Why Evangelize a Forgiven, Absolved, Saved World?

AC V has left a new comment on your post "Brett Meyer Reveals Why the Commissars Love, Love,...":

Rev. Charles Westra of the Board for Home Missions just said at the WELS convention: "when Christ died on the cross he declared the world 'not guilty' of sin."

My question to you Rev. Westra: Why do mission work, if the world has been declared 'not guilty."

UOJ is indeed foundational to WELS philosophy of ministry.

The WELS response is: We do mission work to tell the people who don't know they are not guilty that they are in fact not guilty and don't have to work themselves to heaven. If someone does not know they are not guilty, they are rejecting their not guilty status and their disbelief will send them to hell. Only unbelief damns, not actual sin. This is the official party line.

UOJ has something in common with the rapture:

"The rapture is a recent invention. Nobody had thought of what is now known as the rapture until about 1850," says Borg, canon theologian at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon.

For the sake of argument So unbelief is not actual sin? WELS, chapter and verse, please.

You know, that makes sense...except IT'S NOT IN THE BIBLE or THE LUTHERAN CONFESSIONS!

Wait a minute...

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE EITHER!

Daniel points to another heinous teaching of UOJ - that only unbelief damns.

Why? because UOJ teaches that God forgave every sin when He imputed Christ's righteousness to the whole unbelieving world.

Question: So Christ's atonement didn't pay for the sin of unbelief? Christ's perfect life and sacrificial death was insufficient to pay for this sin?

UOJ answer: Unbelief is the unforgivable sin. It's a sin Christ didn't pay for because it's unforgiveable, can't be forgiven, won't be forgiven by God.

Statement: But we were all born with the sin of not believing in Christ. Christ even declares that if we do not abide in unbelief God will graft us into Christ.
Romans 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

So: Unbelief is not the unforgivable sin as UOJ and the Lutheran synods falsely teach. So then UOJ is Universalism since God imputed Christ's righteousness to the whole world, forgiving every forgivable sin - everyone is saved.

Result: UOJists rejoice that the whole world is saved without faith in Christ and no longer have to hide this fact. Christians, however, will continue to teach Justification by faith in Christ alone to the exclusion of the false and damning gospel of UOJ and take their lumps, to the loss of life, by the grace of God.

Everyone thought that Schroeder and Buchholz refused to excommunicate those who held to a different Gospel (JBFA) than their false gospel of UOJ and that Patterson was a bully for doing so. It should be clear to everyone now that they simply continue to be impotent, fence-sitters who are token conservatives that satisfy the need of some laity and clergy who expect nothing more than lip service to Christ but are in fact enablers of apostasy. Schroeder's Emmaus conference essay and Buchholz's 2005 UOJ essay are sufficient evidence and proof of that.

The Lutheran Synods worship themselves and each other to the exclusion of Christ, God the Father, the Holy Ghost and His Word.

The pure Word is being extinguished in the Lutheran Synods.
