Tom Fisher's Regain of Strength, Plus 33 Ewes Lambing

Tom Fisher

to me
Thank you Pastor Jackson for your prayers!  I am feeling much better and steadily regaining my strength. I think I over exerted myself putting temporary fence up to contain my bull. It seems everything needs to be done all of a sudden. I have three more cows to calve and one perhaps two are having trouble carrying their calf to full term. My 33 ewes begin lambing May 1.

In Christ,

Tom Fisher

Energy in Our Lives - From the Divine Essence of God's Word

We can increase our spiritual energy (aka efficacy) by reading and repeating Biblical passages. I tell people about Psalm 91, reading it out loud to myself every day. It is not for sissies - many soldiers have been enormously motivated by this one psalm.

And - this is a surprising and overlooked - Psalm 2.

Psalm 2 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Repetition is the key to remembering. We all know that is also a way to help memory as we become older. (I have felt those memories fade; it is not a good feeling.)

Bibles and Luther's books are filled with treasures.

The Spirit at Work

I began to work on a mechanical approach to the Holy Spirit. But - After a few words down, I was reading pneumatology, which I thought sounded like being in long line at a very slow retail store.

Beginning with faith in Christ is central to all we read in the Scriptures. I might add that the Holy Spirit is there at the beginning of the Bible.

KJV Genesis

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Three verses include the Father - In the beginning; - the Spirit moving over the face of the waters, and - Let there be light.

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God - the triune description of the Trinity.

2 The same was in the beginning with God - the Trinity is God and Three.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made - the Trinity is unified.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men - the Life is in Him, and the Light of Men reaches all people.

The second part of God's work is His Son's visual revelation in Matthew and Luke. That has manufactured a lot of devilish, trying to wrench the old and new Biblical parts away from each other, That is when the Old Testament is clearly portrayed as the bedrock on which the Gospel was revealed - Genesis through Malachi.

Unfortunately, most of the intellectuals today are keen about watering down the actual wording of the Bible (KJV as the clearest and best ). The time has come to trust - yes to have faith - in God's own Word and Work. If the clergy and theologians cannot grasp God's Word, then why should the customers pay for and use the apostate, warped, twisted, rationalistic versions of their imaginations.
  1.  Opinions are not enough - they are man-centered.
  2. The latest ideas are not adequate - they are man-made.
  3. The current rages only tickle the fads.

The Augsburg Confession - Gregory L. Jackson and Norma Boeckler - 12 Years Ago

The Bible is the revealed Word of God, inerrant and infallible, while a confession is man’s witness about God’s revelation. Therefore, the Scriptures are God’s unique message to man – irreplaceable. For that reason, The Holy Bible judges all books. Nevertheless, confessions are valuable and instructive. They are man’s testimony about the meaning of God’s Word. They are concise and precise. When there are conflicts about the meaning of the Scriptures, confessions help people compare areas of agreement and disagreement. Paul commended this activity when he wrote, “For there must be also heresies among you that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.” 1 Corinthians 11:19 KJV. Luther compared this to identifying the wormy flour and separating it from the good flour. Bakers know that wormy flour must be removed immediately from the tons of flour around it, before everything is corrupted and ruined with bugs. We recognize confessions of faith as that same process.
