Creating New Dogmas By Putting Words in God's Mouth

Brett Meyer has left a new comment on your post "The Owner of Your Yummy New Translation, WELS, Is ...":

The UOJists put words in God's mouth when they teach their two justifications. The (W)ELS will dictate when God was speaking subjectively and when he was speaking objectively, in a narrower sense and in a wider sense. All in an attempt to establish their own righteousness and forgiveness of sins before, and now clearly, without the Holy Spirit's faith. Christ on the other hand is supremely clear and concise with His Word.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

The Lutheran Synods have made a mockery of Christ's doctrine of Justification and have murdered the souls of many who now cling to their new gospel promise that they were justified, forgiven of all sin and declared righteous by God before faith - in fact, it is this declaration that the (W)ELS, ELS, CLC, ELCA and LCMS teach is the only thing that can create their faith.

In the words of the WELS Our Great Heritage, "And yet many Lutherans still labor under the delusion that God does not forgive us unless we believe. Instead of seeing faith as nothing more than the spiritual hand with which we make the forgiveness of God our own, they see it as a reason why God forgives us. They believe that Christ has indeed provided forgiveness for all men, that God is willing to forgive them, but before he really forgives he first of all demands that we should be sorry for our sins and that we should have faith. Just have faith they say, and then God will forgive you. All the right words are there. The only thing wrong is that the words are in the wrong order. God does not forgive us IF we have faith. He has forgiven us long ago when he raised his Son from the dead." (p. 59)

"If forgiveness were dependent on faith in the sense that God does not forgive until we believe, we would always have to be sure that we are believers before we would be sure that we are forgiven." (p.60)

And from DP Jon Buchholz' 2005 UOJ Conference paper, "God has forgiven the whole world. God has forgiven everyone his sins." This statement is absolutely true!"

"God has declared the entire world righteous." This statement is true, as we understand it to mean that God has rendered a verdict of "not-guilty" toward the entire world."
