The Big Five - ELCA-LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC (sic) - Pursuing the Radicalism of Halle University

Lutheran seminary education is so pathetic today
that Rambach's dogma is hailed as Luther's Biblical doctrine.

Let's be clear. This statement in the Book of Concord means:

1. Melanchthon's Apology of the Augsburg Confession teaches Justification by Faith as the Chief Article of Christianity.

2. Luther teaches Justification by Faith throughout his work, and considered himself a "theologian of the Augsburg Confession," expressed elsewhere.

3. The esteemed editors of the Formula and Book of Concord, 1580, including the great genius Martin Chemnitz (who was taught by Luther and Melanchthon) agree that Justification by Faith is indeed the Chief Article, the Master and Prince, the Judge of all other doctrines of Christianity.

Robert Preus provided many statements from the Orthodox Lutheran scholars
which are devastating to Universal Objective Faithless Justification.
Reading comprehension in the Synodical Conference
is almost zero.

The Big Five remind me of the old trick of smashing a puddle of mercury with a hammer, scattering the very toxic shiny beads in all directions. I did not know anyone stupid enough to do that, but it was whispered among my peers. Let's get the facts straight, since we have an abundance of evidence.

The Reformation in Germany was followed by wannabees who claimed to follow Luther and the Bible but veered off in different directions. Calvin and Zwingli absorbed rationalism and picked away at Luther, Melanchthon, and Chemnitz.

The Big Five are not a variety within Lutherdom but the scattered shiny beads of mercury poisoning, a persistent heavy metal. They are perfectly in line with each other. ELCA in 1989 was already insisting on quotas, not even waiting for their nails to dry. They made gay dominance legal and official in 2009.

"One ring to rule them all..." or is this Eaton's test for pastors?

Add the CLC and ELCA to this list of toxic frauds, including WELS inviting and denying that they had the gay RC Archbishop and some priests teach Wisconsin Lutheran College eternal truths. What do the Big Five have in common? - they loathe Luther, Melanchthon, Chemnitz, and the KJV.

Effects can be traced back to the cause. Halle University moved away from Biblical Pietism and embraced promiscuity. The true founder of the LCMS was Martin Stephan, who studied at Halle and became syphilitic. Stephan was the genuine founder of the LCMS, and Walther used the scandal to become pope, organizing a riot

  1. to remove Stephan at the point of a firearm
  2. to force him across the river to Illinois
  3. to take away his land, and
  4. to steal all his gold.

And yet, the LCMS praised themselves while continuing to elevate Walther to a special place in the firmament.

Your Abusive Lutheran Sect Preaches Against Faith - WELS, ELCA, LCMS, ELS, CLC - And Against the Bible

 All Time Views9,900,020

The United World Religion Corporation teaches one thing - assuming we are all simpletons who cannot read - Everyone Is Born Forgiven. They have turned the atoning death of Jesus Christ into universal forgiveness, universal grace, universal salvation. While waving their "sola" signs on Reformation Sunday, they are picking your pockets, emptying your purses, and stealing your mother's estate (Irrevocable Charitable Trust, aka, there goes the farm forever).

The only thing they preach with clarity and energy is We Need More Money To Do His Work. But His means - Their Father Below.

The abusive sects - especially the abusive Lutheran sects - teach grace. They sing Amazing Grace all the time, which may explain why everything and everyone is amazing today. How do we get this amazing grace, some wonder. Simple! Everyone has grace, even before grace, called prevenient grace, that grace which comes before grace, like "Your frozen pizza is coming" although it is not there yet and nobody knows where it is.

The Abusive Lutheran Sects, aka Thrivent victims, claim everyone in the world was forgiven

  1. The moment Jesus died on the cross,
  2. The moment Jesus rose from death,
  3. The moment Adam and Eve were forgiven.

That may sound as confusing as it really is, but the key factor in those claims is this - forgiveness without faith = grace = salvation.

Even the greats - Sam Nafzger and David Valleskey and Mirthless Mark Schroeder - agree to the formula handed down by Calvin and Halle University.

Didja know Halle University, founded on Pietism, was the hotbed for moving away from faith in the Scriptures and into pure rationalism? ELCA calls that "Biblical scholarship" and LCMS-WELS-ELS calls it Universal Objective Faithless Justification.

The Real Message of Grace in Romans

The abusive Lutheran sects are hotter than Georgia asphalt for grace, so why not find out how we obtain grace in Romans (the recent site of New NIV apostasy in Romans 3 - all are justified)?

