No "Katie My Rib" Here.

The solution - a compromise.
Everybody happy.

AC V has left a new comment on your post "Father Hollywood: Girls Gone Wild, WELS Edition. S...":

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.

Watch how Ms. Wendland walks around with Bible in hand just like the TV preachers:

John Brug approved the ordination of women many years ago.

At 1:28:38 in the video Wendland says, "There are a number of Greek words used for 'leadership' in Scripture. When that word - specific leadership in Scripture - it always includes being entrusted with authority and responsibility. And it is always God who gives this authority."

According to WELS a woman is not to have authority, then what in the name of all that is good did the organizers of this conference think they were trying to get away with by saying this was a "Women's Leadership (i.e. authority) Conference?"

Listen to how she goes on to explains that leadership can also mean "encourager" and that's how women can be leaders!

Authority? Yeah, but, we like to think of it as "encouragement."

She can hold the office of national coordinator of nearly 400 early childhood ministries in WELS, but she can't cast a vote in her local WELS congregation:

HOLMAN SET TO SERVE EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRIES

Notice the two infinitives do not include "to vote."

They are NOT "to teach" men and "to usurp authority" over men.

It is a big mistake distorting the argument to voting, because everyone gets around it.
