Norman Teigen has left a new comment on your post "LCMS Board Minutes and Jeske":
Is it possible that you may be wrong about Pastor Jeske and that his television ministry could be considered a good thing?

GJ - There is always a first time, Norman, but not with this topic.
Jeske is the force behind WELS/ELS Church and Change, a combination of Reformed doctrine, unionism, and New Age philosophies.
Listen to his program and read his odious blogs. He promotes and supports Mark Driscoll. Is it a coincidence that Ski and Katie went with Glende for a Driscoll conference in Seattle? Ski and Katie were at St. Marcus before they spread the blight to A-Town.
Jeske is dishonest about his fellowship, which is worse than his unionism. However, one cannot separate the deception from the unionism in his group. They are unionists who lie about their unionism. In fact, they even lie about being members of the Chicanery mob.
Check out the denials by Kudu Don Patterson, Mark Paustian, and others.
Before that, they lied about going to Fuller Seminary and adoring Church Growth.
Jeske belongs with Quiche-nik. May they go down the road to ruin together.

My conservative friends in the LCMS denounce Kietschnic.(not sure of spelling) Mark Paustian is a better leader than those no-account C&Cers. "Prepared To Answer" is 180 degrees away from CG material. His statements concerning Leonard Sweet were a bit shakey and he was 'just lookin' at the C&C Conference. I, as well as others, have asked Paustian to take a stand against the C&C. Paustain needs brotherly advise. Jeske and Patterson are moving to the top of the mark-and-avoid list. Remember we are all sinners and fall short of the Glory of God.
I yield the rest of my comments to Michael Schottey.
In Christ,
from WELS church lady
There is every doctrinal reason to cut C&C lose from WELS. Yet, it has not happened due to the corruption and evil high up in the organization. Be careful you do not follow their satanic motivations.
Hmmm, a Teigen defending a C&C icon. Methinks Norman has come under the spell of a Jeske in-law.
I'm with Norm. I would trust the word of a Teigen over yours any day, Jacko.
Michael Leyrer (mjleyrer), you are a lurker. You will disagree so I'll copy the Dictionary.com definition result #6, "an easy, somewhat lazy or unethical way of earning a living, performing a task, etc."
You've previously admitted that you know little about theology, the study of Christian doctrine. Even a brief review of your comments on this blog show that your self description is true. Yet, you continue to post juvenile comments and critiques about things you neither have the maturity nor acquired skill to address directly but have lethargically fallen to making inane ad hominem statements.
Instead of giving Confessional WELSian's hope for the future laity you are confirming the very things you despise on this blog.
Norman,
You mention Pastor Jeske and 'his' television ministry.
Isn't Pastor Jeske's ministry to shepherd the flock that called him, and which call he accepted?
Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry. I am in need of instruction on many points and this may very well be one of them. What I do not know is immense.
For those who did not get the jab, my pastor is Pastor Jeske's brother-in-law. I listen to what my pastor says when he preaches from the pulpit but we both have enough respect for each other not to try to influence the other in things of which we are not very well informed.
I speak with my pastor and he speaks with me.
He is a humble person and would readily admit that there are some things that he doesn't know. I admit that there are many things that I don't know. I don't know everything about Pastor Jeske or the issues involved and I am grateful to any who can inform me, a poor simple layman.
I also know that the Word is an important part of Lutheran theology. Does some of the chatter on this topic possibly involve a denial of the efficacy of the Word? I leave it to wiser people than I to instruct and inform. I leave it to no one to tell me what to think.
I write from the perspective of one who remembers the old Synodical Conference. I think that the things that unite the old Synodical Conference members are greater than the things which divide us. I see the break-up of the old Synodical Conference as an unmitigated disaster of the first order and I hope for the old synods to walk together again.

The old synods will walk together again, in the warm glow of the Antichrist as they chase the unifying doctrines and practices of the New Age apostacy.
What color is the sky on the planet which you occupy, Mr. Meyer?
Had a brief discussion about this series of posts yesterday with my Pastor. We both had a good laugh about it. I wanted to print out the pertinent pages so that he could see for himself but I didn't want to run all 24 pages of GJ's post
Seriously, don't you think that the fuss-and-flapdoodle about Jeske means that the concept of the Efficacy of the Word is being ignored?
What about the question of 'his' ministry? That's easily answered, I think. We could say, for example, that the ministry at Mt. Olive in Mankato is 'Petersen's ministry' because he happens to be one of the pastors there. 'Time of Grace' is Jeske's ministry because he happens to be the guy who occupies the space in front of the camera. This doesn't make of Jeske an egomaniac, does it? Really!
One of my friends told me that Jeske was a little thin and could communicate more of the rich Lutheran tradition from which he comes. He said, nonetheless, that the Gospel was being broadcast to the world and this is, I might add, a very Biblical concept.
