Better at Saving Vimeos Than Getting the Live Broadcast Front and Center

I will be working with a Vimeo tutor Monday-
Tuesday so we can have them live and at the front in the future, aiming at Wednesday. We have a Vimeo and  YouTube saved for today, Advent 2, plus the late developing Facebook copy.

This sticky post on the left column will improve as I refine the links. Right now I feel like a hog on ice, trying to sort out the many controls used by Vimeo. Input about woes and wins will help refine this.

The newest video is on the top, and it is ready about an hour after the service is over. Facebook seems a little slower than YouTube in converting.

The Ustream-IBM videos will be archived here until they are downloaded and posted on another YouTube channel. We saved 900 videos the old way, including Greek lessons. IBM said we had over 32,000 views.

New Page Created for Vimeo Streams of Worship, Plus Books and Vimeo Lectures in the Future

My initial idea is to send the live worship service and lectures to YouTube and Facebook at the same time. They are also stored on Vimeo.

The Facebook page is handy for having all the videos on one location and backed up that way.

If you go to it and like it, more people will be aware of it. 

 Too bad Matt the Fatt, Mirthless Mark the Bookkeeper, and Jon-Boy Buchholz never read this passage from Martin Chemnitz.

The Ma and Pa Kettle Movie Studio

 

We got talked into these clothes for a portrait, and one friend said he liked it the most. I said, "We look like Ma and Pa Kettle," stars of some very funny movies long ago. Ma Kettle was also in Meet Me in St. Louis and other movies.

Tonight I caught onto the way we can broadcast live through YouTube, which is the biggest outlet. The service should also show up live on our Vimeo page, which I will link in the morning. Facebook may be similar but I will probably just link the finished video there for now.

The service and other productions will be saved on Vimeo. You can also right-click on the video and save it as an mp4, as one reader discovered.

I will send around the service in Word, as before. I am accumulating email addresses since I lost them all when the email software crashed into little 1s and 0s.

This has a lot of potential for multi-users and bringing us closer together on those videos, such as small group discussions.

Hello Pastor Jackson

I received notice that my church has cancelled tomorrow's Sunday service and may cancel future services during the course of the C-19 epidemic. I live in New Jersey and our governor has asked that organizations cancel gatherings of 250 or more people. I suspect that the governor's request prompted the church's decision.

So, I will be front and center for your service tomorrow. It looks like you're ahead of the curve in terms of providing a Divine Service via the internet.

Recent Thank-Yous from Readers and Viewers

We had some recent thank-you notes from people who have participated in our Sunday or mid-week services.

One came from the Upper Midwest, when the flu kept the couple from attending their home church. They were pleased we devoted the service to Gerhardt hymns.

Another household was experiencing a lack of mobility, so our service provided an alternative to pain and night driving.

The powerful snowstorms in the East meant that one man did not have to skip worship on Wednesday night - he could be with us.

We have viewers in New York State, Iowa, and Michigan, too, plus a cluster on the Left Coast. Australia? Yes.