KJV Romans 5:5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

I realize many in the readership do not have a decent Bible, like the KJV. However, most people understand these two verses.

  • Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ gives us peace through forgiveness of sin.
  • This faith gives us access into this grace.

ELCA and the LCMS-ELS-WELS-CLC (sic) Confuse Justification and Atonement - Part Four of the Blasphemy Essay

Johann Wilhelm Baier was born in 1647 and died in 1695. He taught at Halle University, the mother ship of Pietism, a fact never mentioned when people say "Oh! Baier! Walther edited him!"

Justification/Atonement - Fourth Part of the Blasphemy Essay

Bishop Martin Stephan's pimp, CFW Walther, began forging the dogmatics leg irons of Missouri with his edition of Wilhelm Baier, a 17th century Pietist dogmatician at Halle University. Baier is now largely forgotten, or ignored, or forgotten-yet-praised because he was blessed by the Great Walther Himself and Francis Pieper Himself.

Halle's Pietism soon turned into rationalism, the branch now highly praised by ELCA Biblical scholars and CPH (see the elaborate pratfall of their two volume Gospel of Mark commentary).

Nobody ever says, "Oh! Rambach!" - except Jay Webber rose to support this Halle Pietist on 1 Timothy 3:16. See Steadfast (sic) Lutherans.

The Halle gang is protected by the Pietistic and the Rationalistic strands of Lutheran apostasy and blasphemy. Just to be polite - the doctrinal foundation of Walther and Pieper was not the Lutheran Reformation but the Halle Deformation. That is why Jay Webber so gleefully embraces the Pietist Quistorp to prop up his Objective Justification errors. And yes, Walther also liked and quoted Quistorp.

1Johann Quistorp; quoted in C. F. W. Walther, Justification: Subjective and Objective (translated by Kurt E. Marquart) (Fort Wayne, Indiana: Concordia Theological Seminary Press, 1982), p. 21. 3. Cited by Jay Webber.

Lutheran dogmatics are best summarized by their reactions against the constant yowling pack of Calvinists, who were always trying to pick apart Luther, Melanchthon, Chemnitz, and Gerhard (not to be confused with the hymn writer Gerhardt).

Many are waiting for a retraction from David Scaer. The peacock is a symbol used by Luther - the strutting know it all who makes a lot of noise because its feet (foundation) are so ugly.

Just to be concise and not turn into another batch of verbose dogmatics experts, faithful Lutherans can summarize the error of the Objective Justification fanatics as merging Justification by Faith with the Atonement.

Traditional Lutherans believe in Justification by Faith because they have not been brain-damaged by repeat-after-me graduates and professors of Mordor, Ft. Wayne, St. Louis, and the Little Schoolhouse on the Prairie. The OJ cancer is deeply troubled by the Chief Article, because faith is necessarily individual, not universal.

The ELS is in denial about their favorite dogma being pure hogwash. The Halle DNA mixed with Calvinist Enthusiasm created an eternal truth - the residents in Hell (Hitler, Stalin, Mao) are guilt-free saints.

Heirs of Knapp-Woods confused people into thinking that the entire world was absolved of all sin - that believing this nonsense was Subjective Justification - two justifications without faith! Walther taught making a decision for Objective Justification was just perfect.

The poorly educated leaders of the synods think they can paste sticky notes all through the Bible - OJ and SJ. "For God so loved the world (OJ!) that He gave His only Son (OJ again!) so that whosoever believed (SJ!) in Him might not perish (OJ!) but have everlasting life."

The man who covered up his bishop's syphilitic adultery until the right time to stage a riot and steal gold, land, and books - that Pietist embraced the Objective Justification taught by Martin Stephan, STD.

Their idea of salvation is exactly the same, with a minor concession from LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC side - an individual must make a decision, agreeing that everyone is already forgiven and saved without faith.

Is everyone clear on this? The president of WELS' shrinking seminary was an expert on Church Growth and grace without the Means of Grace.

ELCA has reached the obvious conclusion of apostasy - grace means everyone is forgiven and saved, without faith. They say, twisting Romans 4, that it is either grace or faith, and faith is Law.

The whole stack of Lutheran leaders has united around Thrivent loot and quasi-Unitarian dogma - social activism as necessary, faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God, not.

"Our work is done. Pacification is complete. All accept the forgiveness of salvation of all people. Our members are fewer but the dogma is pure.

God Is Punishing the LCMS with the McCain-Harrison Administration

Nils A. Dahl studied under Bultmann and disagreed with his professor. Dahl was considered the finest New Testament exegete in the world, so I was honored to study under him for the S.T.M. at Yale University. I took the Gospel of Mark in Greek and NT Christology from him.

