradict one another and make money off the latest because it is "by far the most accurate, most precise, most readable Bible ever! 20% off the introductory price, and it will last forever until the next one is ready." 

Matt the Fatt Harrison does not have an earned doctorate, not even an STM. His own denomination gave him an honorary divinity degree because he won his first election. Who better to use Luther in mocking the traditional Bible?! Who better to lead a large group astray. Wait - they are leaving in large numbers.

The numbers do not matter. Biblical doctrine does. Since the established seminaries cannot find a way to teach the doctrine of Luther, Melanchthon, and Chemnitz, our little congregation is starting its Reformation Seminary, headquartered in "the spare room of a rented house."

Fellow Lutherans - You Do Not Understand the ELCA-LCMS-WELS-ELS Betrayal.They Will Never Allow the Same Destruction To Be Used Against Them!

 

Listen up, folks. This is my last post on Lutheran apostasy...

Anyone complaining about the decline of the synods must understand it as a coordinated, military style war that the present managers fashioned for their own prestige, luxuries, and loot. 

They worked together while pretending to be disgusted and alarmed at the other synods, which made cooperation much easier long ago, starting with seminary professors and Lutheran insurance. But let us get down to the basics.

Justification Without Faith was a bit difficult, in one form or another, but they all built up a great war machine against anyone who criticized Objective Faithless Justification or another generic brand - Universal Salvation (all grace, man, all!). That has been completed 100%, so that anyone with an IQ will find a truckload of manure poured on him and anyone he knows. 

Parallel is the attack on the Hebrew and Greek texts of the Bible. But there was more on the Greek text (called Byzantine, Traditional, or Apostolic) since Judaism did not throw away the Old Testament the way the 20th century Lutherans repudiated theirs, with a vengeance.

Lenski, like several other respected Biblical scholars, fell for the phony Greek texts (Vaticanus and Sinaiticus  of the 1881 KJV Revision) that the Bad Bible Brokers have used ever since. The genius of the BBBs comes from erasing passages for the most part - like the empty tomb in Mark 16. They teach the poorly educated seminarians with enough conjured contradictions that the poor things graduate full of confusion and weak on faith in the efficacious Word.

I predicted this in 2015, with Photoshop, no magic globe needed.

The "conservative" Lutherans bray about Biblical inerrancy - like donkeys on a forced march - but they prove all their Bibles to be errant, contradictory, and false, negating inerrancy completely. (Thanks Rev. Lito Cruz, PhD.) The NIVs do not even agree with each other on the Chief Article.

This two-pronged attack (Bibles and Biblical doctrine) has turned the synods listed into a joke, still trying to be good businesses while their management and sales schemes falter and fail. Not long ago, their heroes questioned the Lutheran basics and fought to change them. Traditional clergy were shunned and ridiculed because they clung to their KJV Bibles and their old hymnals. One WELS clown said, "We have to give up a whole generation of the retired to attack the youth of tomorrow." Does that sound like Paul Kelm and his buddies? How well has it worked?

The managers, sub-managers, and disciples stand together against anyone favoring Reformation doctrine, the KJV, and good hymnals. The synod parasites will spread any falsehood to keep their Thrivent goodies flowing, from deluxe conferences to special deals known only to them. 

 Hundreds of pounds later, these three Bachelor of Divinity graduates are still keeping
us stunned by their lack of sincerity.



Cry the Beloved Country Church Growth

Waldo Werning serviced pastors in WELS, ELS, and LCMS.

I knew "Dr" Waldo Werning fairly well - but not that well. He admitted that he studied at Fuller Seminary, which I recorded in my Day-Timer. Later, he denied it and I cited his admission from my Day-Timer. An ELS pastor asked me what made Werning fly into a rage.

Others, like his pal David Valleskey, also had the practice of gushing over Church Growth - and raging if anyone told the truth about him. I asked him face-to-face and poor David did his best to not answer. David's buddy Frosty Bivens blurted the same denial, even though he admitted going to Fuller and loving it. DP John Seifert was there when Bivens made his confession and denied the truth about Frosty twice. Fuller-denial was once a deadly virus that even spread to those who knew but did not know.

Now that the dust has settled, does anyone have any claim that Fuller Seminary and copy-cats caused the Christian Faith - or even statistics - to grow during those decades of folly, lying, and  disgrace?

