The Appleton Dumpling Gang:
Paul Kelm's Victory Lap or Schwan Song?

An Appleton resident reminded me that WELS is definitely not "walking together," even in that hotbed of unionistic Church Growthism. Several WELS churches would not do a pulpit exchange with Witte, Parlow, or Kelm. However, Witte was promoted to the Asian board, so he does not care.

Paul Kelm Victory Lap or Schwan Song?

Another resident says Kelm is giving a Bible study at The Core Lutheran Church. I looked over the schedule, which is pretty bare. The October Groeschel sermons are about "Me and..." - stereotypical CG. There is a Bible study listed - Fuel, the name of a book by Joe White, Focus on the Family. I wonder if that is the Kelm Bible study. I recall FOTF being praised in the Fischer paper.

If Kelm is selling old boilerplate in Oconomowoc, preaching at Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel, and teaching the Word in Appleton, he may be taking his victory lap before retiring. He is 65 in December. Or this may be his swan song - based on the myth that silent swans offer a beautiful song just before dying. Unfortunately, this songster never stopped singing the praises of Deformed doctrine.

Kelm is God's chastisement for WELS' apathy about sound doctrine.

Where is the stewardship in keeping CGM members on the payroll? Are they spreading the Word, or a lot of nonsense?

It is right to point out what is happening in Appleton.

Let us not, though forget the number of WELS and ELS (especially ELS in the Twin Cities area) congregations that are insidiously being fed this clap trap week after week by C & C pastors who are chicken to state that they are in fact C & C.

It's amazing to me that a church body (name your confessional lutheran body) - that has histoically been given to proclaiming the truth in its purity in Word and Sacrament, has fallen so far from it. With the CGM tactics being so well used and turning worship into a man-centered experience, it's embarassing to know that Calvanists pound Lutherans into the dirt on speaking out and refuting this crap. You should be ashamed you purveyors of CGM barf!

Check out R.C. Sproul on this link. He sounds more Lutheran than Lutherans in WELS, not to mention Reformed! Oh what goes around comes around.

It may prove to be easier to convince a Calvanist in the efficacy of the Means fo Grace than to convince a formerly confessional Lutheran who has bought into CGM that it is wrong.

True?
