I want to put the best construction on this White Elephant, but why is this glorious, do-anything-short-of-sin-to-reach-everyone mission NOT having a Thanksgiving service? Is it because, shorn of its cheerleaders from local WELS churches, The CORE would flop when competing mano-a-mano?

The CORE ranks right up there with Climategate when it comes to deception.
You are just another version of the CORE saying your way of doing church is the right way; emphasis is STILL on the method. You are just as guilty, ya putz.
That is EXACTLY the reason.
With his attendance base -- 90% WELS members at other Appleton churches -- occupied in worship at their home congregations, NO ONE would attend his Thanksgiving service.

Am a bit puzzled, at what Anonymous means ?:-
A) Either its just more proof of the inability of WELS Core-persons to spell.....(I mean, sure, I do recall they don't Mr. Ichabod posting photos of pussycats, but I ask you "putzy cats" ?!!
B) Of course, er, maybe the main emphasis is meant to be on the words "just as guilty" ?? ...(I mean, could be, this is the smallest beginning of that genuine sorrow for sin (the contrition part) of true repentance (the other part of which is faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sins)?
Hoping so, but not real confident.
Either way, anonymous, how about going back to school for spelling, and, secondly, dumping Dame Mother Reason.
May you be led to return to the Scriptures; using the Book of Concord as a guide for right thinking/understanding.
