Roman Catholicism
Otten saw a goldmine when he began Lutheran News, which is how the business was incorporated. Others had published newsletters, but he saw early that being a Sears Roebuck and distributing an array of products to others was far more profitable. Thus Christian News was spawned, much like the Federal Council of Churches becoming the National Council of Churches with the same address and staff.
One audience is conservative Roman Catholic, so Otten reprinted The Wanderer and repeatedly posted stories on the Church of Rome being gayer Hollywood. That was not even news 500 years ago.
It made people wonder, "Is the Roman Catholic era of Pius XII the ideal?" The truly sick part of this is selling The Truth about Luther by that sick, lying priest O'Hare. All of his fabrications were exposed a long time ago, and Roman Catholics realize it. But Otten justifies his promotion of Luther-falsehoods this way:
- He has sold O'Hare's lies for many years.
- He sells to "both sides of the issue."

Anyone dealing with Otten knows that he will promote any non-Lutheran book but refuses to acknowledge Lutheran books (which are rare).
Does this immunize people against the Book of Concord? Of course it does. The program of rationalistic Pietism was and is: "Why disagree about anything? Let's work together based on our common doctrines."

WELS News Spiker, aka Bury the Lead on Page 17
When I reviewed the Roman Catholic author's book on the gay dominance of the Catholic hierarchy, I also pointed out the problems in Lutherdom, including WELS. He apologized to WELS and John Brug for the fact that I told the truth. When the FBI raided the headquarters of WELS, confiscating child porn from Hochmuth, the PR director, Otten buried the story, which is almost as good as spiking it.
Seminex and ELCA
Otten would have people think he was the sharp point of the spear during the Seminex episode. He is the first to defend Seminexers he knows. Did they ruin Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago? No, Braaten is wrong about that!
The pivotal issue is the Seminex doctrine, the glue that holds all the unionists together - Universal Objective Justification. Jungkuntz may have been a bad guy for the purpose of the Preus take-over, but he was a UOJ advocate as the head of their seminary that took in the Metropolitan Community Church. Professor Deppe was part of Seminex, then LSTC, then MCC.

| WAM II and clan. Jack and Robert led the most obnoxious slander campaign, vilifying Justification by Faith as false doctrine, promoting the Objective Justification of Missouri's Me Too Bishop Stephan, STD. Otten was and is a big help in promoting the OJ apostasy. |
Using the Preus Doctrinal Errors and Dumping Walter Maier
Otten was the Jack and Robert Preus enabler in taking over the LCMS. UOJ was the sledgehammer used to quarantine Walter A Maier II so Robert could be a big shot. Robert later repented of his OJ, but the clan will not admit his error - or theirs.
The Missouri Myth of the infallible Walther is still empowering. Look at how Walther led the front page of CN during the Reformation's 500th. That CFW backed a syphilitic abuser of young women is not even considered, but it is well known he did not want a history of early Missouri written.
CFW kidnapped his niece and nephew, let his future mother-in-law go to prison (briefly) for his crime, organized the riot that robbed Bishop Stephan of his gold, land, books, personal property, and kidnapped the bishop - forcing him over to Illinois at gunpoint. Stephan's OJ is Walther's OJ, and Otten backs the Preus OJ over the Bible's - and Luther's - Justification by Faith.
To build up Robert Preus, Otten had to help bury WAM II. Thus Robert Preus and Jack Preus, leakers to CN, became the LCMS power-brokers.
LCMS Has Had Terrible OJ Leaders - Elected with the help of Otten's Spin - Listed in Reverse Order
First of all, a synod is not improved by a clever politician, but by sound doctrine. Otten does not comprehend Biblical Lutheran doctrine, so he imagines that backing his temporary political friends is the answer. Actually, he is the problem.
Matt the Fatt - Now we know that Harrison sang a love song to Otten to become LCMS Synod President. Paul McCain also helped his own Gollum-like way, coveting what he could never have - the Ring of Power.
Gerald Kieschnick visited Otten before becoming Synod President. Otten repeatedly attacked Kieschnick's opponents so K won. Are any of these candidates very different from each other? No - Coke, Pepsi, and Royal Crown.
The Al Barry campaign was managed by Otten and Paul McCain. Paul got his Iowa call so he could finagle Barry's campaign. Paul got Barry's stuff to Otten early, so everyone on the CN list got Barry's material early. McCain and Otten denied working with each other while bragging to me about how they did it. The McCain-Barry administration was decidedly antagonistic toward the conservatives who put them in the Purple Palace.
Ralph Bohlmann apparently had the approval of Otten. Herman's son talked to us about how each candidate coveted positive CN coverage and then turned on Herman afterwards. The list above shows a definitely flat learning curve.
Jack Preus was the supposed revolutionary in the LCMS. He talked to Otten often, and Otten tape-recorded him. Herman showed up at the Concordia St. Louis campus and students spotted his car, marking it, during the campaign to elect Jack. Mrs. Ichabod and I were at the LCMS convention in Indianapolis when Jack spoke about Otten's lies in CN. Preus signed a Chemnitz book for me afterwards.