The corporate managers of the ELCA-ELS-WELS-LCMS sects are delighted to deny Christ and embrace Donald McGavran.

Several matters have come up in the last few weeks.

I.

One is the obvious collapse of the LCMS-ELS-WELS higher education apparatus. Long ago the synods decided to throw the cost of college and seminary onto the students, unlike those grey beards who took advantage of their own dirt-cheap tuition.  One Augustana Seminary student brought in potatoes from his farm as payment for tuition - truly dirt cheap. I paid $75 per semester at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary in 1970, which it was LCA and not ELCiC, eh. At some point the pain became unbearable and students rushed for the exits - or simply avoided the ghastly entry fees. Martin Luther College (WELS) charges huge fees for providing professors with nothing more than a MDiv from Mequon, and the seminary is no better. A DMin is not a doctorate but a joke. Five hundred years ago, a real doctorate was expected of Luther, Chemnitz, and the rest. Mel earned it but was not given the title because he looked so young. 

The worst of all worlds is a series of "Lutheran" schools teaching nonsense, mocking the Lutheran Reformation, rejecting the Apostolic text of the Bible,  and attacking Justification by Faith. The toxic Jesuits - who did their best to counter the Reformation - are now teaching in the Lutheran chimera of higher education.

II.

The synods are falling apart, like the tofu buildings of China, where building materials are so corrupted that structures fall apart within a few years. Because they are crumbling and bumbling, they have no recourse except to work together (ELCA-WELS-ELS-LCMS) in extracting money from Thrivent's pro-abortion and multi-sexual goals.

Two students per class year at Bethany Seminary! Are they aware of the real Marvin Schwan story? Not likely. I sent the Forbes magazine to Herman Otten, so it was my fault that Marvin dumped his wife for his manager's! Does anyone have a conscience today?

III.

If the sect managers only exalted the Scriptures as much as ice cream money!

KJV Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

I am encouraged to hear that there is a network of Lutherans who know their sects have been slowly destroyed by promoting false Bibles, bad hymnals, and predatory managers of mammon. They look forward to Ichabod posts and they love the idea of the Reformation Seminary. Compare our tuition fee - $0 - to the seminaries.  Do not forget their book fees, chapel fees, intern charges, parking fees, overpriced meals, and debt.

One long-time friend told me he looked for articles three times a day, and I used to check that - he was right.

The nickname for Mequon is The Sausage Factory.

ELCA Professor Carl Braaten, A Paul Tillich Groupie, Has Died, Age 94 - Co-Author of Notorious Braaten-Jenson Two-Volume Christian Dogmatics

 

Carl Braaten promoted the faith without belief  gibberish that overturned what his missionary father taught. Oddly, Carl thought the Seminex faculty, who joined Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, were the real radicals.

Braaten and his team of professorial apostates put together a massive, two-volume Christian Dogmatics where all the basics of the Christian Faith were denied. I bought the set from Fortress so I could copy the main quotes. Then I sent it back saying it was a pile of rubbish, trying to be polite. Fortress wrote back, "They are using it in all our seminaries." Soon after, Fortress was denying the seminaries were using it as their textbook.

An LCA pastor said at a retreat I attended on my way out, "Everyone should get Braaten-Jenson. They are conservatives. Their colleagues are saying that God-language is useless and meaningless now." 

"Later they quote Braaten again, saying that as ELCA Lutherans we believe as truth, "If Jesus is the Lord and Savior, he is the universal Lord and Savior, not merely my personal Lord and Savior. Because Jesus is the unique and universal Savior, there is a large hope for salvation, not only for me and others with the proper credentials of believing and belonging to the church, but for all people whenever or wherever they might have lived and no matter how religious or irreligious they may have proved to be themselves."

One of the blokes said in their book - The Trinity is nothing more than God, the man Jesus, and the Spirit as the spirit of the believing community. [From memory, more or less] That should make everyone jump up and buy the $80 two-volume set.

AAL/Lutheran Brotherhood/Thrivent kept getting the LCA/ALC/LCMS/WELS/Thrivent professors and leaders together as one giant marketing scheme, though watered down with other non-profits, not just the apostates Lutherans.

I could go on about where Braaten-Jenson took the Lutherans. I even published Liberalism, Its Cause and Cure. The collapse has already begun, but it really started in those early days when they could get away with undermining Lutheran doctrine and the KJV.
