Delusional Dullards at LutherQ - No Wonder the Synodicals Are Melting Faster Than a July Frost

 

This WELS history of loving Church Growth is matched by the LCMS, ELCA, and the ELS. Notice how none of the brave souls on LutherQuest (sic) can offer any ideas, research, or regrets.

I prepared a paper for a recent pastoral conference [LCR] entitled “Catechetical helps against the spirit of antichrist.”

The paper holds out an approach to correct the six chief false doctrines used to create a power base in both Roman Catholicism and in churches which teach Soul Competency. (Baptist, Mennonite, Assemblies of God, virtually any church that is PC or lax in practice of the office of the keys.)

The best comment came from a formwer (sic) WELS pastor who noted that the WELS committee which created CGM overtly researched and copied Baptist methods. If this is so, then WELS intentionally sought out the spirit of antichrist, and infected their local churches. The pastor who made the comment had sold the book by jackson (Gregory L. Jackson?) in which he broke the story that CGM in WELS is really Baptist.

Has anyone heard of such a book?

If not do you have citable evidence that CGM is Baptist in origin?

The Disciples of Christ are among those groups that teach soul competency (My Church and Others, Mueller, 1968, p. 56ff).

I think I will have to get into the guts of how WELS implemented CGM, to see if the six principles that I attribute to soul competency are also present there in CGM as implemented in WELS and LC-MS. Does LC-MS have a position on CGM? Official or otherwise?

Does anyone have a resource for WELS and/or LC-MS implementation of CGM?

GJ - I would be glad to send a few books free to Jeffrey Young. The publication response of the Walther sects (LCMS-WELS-ELS-CLC) has been shock, denial, stink-eye, and extending the Left Boot of Fellowship. Now the Objective Faithless Justification savants are reaping the bitter fruit as they fulfill the warnings of John 15.

WELS published this with great opposition from the Church Growthers. Tolja, tolja, tolja. It sold faster than lutefisk at an ELS picnic, and WELS withdrew it.

Yesterday, I produced, directed, and starred in a 25-minute live streaming summary of Catholic, Lutheran, Protestant. The copy I displayed was the first edition, 1993, almost 30 years ago.

Northwestern Publishing House accepted CLP and put it on the printing schedule. Suddenly, they said in a letter that they would not print it until I changed my attitude. That book had to be published by me, and yet NPH heavily promoted it. Seminary professor Brug told seminarians it was a good book. I was already out of WELS at that point.

Earlier, NPH published Liberalism, Its Cause and Cure. WELS punished NPH for letting that loose, and it was deliberately delayed. When I gave the last chapter as a conference paper, Kovaciny threw the xeroxed Means of Grace chapter and carried on, but no more than Wally Oelhafen and Fred Adrian, the mission dopes. I needed a final chapter for the book, and those tantrums clinched the essay for that role. Liberalism had at least three NPH printings.

Here is a classic Oelhafen-Adrian blurted statement shouted to the conference pastors - "Just because we went to Fuller Seminary doesn't mean we agree with their doctrine." (Paraphrased) Later, Adrian was kicked out of the ministry for cause, and DP John Seifert welcomed him back in. Kovaciny went to Russia after losing an argument with a utility pole. 

I self-published Thy Strong Word, 2002, but switched to Lulu and Amazon after that. Print on demand seemed to be quite an advance at the time, a great way to save money and get books printed faster. 

Now an inexpensive web camera and the Internet will get a message across the world. Broadcasts do not replace the written or spoken word, but they provide another medium for weal or woe.

 Readers love the full color artwork inside the books. That used to cost a fortune.

The Bible Book Will Be My Next Big Project

I will post the Galatians adult study when Lent is over, so others have something for teaching Luther's Galatians. That will probably be a Lulu project, color, with a print version and a free PDF. 

The Bible Book has been changing names slowly. The current iteration (corporate for "version") is The Bible Book: The KJV Reborn for Those Who Love the Word of God. I am following the basic rule of the main title followed by a subtitle defining the title. As the NPH editor told me, "The subtitle sells the book."

When Liberalism came out at NPH, WELS made a concerted effort to get rid of me.
The late DP Robert Mueller admitted at our council meeting that I did my work and taught correctly. But he and Kuske and Floyd Luther Stolzenburg never stopped - two of them have passed on to their reward already. Wally O., too.

I may make the subtitle a wee bit shorter, but that is the main, positive message of the book. I am aiming at complete coverage, so I expect to reach 200 pages or more, all in color. OK, that is not complete, but it will be thorough coverage with a lot of sources used. I am having fun tracking down useful and relatively inexpensive books for people to use.

I AM Sermons

The next book will deal with the I AM sermons in the Gospel of John. That can serve as a kind of commentary on the Fourth Gospel but mostly as an emphasis on Jesus' sermons in John.

They censor the interesting news.

Future books will be Biblical topics rather than history of doctrine. The same is true of most posts on the blog. The "conservative" Lutheran synods are shameless clones of ELCA now, and impervious to correction. The clergy and laity of the LCMS-WELS-WELS-CLC are too docile and lazy to do anything more than go down with the ship.

The Concordia was wrecked on the shoals by a captain who vamoosed immediately.

The LCMS ran out of men. Strict discipline followed - the story was erased!

I wrote earlier about Liberalism: Its Cause and Cure. Readers have heard many times over that no one dare raise an issue unless it is face-to-face. But Valleskey and Bivens hated my work so much - not that they ever told me -  that they threatened an independent book publisher if he printed Angel Joy.
This printer and seller of books, including the Valleskey/Bivens book, said, "I have to feed my family. I cannot publish your book." He then repeatedly refused to give me back the photos for Angel Joy, even though he was the one who solicited me for books he could publish and sell.

The only public reference Valleskey made  to me was in his icky Church Growth promotional article in the Wisconsin Lutheran Quarterly. He argued that one could harvest figs from thistles, that Fuller dogma was like rich gold, silver, and jewels - good for the stealing. There he was suspiciously flattering, as the Apostle warned in 

Romans 16:18 

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

By the way, I challenged Valleskey's awful WLQ essay when he gave it, sought to talk to him about his study at Fuller Seminary - which he denied and later confirmed. I also sat next to Valleskey at supper, but another CG fanatic, now an avowed atheist, made sure I could not say anything.

I also talked to John (Sparky) Brenner about the false claims of the article. He said, "Write a letter." I said, rather heatedly, "Does the faculty support these falsehoods? Are there any editorial standards?" Brenner's wife looked at me like, "How dare you speak to my professor husband!"

In spite of the obstacles created by the WELS Church Growthers, the book came out eventually and sold like beer at a WELS convention.