David Becker reviewed the reviews of LCMS professors - the Hamman biography of Rudolph Bultmann, the "great" demythologizer.

Dahl pointed out that Bultmann rose to prominence because the other German scholars died young - he lived to the age of 92. His famous works were derived from the work of others. He was lionized for being a rationalist, and his American fan club promoted his ideas without ceasing.

Becker seems surprised that LCMS professors love Bultmann and urge students and pastors to read this expensive biography - $60, though not as overpriced as CPH mythology books. "Rudolf Bultmann: A Biography, by Konrad Hammann. 657 pages. Polebridge Press. January 16, 2013. List price $60.00, Amazon price $50.06, Amazon Kindle $9.95."

McCain-Harrison made the seminary debacle possible, and Christian News enabled the McCain-Harrison miracles of deception. More importantly, Christian News played a major role in the character assassination of Dr. Walter A. Maier II - who dared teach Justification by Faith. Scaer - a long-time friend of Otten - revealed his jealousy and vindictiveness against WAM II in his bizarre autobiography.

Objective Justification and Bultmann - Two Forms of Rationalism

God is punishing the LCMS with leaders and professors who sneak into the sheepfold to scatter, rend, and murder. They systematically replaced the Reformation's Justification by Faith with the rationalism of Halle University Pietism. They claimed to hang onto Biblical inerrancy (wink ;) while denying the clear, plain teaching of the Bible.

Where does Objective Justification come from - the main source? - Answer - Halle University.

Where do most of the early rationalistic, demythologizing Biblical scholars come from? Answer - Halle University.

I knew the scholars' names from various classes, such as New Testament Christology (Dahl) and background research. When I recently reviewed the history of Halle, I was astounded at the number of pioneer "scholars" who came from there, whose names continue to dominate the history of modern Biblical scholarship.

Dahl brought Malherbe to Yale, and I took his class in Thessalonians, in Greek. Dahl, Malherbe, and Wison emphasized the text in the original languages, not the dreamy theories of the celebrity scholars.

Robert Wilson spent a semester on Genesis in Hebrew. He not only rejected the claims of world religion scholars, but smashed them to bits. He let a student answer whether JEDP was a legitimate theory. "What do we do when the facts do not match the theory?" Meek voice - "Dismiss it?"

Today's Lutheran leaders do not comprehend Genesis 15:6.

Why Do People Resist the Notion That Walther and Pieper Were Calvinistic?

John Sparky Brenner called Justification by Faith "individual appropriation of forgiveness," the most awkward circumlocution since "picking flowers in the woods."
Walther learned his OJ from Stephan, who studied at Halle University.

Walther started the predestination/election conflict on his own to back up his UOJ. If justification is without faith, so must election be, he reasoned falsely.

John Sparky Brenner said it went with or backed up OJ. Download below.

I know Walther argued people into it saying that we could not include faith or that would make election a work of man, just CFW's attitude about justification. This put Walther even more in the Calvinist camp. Ask Lito Cruz, who has personal experience with this.

Walther (and Bishop Stephan) are portrayed as true Confessional Lutherans, repristination and all that. But Walther grew up in a rationalist pastor's parsonage and attended Pietist cell groups with one guru and then (when that guru died) with Martin Stephan. Stephan was in a Pietistic church where the land was donated by Zinzendorf (Pietism alarm). Stephan's church had government permission to have cell groups at the church. Otherwise they were illegal.

Calling Stephan and Walther true blue Lutherans is a stretch.

Pietism is anti-Means of Grace, so Walther's background fashioned him toward Calvinistic thinking, and Germany was/is very much committed to Lutheran-Calvinist thinking, with the emphasis on Reformed.

F. Pieper was Wisconsin Synod, founded by Pietistic Lutheran-Calvinist unionists. Several early leaders moved them away from that, but it was gradual.

I had a church which had been the Calvinist wing of the WELS/Calvinist congregation in New Ulm. A new pastor came to St. Paul's and said, "I thought we settled the Calvinist issue already." The Calvinists packed up and formed a new church a block away. Later the CLC (sic) bought it and the Calvinists turned UCC moved downtown.

That is physical proof of the WELS early years of Calvinist accommodations.

Pietism leads quickly to rationalism, and then to radical social activism, as proven by the Pietist origins and radical boasting of ELCA.

