Alec Satin: "Here is how that
Reformation sermon ends. Prophetic?"
These are some of
the glorious benefits resulting from the work of the
Reformation. Becoming conscious of these manifold blessings,
is it a wonder that our church, the church of the Reformation,
all over the land raises her voice in praises and thanksgiving
unto God? Only then shall the Lutheran Church cease to rejoice
and to celebrate the festival of the Reformation, when she
shall cease to have any more life. Only then shall she have
ceased to reverence Luther, that humble servant of God, when
she shall have ceased to value his doctrine.
May God protect us
from such unthankful sentiments of irreverence! May He enable
us rightly to appreciate this great and glorious work, that
the precious Gospel of Christ may be spread more and more, and
His name forever glorified! Amen.

Reformation.” by Rev. S. Schillinger, West Alexandria, Ohio

[GJ - Utterly false history!] Ben Kaster, Objective Justification was the response of Herman Preus, C. F. W. Walther, and others, to the errant teaching of the Augustana Synod that absolution is a mere expression of a wish for forgiveness, and not a powerful impartation of forgiveness. As the Augustans Synod theologians defended their essentially synergistic teaching on forgiveness and justification, the Synodical Conference theologians dug deep into the writings of Luther, Gerhard, and others, and ultimately into the Scriptures, in order to explicate the genuine Lutheran teaching, for the comfort of consciences and the glory of God's grace. GJ - Even if someone has an STM from an ELCA/Church Growth online school, he is not free to invent history and make that fantasy the bedrock of Lutheran, Biblical doctrine.
The Woods OJ/SJ explanation was already in print when the syphilitic Pastor Martin Stephan and his sex cult landed in America. Check out the dates, which Missouri loves to fudge in their hagiographies of CFW Walther.
Stephan taught Walther the false Easter absolution of the world - before they ever sailed for America. The Augustana Synod was not in the picture - the college formed in 1860. Walther said Stephan's OJ saved his life, and the historians note that Walther taught OJ his entire career.
The question arises - what was the origin of this OJ dogma, which is not found in the Bible, Luther, the Lutheran Reformation, Chemnitz, or the Book of Concord?
The peculiar invention of the Easter absolution of the world - or Justification Before Faith - comes from Halle Pietism, exemplified in Rambach's work.
"At the time of the faculty’s conversations with Maier II, Robert Preus looked for support and found it among conservative friends in the Evangelical movement who admired him for his defense of biblical inspiration and inerrancy, including several faculty members of Westminster Seminary—Escondido, California, with its renowned Reformed [GJ - Calvinist] scholar Michael Horton (b. 1964). Preus must have been aware, but chose to ignore that the Reformed see objective justification as a component of their doctrine of election, but it was hardly universal in scope as Lutherans have historically held it."

Scaer and Robert Preus got Walter A. Maier II removed from teaching Romans because WAM taught Justification by Faith. |
