Yesterday we learned that our favorite medical person, a nurse practitioner, has a doctorate in her field. How quiet the blogosphere would be if Lutheran clergy were unable to publish until they had completed a graduate degree in some field. Unfortunately, Walther only earned a B.A., which qualified him to be president of the seminary, president of the synod, in charge of the publishing house and magazines, and chief ecumenical officer.

Repeating PowerPoints from seminary is not a real education, especially when the schools teach "obfuscate to graduate."

Phil Hale joins a string of Ft. Wayne graduates who treasure their mal-education.

So far, the 2020 issues of the misnamed Christian News have earned this score:

1. Justification by Faith - no mentions.
2. Means of Grace - no mentions.
3. Efficacy of the Word - no mentions, not even with efficacy or efficacious alone.

What Luther and the Book of Concord taught with great clarity is lost in the fog of current topics.

A bitter and vindictive Phil Hale just saved me five minutes per week. I no longer have access to the e-version of Calvinist News. I noticed that the venerable tabloid had shriveled to 18 pages, down 33% from 24 pages. I imagine the reboot will last as long as the marriage of Prince Harry and the Woke Wallis Simpson.

Perhaps I stepped on some tender hammer-toes when I listed the utter lack of Biblical, Lutheran doctrine in the tabloid. I should have said even more.

I expected this. Otten kept me on the list because he was not afraid to deal with controversy. As he said, he sold to both sides of the issue - Lutheran and Roman Catholic, Lutheran and Evangelical, OJ and UOJ.

Hale is the product of humorless, repeat-after-me LCMS conformity - ABDICATE to GRADUATE.

CN will appeal only to those Walther fans covered with cobwebs. They stage boycotts and temper tantrums when they spot Justification by Faith ("Satanic!" - Hale) and Biblical exegesis ("The wrong path!" - Hale), but they are supremely indifferent to articles from Calvinist and Roman Catholic sources.

The Failure of Christian News Is Self Evident

Lutheran News (the name of the non-profit) became Christian News to reach a broader base. That marketing move worked, because Roman Catholic conservatives and Babtist conservatives used the tabloid to reach their audiences.

 The OJ advocates have a loathing for Luther -
WELS, LCMS, ELS, CLC (sic) - similar to Rome's.

Christian News was definitely not independent. Otten, the son of a successful painting contractor, played both sides of the issues, as he wrote in defending his profits from The Facts (sic) about Luther, that he "sold to both sides."

Nor was Otten independent. He had minders in each synod who made sure their scandals did not get out. If they did, the lurid stories were hidden on page 17 - like the Hochmuth arrest  and child porn at WELS headquarters. So the synod leaders hated Otten (supposedly) and kept his publishing on a leash at all times.

Each LCMS Synod President - from Jack Preus to Matt the Fatt - campaigned for office through Christian News. I was at his office when John Johnson (Concordia, St. Louis) was flattering him and Otten was calling that new version of Seminex the "greatest seminary in the world."

 I learned from CN that every church body has horrible scandals, except for the LCMS, WELS, ELS, and CLC (sic). For those members, heaven will be a big disappointment.
Missouri sponsored the Hour of Schauer.

Otten fluttered around about the Chief Article of Christianity and Church Growth. He had faint praise for Dr. Walter A. Maier, but his heart belonged to CFW Walther, BA. Otten never faced the truth of Walther's Pietism, poor education, and covering for Stephan's sex crimes. The myth continues and the blinded Missourians make the veneration of Mary seem rather tepid. The Great Walther answers every question! Just ask LutherQuest (sic).

Otten honored his long-time friend Kurt Marquart with a series of reprints, but the editor was eager to promote David Valleskey's Church Growth idiocy - We Believe, Therefore We Have Sneaker Services.

Marquat's criticism of Church Growth was doctrinal and devastating. Which side was Otten on? Marketing.

The Rationalistic Historical-Critical Method (HCM) Has Captured the Roman Catholics, the Fulleroids, and Each Lutheran Sect

 Valleskey brought Fuller Enthusiasm to Mordor and became its president as a Fuller alumnus, a fact which he both denied and affirmed. How much did WELS prosper under his regurgitated Barthian rationalism?

Pope Herman the Waltherist loves to sell Church Growth and Roman Catholic books, refuting his claims of being Biblical or faithful to the Book of Concord.

