Martin Luther College (WELS) News - Gay Video No Longer on YouTube - But Still on Facebook

This is a still from Party in the MLC,
found on Google Images,
but also posted on Facebook.
This will not look good at the evidence hearing for Joel Hochmuth.

Someone in WELS told me Party in the MLC was no longer on YouTube. I checked and could not find it there.

I looked up the link on Facebook, and the video is still showing there. I am no video expert, but the one on YouTube claimed to be cloned and was a bit off from the quality of the original. The one still on Facebook looks like the original. The boys who made the video are now studying to be WELS pastors.

Here is the Facebook link.

I noted the Facebook link more than once before. It also shows up in Google searches. You do not want to land on the sites that linked it in the first place, although they show the video link taken down, the Google search still takes people to those homosexual website.

WELS Irreformable

bruce-church (http://bruce-church.myopenid.com/) has left a new comment on your post "Mark and Avoid Jeske Memorial Explores the Outer L...":

The WELS is irreformable, as the MLC homoerotic video incident attests. SP Schroeder even went to bat for the offenders saying it was a spoof on gaydom, probably due to reasons of extended family nepotism. If someone complains about anything, whatever is abusive will be explained away as being harmless, and the complainer will be summarily booted out of the WELS, or semi-shunned, where he might as well have been booted out.

***

GJ - The convention should not have shocked the Intrepids. SP Schroeder showed his colors when he failed to nix the Martin Luther College homosexual video and forced Herman Otten to print a retraction, even an apology, for printing the truth about the debacle.

The video was taped and shown at Martin Luther College, their School of Ministry. The participants proudly uploaded it to YouTube for everyone to see. When a reaction set in, started by comments and a link from a WELS layman, the students began whining at Wisconsin Lutheran College, the twin-sister of MLC in promoting Church Growth Enthusiasm. The students offered to forgive me for posting the truth about their plagiarism. They "did not know" the original video was gay, they claimed--in print--in the WLC student paper. Yes, I got a copy of their lies, in black and white.

They did not know the original was gayer than lavender tights? They should be kicked out for being bad liars, since lying is simply a sport in WELS.

SP Schroeder trotted out a new excuse for Christian News. Now these poor innocent WELSian lambs--who previously knew not gaity when they saw men from Fire Island (a gay resort) prancing around on a Miley Cyrus video--were deliberately mocking homosexuals. So they did know what they were doing, and that made it just fine in Schroeder's eyes - and in Otten's!

The video can be seen on YouTube and on their precious Facebook page, where they brag about it.

I suggest being careful about Googling the topic. Copies of the MLC version got around and began showing up on websites overly fond of Judy Garland and Liberace.

Martin Luther College To Start Early Childhood Education Program, Spend $1.5 Million on Repairs

MLC College President Mark Zarling denied that his college was closing in his Q and A on November 9th.

He announced the start of an Early Childhood Education Program.

He also said the school was already beginning $1.5 million in repairs.

Twenty students attended.

No one asked why the infamous video was still posted on YouTube and Facebook:

The MLC students do not know they were kelming a gay video from Fire Island.

British Church Mouse and Islam.
Driscoll, A WELS Favorite

Church Mouse knows about Eurabia.

churchmousec (http://churchmousec.wordpress.com/) has left a new comment on your post "WELS' Yankee Stadium Moment: The Wrong Message abo...":

Thank you so much, Dr Jackson, for this succinct yet informative post on Islam.

To anyone reading this post, please circulate, discuss the facts therein with your family, ensuring that your children are aware of them. Also, please read some reliable books (pre-1970s) about the Crusades. The subject has been generally absent from history books in schools and, where it is present, has been a revisionist study for many years.

All best wishes from the UK

Two words for what's going on here: 'itching ears'!

Every time I see Mark Driscoll's name, I get queasy. This is someone who has had no qualms about speculating on Jesus's metabolic functions in front of an audience. He makes light of them ... very bad, indeed:

http://thechristianworldview.com/tcwblog/archives/1640

'Mark had fun with the question whether or not Jesus went “potty.” ... What was the congregation’s response? They laughed.'

What more can one say? There is a LOT more at the link.

