5. VP Don Patterson led a group of WELS workers to Exponential, but he is not Church and Change. Oh no. How could anyone say that? Except - they heard Babtist Ed Stetzer, slavered at his golden words, and hired him immediately to speak at this year's Church and Chicanery conference. C and C has not told the truth yet about this gig.

GJ - Someone opined that they were Tweeting false information so they could denounce the lies on Ichabod. I have had that attempted three different times. One was a report of a pastor's adultery and leaving the ministry (utterly false). Another was an ex-pastor from WELS being welcomed back (also false). A third example was more recent.

As of this date, I have no precise information on the conference, but there is this from Tim Glende's congregation:

When Glende went to the Drive 09 Babtist Worship Conference with Ski, Buske, Katy, and four other WELS pastors, the trip was announced in his St. Peter bulletin the same way - implying a WELS conference but not identifying the actual name or place of the Atlanta conference. So I have to assume it is a Schwaermer conference or a Church and Change gathering to plan their split.

This reminds me a little bit of what Luther said about what you get with a pilgrimage to Rome; a bad conscience, a ruined stomach and an empty purse. It is worse today. These pilgrims' consciences cannot be pricked. Their purses will not be emptied as they probably are not spending much of their own money.