“Most of the scholars who use the historical-critical method base their analysis of the Biblical text on certain rationalistic, anti-scriptural presuppositions, and supernaturalism, for example.

HCM completely dominated the ALC/LCA and invaded the LCMS. The Seminex crisis was caused by HCM and backed by Jungkuntz, also a big fan of UOJ from his WELS days. As one WELS pastor told me, Northwestern College (WELS) alumni meetings often sported many Seminex bumper stickers in the parking lot. Many students thought Jungkuntz was IT! - and he promoted HCM stealthily, letting the OT man at NWC, Gerke, take the hits and get pushed out first.

The HCM never left the LCMS because it was associated with the best and brightest, like Neuhaus. When Seminex formed and a little sect around it, "only the worst liars left." Many stayed to convert the LCMS - and they did.

Fibby, son of  Ludwig Fuerbringer, built up the St. Louis campus into a majority HCM campus, with some exceptions - Robert Preus. A few like Bohlmann pretended to be conservative.

Now HCM spreads even faster among all Evangelicals and Lutherans through the vast number of Fuller alumni, DMins and PhDs in every denomination. Karl Barth and his mistress Charlotte Kirschbaum are the most influential theologians of this apostate age - sorry to say. Karl and Charlotte loved to play with the "yes" and "no" of everything. They are the official theologians of Fuller, since the key Fuller Seminary leaders went to Switzerland to study with Barth.

All one needs to depart from the Scriptures is to say with Barth, "The Bible is not the Word of God, but contains the Word of God."

Rationalism and the HCM are Calvinist vices. The ultimate cause is letting human reason judge the Word. Luther and his best associates used their genius to declare (exegesis) the meaning of the Scriptures.

The Age of Gimmicks and Methods - brought on by Fuller Seminary and its lackeys - has encouraged Lutherans and Evangelicals to abandon their trust in the efficacy of the Word. More fallout from this includes the hyper-grace groups that are really Antinomian - there is no Law. For them, the Law is obsolete because everyone is forgiven and saved, another version of UOJ.

 Jungkuntz' WELS-bred UOJ led to his sponsorship of the Metropolitan Community Church to train their gay activists as ministers. How can Otten and Harrison support UOJ and claim to be traditional marriage advocates?

Another Disgraceful Issue of Herman Otten's Christian News

WELS was slow in removing all their Hochmuth videos and graphics, but their speed and thoroughness have both increased. Save everything early or it will be gone in hours.

The March 19, 2018 issue of Christian News is another  long sales-pitch for Roman Catholic book sales. Randy Engel wants to sell us the news that many Catholic prelates are homosexuals, but Luther observed the people worshiped as gods those cardinals who were satisfied with a woman - 500 years ago.

The real news is WELS-LCMS going along with the ELCA-RC stampede out of the closets.

Wisconsin Lutheran College invited Weakland to give a public lecture there - and WELS lied about it, calling it "a private luncheon" as if that mattered. WLC invited the whole community and included lectures by Weakland's favorite priests, who doubtless were also gayer than lavender hose.

“Rembert Weakland quickly became one of the darlings of the liberal hierarchy of the United States” (823). 

“A r c h b i s h o p Weakland was one of the first supporters of the forays of the Homosexual Collective into the Catholic Church in America. In Rueda’s The Homosexual Network published in 1982, Weakland’s role in assisting the Collective to advance its agenda in Am-Church is well documented. 

“As reported by Rueda, Weakland’s pro-homosexual position including active support for pro-homosexual legislation is a matter of public record and his contribution to the Homosexual Movement has been acknowledged by all major national homosexual groups including the National Gay Task Force, Dignity and New Ways Ministry. 

“Weakland’s notorious homosexual apologia, Herald of Hope. The Archbishop Shares: Who is Our Neighbor? which appeared in the Catholic Herald Citizen, the diocesan weekly for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on July 19, 1980 is filled with vintage pro-homosexual Newspeak. Weakland employs pro-homosexualist Linguistics throughout the text and defends every tenet of the Homosexual Collective from ‘homosexuality is inborn and irreversible’ to ‘gay is good.’ The Archbishop consistently uses the term ‘gay people’ when referring to homosexuals. His essay undermines the Bible’s condemnation of sodomy and debunks the idea that homosexuals prey on young boys. The pro-homosexual article appeared the same year that Archbishop Weakland himself engaged in a homosexual affair with a layman” (824). 

