Mark and Avoid Jeske Memorial
Explores the Outer Limits of Irony

Two memorials were proposed about Mark and Avoid Jeske. The discussion today ended with DP Buchholz supporting Jeske, the anonymous leader of Church and Change. Buchholz is supposedly the only DP in favor of reform.

My favorite moment arrived when DP Rutschow (on the far left of the bus) played the role of aggrieved Doctrinal Pussycat. He admitted, with some emotion, that his coven already approved of Jeske in this matter, cautioning everyone that the convention was no place to discuss doctrine.

DP Rutschow got rid of the mother church of WELS and its pastor--Hastings, Historic St. John in Milwaukee--over a minor incident that was quickly resolved with apologies made and damages paid. Rutschow went for scorched-earth revenge, and everyone lost out.

But when Mark Jeske is involved, and his false doctrine is well known, the motto is "Touch not the Lord's anointed!" - which applies to Jeske, the DP, all DPs, all officials, etc. etc.

I believe it was a delegate who cited the Eighth Commandment and the Fourth Commandment. Innocent readers, you need to know that Jeske's published false doctrine is beyond reproach. But even more importantly, it is a Fourth Commandment sin to question the Doctrinal Pussycats. God put them there, through electioneering and even with some fraudulent voting, but God works in a mysterious way His wonders to perform. To question the WELS officials is to question God.

The First Table is missing from the WELS Ten Commandments. So is the Sixth Commandment. Just remember the Fourth and Eighth. If there any questions, ask your CP or DP, but not in a way that will cause them to excommunicate you.

Everyone dodged the issues by talking vaguely about RSO status in the LCMS. The two sects are already engaged in a non-geographical merger with ELCA and the Little Sect on the Prairie.

A cat inside a fish! Ironic!

More irony from the WELS convention:
  1. The WELS convention addresses RSO status with another Lutheran group while ignoring that Jeske is the leader (with District VP Patterson) in studying/worshiping with all the worst false teachers in America.
  2. The intellectual leaders of WELS, whose IQs may reach three digits, argue for the NNIV, while trying to claim they care about the Word of God.
  3. Every issue should be discussed, but not at the convention. That should be done with the Doctrinal Pussycat and kept a secret.
  4. Christian Life Resources, after jettisoning the name WELS Lutherans for Life, because they broke with Missouri, needed some kind of resolution to preserve their family values PR spin, even though the pastoral director divorced his wife and married his sexretary.
  5. The WELS Militant did not officially reject the NNIV but only dithered about approving it at this point in time.
  6. Failing to confess the truth of the Gospel or to repudiate error, WELS congratulates itself on being "confessional" while routinely trashing the Book of Concord in favor of their Wauwatosa shrine.

Brett Meyer has left a new comment on your post "Mark and Avoid Jeske Memorial Explores the Outer L...":

Buchholz didn't rebuke Jeske for his false doctrine and practice? Do tell. Ineffective? Say no more.

DP Buchholz' 2005 UOJ essay promoting the false and abundantly contradictory gospel of Universal salvation was supremely effective.

In a world where teens are always looked at by the eyes of the Devil a WELS youth rally is a blessing it shows that even in this world where sin is everywhere there teens that still believe that we can help show to other people that Jesus saved all and that the Father loves all of his children.
