Dear Dr. Jackson,
It's not a matter of "waking up" for ELS & WELS. It's a matter of rising from the dead! The vast majority of their Pastors are completely dead in both the head and heart. They have no brains anymore to see the heresy in their synods, and even if they did they have no heart - no guts - to attack it.
A few - very few - are fighting, but even they do not understand that the battle to turn their synods from heresy is already over and already lost. They still hold out hope for a return to confessionalism. Sorry, such is not possible as long as the District officers and headquarters administrator and seminary professors are all mind-numbed cowards who only want to get paid for no work and keep that up until they can retire out here to sunny S. CA. WELS and ELS are not asleep, they are dead. And only God can wake the dead! Or so I see it. I'm just -
