Two WELS Pastors and Four Meritless Lawsuits | Light from Light.
Not Mentioned about Glende the Star of Bethlehem Killer
Glende Complained to the Judge about a Blog in Arkansas. Judge: "What?"

Ski, Glende, and Katy went to every false teacher's conference, from gay activist Andy Stanley's to Dirt. The CORE copied Groeschel verbatim and used all his gimmicks and graphics too - with permission and huzzahs from the DP. The lawyer who objected to all this plagiarism? - he became Anathema Sit.

Glende had to have a new church building with a big debt and a coffee bar for Bethlehem.
The Babtists got a great deal, like the Orthodox at the old Bethlehem location, and BOTH parishes are thriving in his absence. Why isn't Glende head of WELS Missions?

The Babtists believe in Justification by Faith.
The WELS grandees hate it. This took place at Glende's new location for Star of Bethlehem, a building he left before it was finished. Glende campaigned to have it closed and forgotten. He wants to be a DP some day; he has the brains, liver, and manners to become a WELS leader.
You really do not want to ask about this.
Ski's and Glende's behavior would earn them both a security firing (cardboard box with their junk in it - out the door) at any decent company.
But Engelbrecht, SP Schroeder, and Zank supported Ski.
So did Kudu Don Patterson, who adopted the orphan boozer.

Two WELS Pastors and Four Meritless Lawsuits | Light from Light:

The Booze Brothers and Their Bar Ministry

"Recently, two WELS Pastors, Tim Glende and James Skorzewski, and two of their staff members filed four almost identical lawsuits against a WELS layman, Jonathan Donnan, a former member of their congregation.  Specifically, they asked a secular court to issue four restraining orders, ordering Jonathan Donnan to stop “harassing” them.

In the courthouse lobby before the first case was heard, a local attorney who handles a lot of cases in that court (and who had absolutely no connection to this case) looked at the court’s calender, and said, “When you see four restraining order petitions against one person, then usually that person did something extremely bad, or it’s a bunch of bullies ganging up on someone.”  Jonathan’s wife, Mara, who was sitting nearby, piped up and said, “It’s the second one.  It’s a bunch of bullies ganging up on someone.”"

Did anyone wonder why Bishop Katie quit suddenly from her job doing Ski's work for him? Mara was told to say there were no problems when she quit. That is exactly what Bishop Katy said, "No problems. Just suddenly quitting." Katy and Ski worked together at Jeske's church and then again at The CORE. Lesson - if a woman tells the truth about being mistreated by a WELS pastor, the woman will get the axe. Ask DP John Seifert. That is his policy too.

Joe Jewell It’s a CoWo group in Appleton housed in a trendy (or used to be trendy I suppose) bar building. Very expensive endeavor, started up literally within sight of I think two existing WELS congregations.

Site of a very public controversy where the congreg
ation (two pastors and two other staff members) sued a member/sexual-harassment victim’s family for speaking out. That would certainly give me pause, personally, about being involved there or recommending it to my family (though I’m sure others would have a different view). To keep this non-gossipy, I’ll simply cite the public record here on this well-known issue:

That’s it in a nutshell!