Guess who studied under Driscoll in Seattle? Ski, Glende, and Bishop Katie.

Original Words - Lord, Keep Us Steadfast:
Martin Luther College Is Going ELCA

Influence shrinking, shrinking.

Lord, keep us steadfast in Thy Word;
And curb the murderous pope and Turk
Who'd wrest the kingdom from Thy Son
And set at naught all He hath done.

Luther's original words have been changed for the delicate. Above is an English version.

WELS Still Defending Their Gay, Illegal Video

Aaron has left a new comment on your post "MLC's Video Alive on Facebook":

This video was made to have a good laugh. A homecoming video. For fun.

I'm the dance instructor, and I approved this video.

GJ - Do you remember all the threats about legal action because I PhotoShop and copy some blog posts (with credit)?

The fun-loving future ballerinas stole the Miley Cyrus song and used it in their video, without permission. That is a violation of the law. Miley Cyrus and those who own the rights to the song have a legal right to sue the students involved, Martin Luther College, and the Wisconsin Synod. I imagine the school officials are also individually liable, since they condoned the showing and posting of this video, which remained on YouTube a long time, surfaced on many homosexual sites, surfaced in Europe after it was "taken down," and appeared again in Facebook with its own fanpage.

The video itself was almost a frame-by-frame copy of the homosexual video from the Fire Island Pines.

WELS people always lie their way out of situations, and the MLC boys did not disappoint. They tried to claim they did not know Party in the Fire Island Pines was gay! Har, har.

Here are some quotations from their Facebook page, which has 1300+ fans, many from WELS schools:

Gaydar was installed at MLC,
thanks to a generous grant from Thrivent.
The MLC boys did not know they were plagiarizing a gay video!
They did not know they were plagiarizing!
They did not know that stealing was against the law!

Warning to Bethany, MLC, and WLC: Another One Bites the Dust

Dana College, built to provide an education
for future ministers among the Happy Danes,
has been sold to a for-profit education firm.

"In 1884 Danish Lutheran pioneers established Trinity Seminary at Blair, Nebraska, for the purpose of training men for the parish ministry. Reverend A. M. Andersen, founder of the institution, began teaching seminary courses in his home. Two years later, the first permanent building on the campus was completed. The main emphasis during those early days was on theology and, although some academic courses were offered, they were taught primarily as a background for theological study. The need for additional academic courses was recognized but not fulfilled until 1899 when the Danish College at Elk Horn, Iowa, was merged with the Blair school. The result was the establishment of Dana College as a separate educational institution." Source

From Wikipedia:

The institution faced economic troubles in the 2000s. In 2010 it was sold to a group investors who formed the Dana Education Corporation. This group intends to transform the institution into a for-profit institution with a focus on "doubling enrollment, aggressively marketing the school and building Dana's study abroad program."

ELCA put a smiley face on the Happy Danes in their news release.

Some are asking, "Howzacome you are covering Blair, Nebraska in your position as self-appointed journalist for apostasy?"

I stayed overnight at Dana College when the Augustana College concert band toured the Great Plains. The Happy Danes were a tiny contingent of the LCA, often overlooked in the 1960s merger. The Happy Danes of the LCA were Grundtvigians, contrasted with the Gloomy Danes (Pietists) who joined The ALC.

Grundtvig wrote two very famous hymns: "Built on a Rock," and "God's Word is our great heritage."

Dana's room, board, and tuition were running at $27,000 a year when the school was sold to a for-profit, much like tiny Waldorf College in Iowa. Notre Dame and Yale are costing about $50,000 a year now.

The tiny colleges are failing because their fixed costs are extremely high while their appeal is rather limited. Strange how these little schools survived in the days before federal loans plumped up their finances.

How do they become for-profits? If I may share a few insights from Grand Canyon University, the process works this way:

1. The school is bought for a fraction of the cost of building a new campus.
2. Tenure ends and the over-paid and under-worked faculty may be fired.
3. Online students are added from all over the country.

The key is going online. People feel better about an actual campus location rather than getting a diploma from a server farm. I used to kid online students about logging onto their computers on graduation day for their jpg diploma. I get little in-house training certificates that way, but online graduation is normal, with robes and certificates and speeches.