“According to writer-researcher Robert A. Sungenis, ‘Out of 36 priests who were named as child molesters in the archdiocese, 21 of them are still in the Milwaukee area and 6 of those have active assignments. Not one of the 36 has ever been so much as questioned, and no parishioners, except the victims, knew the names of these priests. 

“While the Archdiocesan public relations department touted Weakland’s model program for handling clerical sex offenders, the Archbishop was shuffling offenders from parish to parish” (825).

Christian News buried the story of government agents raiding WELS headquarters and finding lots of child porn there, courtesy of Joel Hochmuth. The communications director got an easy plea, then re-offended. UOJ means never having to say you're sorry.

Norm Fischer Looks at Concordia Seminary's Can of Worms - Fudging on Creation. January 15, 2018 Christian News

I began reading a column from Norm Fischer, originally from the Steadfast News group blog, reprinted in Christian News, p 5. I was surprised to find something good in Steadfast News, but then I realized Fischer is a layman. He is a clear writer and fun to read.

The issue has three or four steps, maybe more by now:

1. Concordia, St. Louis questioned key issues in Creation, caving toward evolution - the length of a day and the age of Mother Earth. Chuck Arand either wrote the article or followed up on it.
2. Two districts sent letters to Concordia to address the issue.
3. The entire faculty accused every pastor in two districts of violating the Eighth Commandment.
4. Matt the Fatt, who failed to get his doctorate at the seminary, joined in.

As always, Lutherans want to argue the fine points of the distraction rather than deal with the main issue, which is not Creation in this case.

 Do the faculties teach this? If so, they should
reject UOJ and fellowship with ELCA.

Why is the Missouri Synod working religiously with ELCA?
Why do LCMS pastors join Rome and Eastern Orthodoxy?
Why do Walther's disciples agree with WELS/ELS about Church Growth and Justification without Faith? and
Why are they fudging on Creation?

 The Jackson Rose Garden grows flowers without chemical
fertilizers or chemical toxins. Neighbors wonder, "How do you do that?" It is Creation gardening, I explain. God mulches and so do I. The best pest destroyers spin webs and fly around the roses.

We went to see a famous Calvinist talk about religion and politics. The attendance was small. I looked him up and he was quoted saying - "We have to compromise on evolution or we will become irrelevant to the modern world."

The problems with the LCMS/WELS/ELS seminaries will never be solved until they believe, teach, and confess the efficacy of the Word. There are little proofs of their apostasy, such as working with ELCA, going to Fuller, scarfing down Thrivent dollars, and teaching against the Chief Article - not to mention not knowing the Chief Article at all.

The question is not -

• Do you believe God created the universe in six 24-hour days? but - 
• Do you believe the Son is the Creating Word of John 1:3?

• Does the Gospel Word plant faith in our hearts through the work of the Holy Spirit? or
• Do we hear the entire world has been absolved of sin, without faith, and say - Yes, I have decided that is true!

All the Lutheran synods are swarming hives of Enthusiasts, always buzzing about this and that, filling the world with their nonsense while insisting on being taken seriously. The synod leaders are no better.

Comedy Issue of Christian News - November 28, 2016. Which Is Lutheran? Concordia St. Louis or Otten's CN? Answer - Neither One

Which Is Truly Lutheran? Concordia Journal or Christian News? 

Faithful readers of both the Concordia Journal of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis and Christian News know that the answer to the question in the above title is obviously Christian News. While only a few Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod pastors subscribe to Christian News and CN cannot afford to send it to them each week, the Concordia Journal is sent free to most of LCMS clergy. 

The current masthead of the Concordia Journal (p. 2) says: “Issued by the faculty of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, the Concordia Journal is the successor of Lehre Und Wehre (1855-1929), begun by C.F.W. Walther, a founder of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Lehre Und Wehre was absorbed by the Concordia Theological Monthly (1930-1974) which was also published by the faculty of Concordia Seminary as the official theological periodical of the Synod.”

The Concordia seminaries and Christians News - plus Concordia Publish House - all teach Universalism in the form of Universal Objective Justification.

Innocent Lutherans should recall how the LCMS was formed. First of all, the Loehe congregations invited the Perryville fanatics to discuss forming with them.

