More Questions about The SORE

I find it very interesting that The SORE will have their offices on the SIXTH FLOOR of a deluxe 12 story building in Downtown Appleton.

Someone in business raised an eyebrow over The SORE moving out of its spiffy building and into an old, abandoned church.

"Only 18 months there? Leases for large buildings are multi-year, not 18 months."

I added that the move seemed sudden, to be completed in a few weeks.

We both asked out loud, "Did The SORE lose its lease and get thrown out?"

Ski's comments suggest an effort to cover up the real story - keeping the same website (!) and the same phone number (!) in a small town. That is the good part.

WELS members should demand a full accounting of the money blown on this "experiment." Hagedorn had a lavish retirement party at a luxury hotel, but he is not about to tell what he knows about The SORE's finances.

WELS follows the Roman Catholic model. Members should "pray, pay, and obey."

That would usually be the case when the building was built to be leased. This was not the case with The Big Picture. The theater was built for several million dollars and went belly up after about a year of operation. After that, it went into receivership and the financial institution that ended up owning it didn't want to own it. They were trying to sell it (I'm guessing they were trying to sell it at a fraction of its initial cost). I'm also guessing that the Core leased it with the option to buy it, if possible. Apparently, the church that bought it was able to raise the amount that the bank was looking for and the Core wasn't able to arrange that amount within the timeframe. I'm guessing that there's no scandal here. The Core was simply beaten to the punch by a better financed church.
