The Pietists always treat correct doctrine as one of those burdens they need to throw off their aching backs, and they gladly do so. They emphasize unity and their style of love - which is hatred of sound doctrine.
Doctrine simply means teaching, so the Bible is not a dusty guidebook for the curious but the very Word of God. If someone believes in the efficacy of the Word, which is taught throughout the Scriptures, the collapse of the visible church is the logical outcome of man's preference for the doctrine of demons.
I focus on WELS, but I group WELS with Missouri, the Little Sect, and ELCA. They are flavors of Pietism. ELCA is the logical outcome of everything the others are doing right now, as indicated by their marital relationship through Thrivent and Lutheran World Relief. But remember, folks, I am the bad guy for pointing out the obvious.
Synods favor Pietism because they would rather market their false unity instead of dealing openly with disputed points of doctrine. Likewise, the groups that form feel the same way. The Intrepids retreated in 24 hours and Rydecki became the Professor of UOJ in a flash, the equivalent of Paul Calvin Kelm publicly repudiating Willow Creek, Fuller Seminary, and Management by Objective. Outward unity is more important than doctrinal integrity, especially with The Guilt Factory's AK-47 aimed at one's back.
Readers interested who holds office - please note - the one thing the apostates want is to get the faithful involved in the political process instead of arguing doctrine. Satan has never lost a political battle or won a doctrinal war.

The evil doctrine of UOJ works well with an abusive cult like WELS. The St. Peter, Freedom letter reveals that the bullying and threats work at a congregational, circuit, and district level. SP Schroeder's do-nothing attitude means it has national approval as well. No one dares touch Professor Brug's wayward nephew or Mark Jeske's groupie (Ski).