Secondly, Walther did not found the LCMS. Bishop Martin Stephan did. Stephan was an abusive, promiscuous Pietist who kept a covy of young women around him. He told them he was in charge of their souls and their bodies.

Stephan was so well known for his late night walks with young women that the police followed him. Stephan demanded absolute obedience from his clergy followers, commonly called the Walther circle. CFW Walther was Stephan's enforcer. Whoever disagreed with Stephan for any reason was punished until he repented.

Stephan was already syphilitic and openly living with various young women in Dresden, where he led a Pietistic church but developed an outside group, more of a mini-synod. He had Walther and the others gather money for him.

Stephan was not even qualified to lead a congregation but the Pietistic congregation had a special ruling that allowed them cell groups and the power to call their own pastor, so they called Stephan.

The only reason the Stephan group left Europe was his house arrest after being tried for immorality and misuse of finances. That prompted the long planned escape. The Stephanite clergy urged spouses to divorce to come along and encouraged minors to come with them. The Walther brothers kidnapped their nephew and niece from their father's home, to bring them along.

Those crimes against minors would be enough to get most people put in the Big House for a long, long time. That is why so many were hostile to the Stephanites, but Missouri portrays that as religious persecution. Ha!

UOJ from Halle University and Bishop Stephan's Brief Studies
Walther confessed that he learned justification from Stephan, and the syphilitic pastor was the man who insisted on being the cult's bishop. Walther signed the document, in spite of the denials of various LCMC mythologists.

Halle UOJ is what unites the ELCA, LCMS, ELS, WELS, and CLC (sic). The ELDONUTs had no trouble with UOJ until Pastor Rydecki took an interest in them.

In short, UOJ teaches Universalism in this way - God has already declared the world righteous, forgiven of sin. The Objective Justification and Subjective Justification terms are not from Luther, the Reformation, or the Book of Concord era. They were coined - or at least used - by the Calvinist translator of the famous Knappe theology lectures from Halle University.

The nonsense spewed by Jay Webber, Jack Cascione, Rolf Preus, Jon-Boy Buchholz, David Valleskey, and others is straight outta Halle. Webber even cited Halle's Rambach against Chemnitz. When Webber was called on his Halle affections, on the Intrepid Lutherans blog, he waxed indignant.

the thoroughly UOJ Rolf Synod.
Rolf is the one who looks like Santa in civilian clothes.

As far as I can determine, the UOJ faction gradually took over Missouri and WELS. The ELS seems to have been formed as a rejection of Justification by Faith, masked by their claims of true, rock-ribbed Lutheran Orthodoxy. That works as a ruse because Stephan emphasized the Book of Concord and opposed rationalism. The Rationalists hated Pietism, which they also called Mysticism. Walther managed to be an ardent Pietist and be approved for ordination by the state ecclesiastic powers, proving as Stephan said, the CFW was "a fox."

Anyone can find examples of WELS and Missouri teaching Justification by Faith - and NOT UOJ.

Christian News - fashioning itself as the latest Walther publication - has always sided with UOJ while trying to claim Justification by Faith at the same time. Otten's doctrinal expert is Jack Cascione, whose pathetic Reclaiming Walther is just as Lutheran as Hillary's books are models of honesty and humility.

Speaking of honest and humility, here is the blowhard Cascione at work:

I visited Dr. Robert Preus at his home in Minnesota and showed him the problem when we were alone in his study.

Doctor Preus was never given to emotion; at least not in the years I had worked for him and known him. He looked at the passages in "God's Word" that mistranslated justification "by" and "through" faith and burst into uncontrolled weeping.

So in choosing between the LCMS publications and Otten's, we are given a false dilemma. Which is more Lutheran?

Our son, Little Ichabod, figured out false dilemmas as a young boy. When I asked him if he wanted his bath before or after dinner, he said firmly, "Neither!"

Otten seems outraged that the Missouri Synod, which kicked him out, is so kind to liberals and so willing to work with ELCA. Nunes (LCMS) is a choice example, because his vicar from ELCA murdered a woman in the congregation. When I told Otten's stealth friend - Paul McCain, at the Purple Palace - that Missouri obtained ELCA vicars for their congregations, Paul the Plagiarist flipped his wig and denied it. I saw the evidence in writing at the ELCA seminary in Columbus, where vicars wrote up their vicarage adventures. ELCA women preached, baptized, and consecrated in LCMS congregations.