Not long ago, online schools were a shock. Now everyone takes them for granted. The Ivy Leagues offer online courses. But Mrs. Ichabod and I went to college the old way, which comprises 16% of all college students today. Few can afford the luxury of living at school and taking classes. I commuted.

One college had to limit the number of online courses the students could take, because they were in the dorms and taking all online classes.

The itty-bitty WELS/ELS colleges will have to merge or sell themselves to a for-profit concern. They are not going to survive the next crunch.

Mary Lou College collects a huge fee for the paltry education offered.
Your Costs, 2009-2010
Tuition - $10,660
Room & Board - $4,140
Total = $14,800

For that they often get faculty whose education is little more than a bachelor's degree, in academic standing. Larry Olson has unaccredited MDiv and a Fuller DMin. With that he runs the "Staff Ministry" program, the foundation for women pastors in WELS. Most colleges would laugh at his qualifications to teach. In the Assemblies of God, or the CLC (sic), he would be among the intellectual giants.

Jobs are few in New Ulm. Anyone could stay home, work full-time, and earn an online degree with that amount of money. The teacher candidates are not going to teach. The future ministers will need to have picked the right parents to get a call. If they attend Chicanery conferences, they may get two calls.

WELS Schools in Serious Trouble

The Sausage Factory at Mequon has plenty of cash,
thanks to bequests.
The profs love every doctrine, except Luther's.

The Shrinkers snuffed out Northwestern College in the name of saving money. Now Martin Luther College is going down. The Watertown campus began as the seminary, evolved into the college and prep school, and now exists as Luther Prep - after absorbing the Shrinker experiment at Prairie du Chien, now a prison.

The Wauwatosa campus of WELS had a wonderful Addams Family look, and the ghosts still haunt its eclectic doctrine.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary is the canary in the coal mine.

GJ - This just in - the WELS synodical schools are in serious financial shape.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary is the worst, bled dry by the Gurgle-Mueller dynasty, their recruitment based on "No, we are not going to close next year." An auto-based economy does not help the district, nor does the location of the school.

Ex-SP Gurgle, who is now the campaign manager for Kudu Don Patterson in Texas, blew $30 million on closing Northwestern College, spiffing up Dr. Martin Luther College a bit (removing the "Dr."), and giving away the Prairie campus.

The Watertown campus got a facelift. Some say that the old Toppe regime made it look like a WWII barracks, but no one said it was going to close in those days. Northwestern College in Watertown had a unique identity in being focused on getting men ready to become seminary students. Merging with DMLC, based on a host of lies, was like getting a big shot of estrogen. The coursework was feminazified, languages weakened, and Church Growth fanned into flames. The Watertown profs did not like CG, but MLC is hotter than Georgia asphalt for it.

Can college students get jobs in New Ulm? That was another great move. How do they afford a $60,000 education with no jobs?

Most likely:

1. Michigan Lutheran Seminary will close.
2. Luther Prep will close.
3. Martin Luther College will close.

Meanwhile, millions are spent on weak world missionary efforts scattered around the globe, to make WELS look international. The same visionaries shut down their original efforts among the Apaches. That's right - in the name of saving money.

Plus - WELS has blown $500,000 or so on The CORE, with no discipline for the miscreants involved.

I expect another version of The CORE to erupt soon, since WELS learns nothing from experience.

How solid is this information? What constitutes "serious"? "Serious" is relative, just as a recession is when my neighbor gets laid off, and a depression is when I'm laid off.

MLS is so small, I don't think it could withstand another layoff. I could imagine mass lay-offs at Luther Prep and MLC, but closing either one seems far-fetched.

New Ulm is being helped out by the Schroeder stimulus program--building the new chapel. I think the MLC chapel dedication is still on for Apr 10+11:

GJ - I should tell you my sources to prove how solid? Solid. And it all makes sense. The new pledges were lower than last year's. Idiots run the government, pressing for a $1 trillion dollar program when layoffs continue. I see another drop coming, a W recesssion, they call it.

It's a bad sign when WELS adds a building to a campus.