Some Areas To Study for Those Who Do Not Know the Influence of Halle Pietism on American Lutherans

Spener inspired the creation of Halle University, a Biblical Pietism that rejected the Confessions and clearly borrowed from Calvinism. A link to even more about Pietism can be found here.
As a student, Muhlenberg came under the influence of the Pietist movement through fellow students from Einbeck who had worked at the Francke Foundations in Halle (Saale), an important Pietist institution. With two other men, Muhlenberg started a charity school in Göttingen that eventually became an orphanage.[1]

  1. Bishop Martin Stephan, the founder of the LCMS,
  2. Muhlenberg, the founder of the LCA, and
  3. Adolph Hoenecke, the dogmatician of WELS

The University of Halle (Universität Halle) was founded in 1694 by Frederick III, Elector of Brandenburg, who became Frederick I, King in Prussia, in 1701.
In the late 17th century and early 18th century, Halle became a centre for Pietism within Prussia.

Leucorea Foundation, Wittenberg.

University of Halle in 1836.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, the universities were centers of the German Enlightenment. Christian Wolff was an important proponent of rationalism. He influenced many German scholars, such as Immanuel Kant. Christian Thomasius was at the same time the first philosopher in Germany to hold his lectures not in Latin, but German. He contributed to a rational programme in philosophy but also tried to establish a more common-sense point of view, which was aimed against the unquestioned superiority of aristocracy and theology.
The institutionalisation of the local language (German) as the language of instruction, the prioritisation of rationalism over religious orthodoxy, new modes of teaching, and the ceding of control over their work to the professors themselves, were among various innovations which characterised the University of Halle, and have led to its being referred to as the first "modern" university, whose liberalism was adopted by the University of Göttingen about a generation later, and subsequently by other German and then most North American universities.[3]

Biblical criticism began as an aspect of the rise of modern culture in the West. Some scholars claim that its roots reach back to the Reformation, but most agree it grew out of the German Enlightenment. German pietismplayed a role in its development, as did British deism, with its greatest influences being rationalism and Protestant scholarship. The Enlightenment age and its skepticism of biblical and ecclesiastical authority ignited questions concerning the historical basis for the man Jesus separately from traditional theological views concerning him. This "quest" for the Jesus of history began in biblical criticism's earliest stages, reappeared in the nineteenth century, and again in the twentieth, remaining a major occupation of biblical criticism, on and off, for over 200 years.

Born in Breslau in the Prussian Silesia as the grandson of Daniel Schleiermacher, a pastor at one time associated with the Zionites,[12][13] and the son of Gottlieb Schleiermacher, a Reformed Church chaplain in the Prussian army, Schleiermacher started his formal education in a Moravian school at Niesky in Upper Lusatia, and at Barby near Magdeburg. However, pietistic Moravian theology failed to satisfy his increasing doubts, and his father reluctantly gave him permission to enter the University of Halle, which had already abandoned pietism and adopted the rationalist spirit of Christian Wolff and Johann Salomo Semler.

Schleiermacher's Professorship[edit]

In 1804, Schleiermacher moved as university preacher and professor of theology to the University of Halle, where he remained until 1807, quickly obtaining a reputation as professor and preacher; he exercised a powerful influence in spite of contradictory charges which accused him of atheism, Spinozism and pietism. In this period, he began his lectures on hermeneutics (1805–1833) and he also wrote his dialogue the Weihnachtsfeier (Christmas Eve: Dialogue on the Incarnation, 1806), which represents a midway point between his Speeches and his great dogmatic work, Der christliche Glaube (The Christian Faith); the speeches represent phases of his growing appreciation of Christianity as well as the conflicting elements of the theology of the period. After the Battle of Jena he returned to Berlin (1807), was soon appointed pastor of the Trinity Church, and on May 18, 1809 he married Henriette von Willich (née von Mühlenfels) (1788–1840), the widow of his friend Johann Ehrenfried Theodor von Willich (1777–1807).
At the foundation of the University of Berlin (1810), in which he took a prominent part, Schleiermacher obtained a theological chair, and soon became secretary to the Prussian Academy of Sciences. He took a prominent part in the reorganization of the Prussian church, and became the most powerful advocate of the union of the Lutheran and Reformed divisions of German Protestantism, paving the way for the Prussian Union of Churches (1817).

