Only Three or Four Money Grubbing Events at St. Peter Freedom - WELS - This Week

---

Let me count the ways:

  • Selling old paper to fund the school.
  • Selling hats to promote the stinky old bar, which WELS bought for them.
  • SCRIP is a way to promote businesses - and fund the church and school.
  • Golf and baseball. Hedonist evangelism for belly bursters.
  • Must be out of chocolate and pizza. Stay tuned, CORE fans.

rlschultz has left a new comment on your post "Only Three or Four Money Grubbing Events at St. Pe...":

Money grubbing events are small potatoes compared to capital appeal drives. This is no defense of these activities. Most of them are nothing more than frivolous chores. The members actually do see some visible benefits to their labor. It also gives them a sense of ownership. The capital appeal drives are particularly brutal. Members are asked to open up their wallets even when there is nothing in there. The money grubbing events rely upon voluntary, unpaid labor. The capital appeal drives pay an outsider, a consultant, to tell them how to fleece the members. This is truly disgusting.