No one has expended more ink denying Justification by Faith than Herm Otten. And that is the elastic bond between ELCA and the LCMS. Because both church bodies teach Justification without Faith, they can get along, plan, worship, and do evangelism together without internal or external contradiction. They are living out their unfaith.

Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. (New NIV for the UOJ crowd) James 3:1

Here is a little church history for those who snoozed through their classes in college, seminary, and graduate school. The graduate school reference is gratuitous since so many want to teach without the education needed.

Universal Objective Justification - also OJ and General Justification - came from the Pietists at Halle University. The concept existed in Lutherdom only once before, when Huber was kicked out of Wittenberg for teaching UOJ and attacking Justification by Faith.

Halle taught UOJ, a milder form than the flotsam promoted in the LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC-ELCA today, and the Calvinist translator of their major textbook used the terms Objective Justification and Subjective Justification in an explanatory note. Walther learned his UOJ from his Pietistic and syphilitic bishop, Martin Stephan, who learned it at Halle University.

Walther's Pietistic and rationalistic UOJ took some time to dominate the LCMS, and when it did, there was no room for Justification by Faith, which is barely tolerated in Missouri now and excommunicated from WELS, the ELS, and the CLC (sic).

Note that grace is the term used in all the mainline denominations and ELCA to state that everyone in the world is already forgiven and saved, the constant theme of WELS.

When they use the Reformation term Means of Grace, they mean telling the poor souls they are already forgiven and saved. Most laity have the Biblical knowledge to ignore this tripe, but the leaders and professors live it and love it. Their only condemnation is for those who deny their beloved and addicting UOJ.

Trinity in Bridgeton told Otten they would not give any more money to Christian News if Otten published my articles. Anathema sit!

WELS kicked Paul Rydecki out of their sect and tried to foreclose the church property. Anathema sit!

Jack Casione attacked me for quoting Robert Preus, who had many excellent classic quotations against UOJ in Justification and Rome. Anathema sit!

Pope John the Malefactor responded to a letter about justification with this headline - "How Can Anyone Who Questions UOJ Call Himself a Christian?" - thus excommunicating a layman just for asking about the domga. Anathema sit!

ELCA, WELS, the LCMS, and ELS came from the bowels of Pietism, so they share a common history, a common school (Halle University) and a common heresy - UOJ. The mainline denominations are similarly from the mission initiatives of the Pietists, so they all have the "why can't we all get along" mentality that turned Halle into a center of rationalism in only one generation.

A denomination without a sincere confessional basis cannot resist the go-along-get-along philosophy of Pietism. As long as Missouri and WELS had some leaders who knew and loved the theology and Biblical insights of the Reformation, they thrived. The mighty oaks of the past have fallen and their books have been left forgotten in the archives of used book sales. I can obtain them for $1 plus $4 shipping.

Christian News clearly sells to a mixed audience of UOJ fanatics, loyal Babtists, and conservative Roman Catholics. Otten tolerates every dogma but not the Chief Article of the Christian Religion.

Another Broadside against Lutheran Doctrine - November 7, 2016 Christian News Still in Bed with Church Growth and Universal Salvation without Faith

Northwestern Publishing House is cashing in on the Reformation's 500th Anniversary, with a book filled with Anti-Lutheran, Anti-Christian authors, including retired Rabbi John Brug above.

The Table of Contents says:

Otten thinks that Fuller Seminary fan Reuel Schulz was the ideal pastor,
even though Reuel praised Wagner in print.
However, WELS-LCMS-ELS-CLC (sic) agree on one thing,
hating out or excommunicating anyone who criticizes Church Growth.
News note on Wagner - he is finally dead.

Christian News promotes an odd agenda, criticizing ELCA and Missouri for kissing up to the Church of Rome while doing the same Church of Rome in his publications. He seems to be buddy of the Roman conservatives who do not like the homosexual leaders of their church being promoted and protected. But Otten will not hear of that going on in his own corner of Christendom - the LCMS and WELS. When I told the truth about the same hi-jinks in his favorite Lutheran markets, he apologized to WELS, John Brug, and apparently the entirely lavender mafia in Lutherdom. 

The current issue has two uncritical articles about Catholic conservatives, Likoudis and Rueda. Otten has some Vatican news too.