Rambach was born in Halle and a true Pietist. "In 1723 he was appointed adjunct of the Theological Faculty at Halle, as also inspector of the Orphanage; in 1726 extraordinary professor of theology; and in 1727, after A. H. Francke's death, ordinary professor as well as preacher at the Schulkirche." Hymnary.org

Biblical Criticism - Halle Professors on the List

The Higher Critics: An Annotated Chronology, 1710-1917

Ray Dyer, PhD

1710. Halle, Germany. A Bible group begins distribution of low-cost Bibles to the poor (1804). University of Halle founded as Lutheran foundation 1694, “the first modern university”. Had renounced religious orthodoxy in favour of objective-rational science and investigation. Canonical texts were replaced by systematic lectures, and German replaced Latin as language of instruction.

1752. Semler (1775) becomes Professor of Theology at Halle (1710).

1776. Johan Jakob Griesbach (1745-1812), Professor first at Halle and then at Jena 1775, was first to challenge “Received Text” of Gospels (1831 Lachmann). He coined the term “synoptic” for the first three gospels. Epochal textual critic. Synopsis of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, 1774-76. The “Griesbach hypothesis,” gave priority to Matthew, was accepted by Strauss, Baur, and many other scholars through early Victorian years (1832). Cf. “Marcan hypothesis” (1831 ibid) (1838 1850). QHJ: Chap. X.

Scheiermacher taught Objective Justification alone - he was a Universalist.

1799. Friedrich Schleirmacher (1768-1834). the “Father of Modern Theology,” emphasized historical examination of the origins of Christianity. He taught at Halle until 1806 during the Napoleonic Wars, at which point the liberal torch passed to Gottingen. He held the position of Professor of Theology at Berlin from 1810. He addressed Speeches on Religion to its “cultured despisers”. He was the first to lecture on “The Life of Jesus” beginning in 1819 . He employed rational methods in the service of theological aims (sic).
August Tholuck - He is quoted as avocating Universalism.

1837. August Tholuck (1799-1877), Professor of Theology at Halle (1826-77), was an exponent of "mediating theology" and an early critic of Strauss, appealing to Animal Magnetism as mediating means to preserving belief in supernaturalism and miracles, as would Hase by 1876 and perhaps Nippold later. GJ - Tholuck was Adolph Hoenecke's mentor at Halle.

1857. C.K.J. "Chevalier" Bunsen (1791-1860) employed the Universal History of Egypt. Part V as his basis for challenging the "short chronology" of the Bible (Bibelwerke fur die Gemeinde (Bible Works for the Municipality), Vol. IX, Das Leben Jesu (The Life of Jesus), edited by the authoritative H. J. Holtzmann.

1884. Friedrich Emil Kautzsch (1841-1910) was Lecturer at Leipzig from 1869 and from 1872 Professor of Theology at Basle, where he knew Nietzsche. He also taught at Tubingen from 1880 and Halle from 1888. Kautzsch was a textual and linguistic specialist in Grammars of Biblical Aramaic. Grammatik des Biblisch-Aramaisch. He was a founder member of the German Society for Exploration of Palestine, and editor of Theologische Studien und Kritiker, 1888- . Cf. Dalman.

1885. Willibald J.H. Beyschlag (1823-1900), Professor of New Testament Exegesis at Halle from 1860m was the liberal-Protestant author of Das Leben Jesu (The Life of Jesus), 2 vols. (1885-86). The excellently arranged preliminary study and scholarly apparatus of the first volume is then followed by a disencumbered life in the second. Beyschlag insists on merging the Synoptics and John, and on retaining the eschatology with the spiritual, against Volkmar. Many inconsistencies are thereby noted by Schweitzer. Beyschlag attempts to resolve the problems by postulating three stages in the development of Jesus: (1) Preacher of a future and supernatural Kingdom. (2) Growing belief that the Kingdom was then presenting itself, as seen in the changes brought about in the people who flocked to Him in the middle part of the Public Life. (3) As failure began to mark the scene, thought shifted to "beyond the grave" and a "glorious return" (QHJ: 215-16).

1892. M. Kahler (1835-1912), Professor of Theology at Halle from 1862, who opposed liberal life of Jesus studies, was a proponent of the "Faith versus History" debate. In The So-Called Historical Jesus and the Historical Biblical Christ (2nd ed. 1896; English translation 1964 he argued that Christianity was only interested in the latter - "The real Christ is the preached Christ" - foreshadowing the theology of Karl Barth and R. Bultmann in the 1920s, and modern studies of the Apostle Paul, the Kerygmatic Christ, and the beginning of a "New Quest".

Let's Not Forget the Halle Professor Who Inspired the OJ/SJ Explanation by His Calvinist Translator

Some consider Barth the ultimate non-confessional Pietist, though he claimed to loathe Pietism.
