Jeske is the dark force behind Church and Change.
Scott E. Jungen has left a new comment on your post "Junior Stormtrooper Lashes Out:The Uncle Fritz Def...":
Garrett,
I'm going to direct you to another blog, The Gadfly. It is hosted by Pastor Spencer, a WELS pastor in Arizona. He has written a section entitled, "A Dozen Don'ts and Dos for Orthodox Lutheran Pastors". I direct you to #3- "Don't assume any other Pastor is orthodox just because you roomed with him in prep or college, or he's married to your sister, or related in any way".
There are hard times ahead in the WELS. To think any other way is naive. It's not just you and your "uncle". I also face this challenge.
A month ago I went to the Church and Change website. Who's picture do I see as an officer? A guy with which I went to prep and college. I always thought he was a nice guy. But.... I don't believe in Church and Change and anything for which they stand. I have to come to terms that he might be a straying brother.
Twenty years ago I was a charter member of a WELS mission church. I consider the pastor a friend. Now he has removed the word Lutheran from its name. It is now a "stealth" church. Once again, this might get personal. Why? I recently happily threw my lot in with the people from Intrepid Lutherans. Might I have to confront friends and schoolmates on the opposite side of heated debate? Yes, and I pray for the strength to do it.
So Garrett, steel your yourself for the future. It could get ugly. As Luther wrote, "With might of ours can naught be done...".

Civil War in the WELS? The WELS is already in so much trouble that if WELS does fission into separate parts, it will be no more than a "large" micro sect...
What percent of the WELS would be allied with the Church and Change faction...10 percent? 20 percent?
Could the WELS simply purge the C & C ers and still survive?
Not to get off track, but how are recent WELS finances coming along...any bounce back from the 2008 debacle. Of course, the recent news looks like a double dip recession, so maybe large institutional offerings will be lacking for the foreseeable future.
How does the budget for MLS (prep) look for the coming year. How about MLC (college)...what is the situation at Mequon (Seminary)
Sorry for the disjoint queries...

I 'preciate all of your concerns and words of advice. All the more reason for me to enjoy the company of brothers in faith.
I'll repeat that am all too aware that 'something is rotten in the state of Denmark'. For example: The last three colleagues (coworkers, friends) that I intended to introduce to Christ were immediately repelled by those I had considered my closest friends. One WELSian family falsely cried out "sexual assault!", and I fear this man will never know Christ now...

God is still in control of the situation and I, for one, will let Him continue to work out these minute details.

Is that trusting God, or tempting God? Many times on council or in forums I have heard the same thing stated. Usually it is out of fear of getting involved that people say stuff like this. On the other hand, the same person usually is extremely proactive if any situation threatens or challenges their personal life. Just an observation.
