ELCA's Southern Seminary has long been in financial straits, and relies on a big ELCA synod subsidy to operate. To help itself out, it diversified and has Baptist and Methodist Studies departments, catering to the locals (Columbia, SC). Southern Seminary Faculty Members Release Columbia Declaration

Friends of Lutherans Concerned will be interested in taking a look at the Columbia Declaration, a website founded by some members of the faculty (past and present) of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. The declaration takes its name from the location of the seminary, which is in the city of Columbia, South Carolina.

With colleges closing now is a good time for confessional churches to get out from under WELS and start an enlightened synod.
