GJ - WELS members may not watch this or sing along. CLC (sic) members may, as long as they deny they were watching it. They can say, for example, "I just wanted to find out what Satan was up to."
ELS members may hum along, because their canon lawyers have determined that humming is not the same as singing.
A WELS Conference of Presidents resolution to do nothing about non-WELS singers in Wisconsin Lutheran College's choirs:
WHEREAS 5) church membership is a confession of faith (cf. This We Believe, 1999, p. 28-29, VII, 5,6), therefore be it RESOLVED a) that we encourage our school to examine carefully their polices and practices with regard to participation by non-WELS students in touring sacred musical groups, and be it further RESOLVED b) that these policies convey and apply the Biblical doctrine of Church fellowship and its proper practice in regard to this issue, and be it finally RESOLVED c) that we encourage our schools to inform parents and students of this policy and practice before enrollment.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but a large part of the problem is the phrase "our school". WLC is not "our school". Therefore, they can ignore the COP just like everybody else.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That we are adamant in our obstinate and unshakable determination not to render a decisive decision on this subject which we so thoroughly beat like a dead horse with our winsome words, super slippery speech and deft handling of God's Word, which we honor as being supremely clear in all areas that are not gray or grayish.

"Well, it could be understood that way.... Why don't you write me a letter?"
