Mark Zarling, the president of Martin Luther College, author of the UOJ essay plagiarized by Frosty Bivens, has a call to be an associate pastor. College meltdown?

Aaron Frey, former president and ethics advisor at Michigan Lutheran Seminary, has a call, at long last. Given the fruit of Martin Luther College's work, Aaron was old school - at least by WELS standards.

Michael Smith, ELS, son of Kincaid Smith, ELS, has a call to the Asian portable mini-seminary, joining such luminaries as Steve Witte, a founder of Church and Change, Doebler - who promoted petting live bunnies for Easter Sunday (an ad tragically misunderstood by Texans), and John Lawrenz, who published the argument he almost won against the Holy Spirit.

To be fair, Smith is just as prepared as his fellow Enthusiasts at the Asian sem. He has a "PhD" from Trinity Online Degree Mill in Newburgh, Indiana. That is probably better than Jay Webber's online STM from an ELCA group, or not. Jay's server is being accredited. Smith's server is unaccredited.

 Thrivent Salesmen and Divinely Called Giving Counselors
listened to the Wolf of Wall Street for inspiration.

Pastor Jonathan Stern was a "Christian Giving Counselor," a job where the pastor or layman has a "divine call" to sell annuities, for which he must be licensed in insurance. Would that make him a Thrivent employee? Probably. Many of these annuity salesmen go into business for themselves later. One counselor talked a dying woman into an irrevocable trust (to WELS, of course) annuity, which spirited her money out of her estate just before she died. I am sure the Holy Spirit called him for that anointed purpose.

Stern now has a legitimate call.

As readers can see, the original ship's masthead was rather sparse. Most of us think of "the crow's nest" but Herman Melville spent his time in the masthead, where he daydreamed instead of spotting whales. Masthead became the name for a newspaper's or a periodical's title page, aka the flag, so that makes some sense, with the flag posted on the masthead of a ship.

I began by adding the Thanksgiving Eve service, with plans to include The Lutheran Library Publishing Ministry.

I noticed that the free Martin Chemnitz Press PDFs were jinxed by a security change in DropBox, so I will have to deal with that later. They do not work now as links but the PDFs are still in DropBox, a neat place to store and link very large files.

The reason for the laborious repetition of links is clear to those who engage in Search Engine Optimization. When people click on the links to check them out, the search engines say collectively, "Oh, this is a page people want to read, so we will raise it in the search results." That robotic response means more people will find the links when they simply search for a topic.

 How can they suspend a group of Green Bay Packers fans?

Someone reported me for spelling Dorn's last name wrong. I have corrected that error.

Here is the Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Killeen webpage, one of the most annoying I have seen in a long time. Did they get suspended for that glowing Texaco star floating weird menu? I hope so.
